When you're going Mach 1.4 and pull a 14G vertical. That's basically what your altitude is thinking lol. It's funny how an average fighter pilot can only handle 10Gs before blacking out and planes are designed to not let you pull passed 9 or 10. Meanwhile War Thunder you can pull like 15G turns all the way to -12Gs. Body just explodes from pressure

My old man use to be an AO in the Navy and my mom and I would often go to the hangar and see him for whatever reason so we would be around those. If I could've dropped out of school at an early age and joined the military with no high school diploma, I would've done it in a heart beat.

Most guys who join leave after their first contract because it's a whole lot of BS in here and we straight up do nothing. The coast guard does more good than the marines/army combined. It's not about being Russian, this movie (which is "Behind enemy lines") doesn't make sense whatsoever. Firing a heat seaking missile at a plane just overhead that you see for less than a second. Missile that is about as fast as the plane it's chasing. Reacquiring lock after passing the plane (or worse, after going for the heat signature of the exploding dropped fuel tank). Ballistically hitting the plane without exploding, which means it's a dud. Although that might explain why it didn't explode when it thought it was hitting the target while it was just a dropped fuel tank. Still makes no sense.

I work on F-22s so our jets never fly into combat with external fuel tanks. But, wouldnt they drop tanks immediatley when they have a missile locked on them? Or would they drop them later when all the fuel in the tanks have been used?
Yes, the pilot would drop tanks and ordnance as soon as he got the missile warning. But this movie was made for people that don't know *anything* about air combat, and the writers thought it would be cool to have missiles do aerobatics for 2 minutes, and one follow a burning drop tank as a decoy. The drop tank can't catch fire and be a decoy if you drop it too early. (:

It's technically supposed to be the leaking fuel/oil igniting. That in technicality would never happen, jp-8 is way too stable in large quantities to ignite unless it's atomized properly and is burned at a specific flash point.
Behind Enemy Lines, the only movie I walked out on (was a better movie in another theater) because it was such unrealistic trash, the plot was also completely crap. I would sooooo freaking love this, I spent the whole day playing WT when they did the April Fools event this year with the Leopards and Attack Helicopters. Pls make this happen for next april fools or some other holiday that is soon to come.

I work on F-22s so our jets never fly into combat with external fuel tanks. But, wouldnt they drop tanks immediatley when they have a missile locked on them? Or would they drop them later when all the fuel in the tanks have been used?
I guess they would drop the tanks when they needed to be extra agile. I know that p51s would do that when they had to engage with enemy interceptors.
Yes, the pilot would drop tanks and ordnance as soon as he got the missile warning.
But this movie was made for people that don't know *anything* about air combat, and the writers thought it would be cool to have missiles do aerobatics for 2 minutes, and one follow a burning drop tank as a decoy.
The drop tank can't catch fire and be a decoy if you drop it too early. (:

It's technically supposed to be the leaking fuel/oil igniting. That in technicality would never happen, jp-8 is way too stable in large quantities to ignite unless it's atomized properly and is burned at a specific flash point.

Behind Enemy Lines, the only movie I walked out on (was a better movie in another theater) because it was such unrealistic trash, the plot was also completely crap. Later seeing it on DvD due to extreme boredom Even Gene Hackman at the end was acting so deadpan as if to say "Can we finish this turd please?"

1:46 That annoys me, it's not how modern aa missiles work... When they get close enough, they explode, usually from a few metres away, that one literally slammed into the aircraft but didn't detonate? The pilot should be dead.

Convenient how in movies missiles always start super fast but then slow down to about the planes speed to make a plane/missile chase scene
