Thank you for this video…I did a chocolate wrap cake using your method from one of your tutorials back in May 2023 (where you used a mesh stencil) but the gold did not transfer well and I ended up having to paint it (grrrr…) Next time I will be sure to make the acetate for my “linear chocolate transfer” thicker and completely solid gold!
Love thus but have a question I was wondering if the gold on the other parts of the acetate rub off on the cake. I want to try it but afraid besides the chocolate lines the entire sheet of gold gets on the cake😢
I have a question. I watched someone who covered their cake in a colored modeling chocolate instead of fondant. I’ve never thought about doing that and I was wondering how that medium is to work with compared to fondant. Do they act the same? What about the taste? I’m now making all the desserts for our churches singles and I’m looking for many different dessert options. When I have a question, you’re my go to 🤷♀️🙏, so can you please help me with this issue? No need to worry before Christmas, but please have a very special one with your family and thank you for all the work you’ve done in helping me learn more about cake decorating! You truly are the best!!
Hello! I have to say that I have only covered a cake in modeling chocolate once. It was fine to work with. I think the differences would be that fondant has more stretch, so it is easier to drap on a cake. That was before the paneling method became a thing, so that would probably be easier. Modeling chocolate is easier to hide imperfections than fondant. You can smooth it easier if you have any cracks or any other oopsies;) So I think it comes down to preference. Give it a try on a small cake you don't plan to sell and see what you think!
I've stumbled upon your videos and immediately subscribed to your channel about a month ago. Your creations are phenomenal! I then checked out your website. Again, your cake designs are absolutely stunning! I live in upstate NY, and I pray you are still in business Aug of 2025 because I would love for you to create my wedding cake. Until then, I will continue to enjoy your videos.
I tried this with gel color and it was spitting constantly despite how thinned down it was. (Just sharing that it doesn't always work as well as traditional air brush color for everyone.)
That's definitely 💯 💯💯💯💯 percent interesting l will try this Beautiful work

Hey Mary, what was the liquid you used to mix with the gold luster dust? Was it everclear or lemon juice? Thanks
Beautiful cake and style but why did you switch out your airbrushes?

Hi! Thank you so much! Oh, how I wish I could make your cake, but I am in Iowa, and I don't think I could get it to you:(
Mary can we use candy melts to achieve that effect if we don't have the butter ganache?
Yes, but you have to move very quickly as it sets up so fast and may crack.
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Me encantan sus videos pero quisiera la traducción a español como le hare?

Yeah, I do have to keep mixing it up
Spend too much gold only for tiny lines…
Don’t you spend too much gold?
It isn't too bad;)
