    Moe Norman is knows as the greatest ball-striker who ever played the game. Even Tiger Woods claims that Moe was one of only two players to "own" his golf swing. So what exactly did Moe think of his golf swing? What are his personal thoughts?
    In this video, I explore a few of Moe's insights including a spectator noticing how Moe "spanks" the ball, questions from a gallery about the release and Moe describing his swing as "smooth".

    About the Single Plane Golf Swing
    The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
    Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
    This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
    The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

    That whipping impact sound when moe hits the ball is the best. I get that sound when I do the single plane swing correct. I love it so much. when it’s effortless and you also get that sound, it’s amazing, and you know it’s good.

    His smoothness & confidence is unreal. He is not worried about hitting a bad shot. With his insights and your technical details, we can’t lose. Great share

    That sound.. it’s absolutely addictive. Anyone who ever even by luck has had a pure compressed strike like that is hooked on it.. hitting woods, 5 or 3 is an absolute joy once you’ve figured out what to do.

    Great stuff, Todd! Thanks for letting these videos live on and your commentary is excellent.
    If you just listened to the strike and turned the video off, you would believe you were listening to Hogan, Trevino, or Tiger. There is NO substitute for the sound of a well struck ball.

    Love your videos. Setup Hint! Take your stance with the sun at midpoint behind you so you can see your shadow on the ground, from the feet to the shoulders and the head. Go into your stance routine & swing, & watch your shadow. It turned out I thought my lead shoulder was farther out than it really was. (I.e., my shoulders were not as wide as I thought.) I also Kept moving my head backward on the backswing. Now hitting the ball much better.

    I've been watching a few videos of Moe recently. The sound of the ball being struck by him is different from any other golfer (especially with his irons). Crisp and not exceptionally loud. I can only surmise that this is because few strike the ball as cleanly as he did.

    Todd thanks again best videos ever. I'm fully committed. This is the way to golf. I have a question. In all your videos it always looks like the club face is open, or slightly away from the target, not aiming dead center. Is this just my mind seeing things of should I be ok with seeing the club face a few degrees ...to the right i guess. Thanks again for making golf fun finally!

    I finally got it stopped at the right point, about half way between positions 3 and 4. The shaft looks like it is maybe 4 to 6 inches away from the trail shoulder. Very much like Ben Hogan. Then he explodes into impact. I think this video brought that out to an extent I had never seen before. Thanks Todd! Something else to practice. Position 3.5. Vertical drop in action!

    Increasing speed of the club head with maximum speed at a point beyond the ball position is the secret to long drives not yanking the club at full speed at the top of the backswing. More was a one-of-a kind professional but I would not play the ball that far forward in my stance. For most golfer, the ball would be topped or missed completely because many golfers realize that weight shift to the lead foot is a must. They remain on their back foot and top or chunk the ball. For seniors that tense and violent swing would cause spine damage. A good golf swing is free of tension in hands and arms with a smooth body turn for a weight shift. Trying to copy tour pros is a mistake.

    I watched your video for long time and follow with great result however I lost those movement and lost my confident.Till I found out that I the problem came from weight transfer was too much to the right then sway to the left .Now happy to fix that.Please talk about weight transfer to your next Video.Thanks.

    Hi! Todd! I’m wondering what is the contribution of left and right arm on golf swing. The right arm pushes while left arm pulls. Which arm is dominant?

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no dominant arm however, there are contributions of each arm depending on "where" in the swing motion. I cover this in my videos on the biomechanics of the swing.

  • @johnmcbeath1751
    @johnmcbeath1751 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I look carefully at Moe’s swing particularly with the longer clubs he does have a slight closed stance and his shot is a slight pulled shot to the left. The ball flight is straight but slightly to the left. It appears that this way he can rotate the lower body easier and get better power through the swing.

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pulled relative to the toe line? Ben Hogan had the same Toe-line to target ball-position. I would suggest that this is not a pull but rather good biomechanics relative to ball position.

    Just got an advertisement for Martin Chucks latest perfect contact training...in the ad Martin says he used to shag ball on the range for Moe Norman and says tho Moe did not have a perfect swing he did have perfect contact and he learned from watching Moe the value of perfect contact.....

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Moe had a perfect swing which is why Moe had perfect contact. That is why I teach it.

    Todd what I found most insightful from Moe here is where he says (and I'm paraphrasing) he is never putting any strain on his trail leg. He even qualifies this further with a second warning of "never". My question is should take from him saying this is that the SPS is lead sided? Is that essentially what he's trying to tell us here? Many Thanks. Tim

    One of the difficulties of the golf swing often posited is that we're not hitting a moving target (which is easier to do) Do you think that Moe starting so far from the ball gets over this: he has to move into the ball, not quite happy gilmore but a mini version?

    • @ToddGravesGolf
      @ToddGravesGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are "reasons" for Moe staring the club well behind the ball. It put him into his backswing and it keep a better club to body relationship thought the swing. Yes, as you state it could help him swing trough the ball too.

    Als je goed kijkt naar de adrespositie van de club (niet van de bal positie )dan staat zijn hoofd fix in de aslijn van zijn adres positie en slaat precies naar die plaats van de adres positie en nu begrijp ik waarom hij zegt mijn handen zijn steeds voor mijn body bij het uitswingen en is zijn linker schouderblad het asdraaipunt daar hij zijn hoofd achterhoud op die Adres positie ❤greats Hubert
