It's bad enough people are attacking Pokemon fans because some bad Pokefans were attacking PalWorld and fans of it, so they felt justified attacking innocent Pokemon fans who didn't partake in the drama. For those new to this game, although some Sonic 3 adjacent things exist in the earlier stages, this is the entry meant to distance the series from its Sonic/Gunstar Heroes inspirations as to give it more of its own identity, giving even more focus to the combat element, complete with a "Guard" parry system to promote a more aggressive playstyle and resulting in a lower skill floor but higher skill ceiling, so there's a lot more than meets the eye. It welcomes more playstyles than ever, calling it Sonic adjacent is only scratching the barrel of its appeal! Truly a legendary action platformer that has evolved to grace the 32-bit era, with a pretty decent (If verbose) story this time around!
Now that this game is bound to be released on consoles, it’ll hopefully garner more attention than it did back in 2022. As someone who played the first game, this sequel has outdone the original in every way, except for the soundtrack. Whilst it still delivers well on that part for sure, personally I’ll always favour the the OST of the prequel over this one.

Probably worth mentioning here, this game's engine was originally designed by Christian Whitehead. So... if Sonic Superstars didn’t really do it for you because you wanted Sonic Mania 2 then this is basically the closest thing to that.

I just finished the first game yesterday and played the demo for Freedom Planet 2. LOVE! THIS! GAME! SERIES! Can confirm that the gameplay from 2 (this game) is MUCH smoother, has optional difficulties/perks to make gameplay easier or harder (like an auto-guard and resource magnet), a blink ability to avoid damage temporarily, and a lot of new moves, hub locations, a world map, and 4 playable characters. HOWEVER, you must keep one thing in mind. Treat this as its own game. NOT another Sonic game. Freedom Planet throws a LOT of enemies at you, so don't fall back on too many habits from the Sonic games. Blaze your own path, look around if you get stuck and change characters if you need to. It's a fantastic series with fun bosses, unlockable abilities and some mean villains...but take it at your own pace and enjoy the ride. Hope GalaxyTrail makes a Freedom Planet 3 someday. And if the developers from GalaxyTrail every read this, I have to say this....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
If not for Xenoblade 3, this would have been my game of the year for 2022. Not only does it improve on just about everything from the original, it's also just one of the most solid speed platformers I've ever played. And the soundtrack is absurdly good. If you have even a passing interest in the game, give it a go, you won't be disappointed. GalaxyTrail did it again.

Pro tip for newbies: keep the camera sensitivity cranked up high in the settings. This means it zooms out more frequently, getting rid of any screen crunch and giving you more time to react to stuff. Freedom Planet does what Sonic don't.

Looks like a better sonic game than Sonic Superstars and for probably a fraction of the price I imagine. I remember playing the first one on Wii U, cool to see the sequel on switch!

Pro tip for newbies: keep the camera sensitivity cranked up high in the settings. This means it zooms out more frequently, getting rid of any screen crunch and giving you more time to react to stuff. Freedom Planet does what Sonic don't.

They will probably do a limited run release. I'm thinking about whether to buy it digitally or wait and save for a physical version. I have a notification on deku deals that will notify me on when the physical edition will come out.
