The video that you have chosen to learn something about Spain has a lot of mistakes and lies. An example is the so-called Spanish flu, when in reality it was transmitted from the USA to the rest of the world by the soldiers of the First World War. Spain, being neutral, was the only country that reported and warned about this pandemic and the allies to cover up this disaster, since they were at war, they implied that it came from Spain. Typical of the black legend promoted by the English and the Netherlands to destroy the Spanish empire and unfortunately still believed today.

@@Pablokillerjerez It is even quite debatable whether it was the Vikings. The evidence that indicates that it was the Vikings is completely circumstantial and linked to a single remains of an old cabin...while no one says anything about the Egyptians and we know that there is archaeological evidence in Australia of their arrival there and if it were not prohibited the access we could verify if "the news" of Egyptian remains in the Colorado Canyon are real.

This video is hyper manipulated and has errors everywhere, even each of the maps he has made are wrong.😥😥😥
By the way, America was a discovery for Europeans and therefore for the rest of the planet.
That there were natives before, yes. That we didn't know, too.
The Vikings were not a civilization, they were barbarians who have not left a single building, temple, road, bridge, aqueduct, palace, castle or great fortress, which is why their legacy is limited to the romanticism of Germanic countries since the 19th century, but nothing more, besides not having formal relations with any of the few states that were in the area, not even with England, which they invaded.

Its very disrespectful to try to robe Spain of such enormous achievement. Specially when not one in Europe "had the balls to go to sea and cross the ocean.

5:54 Yes, and in fact the spanish language is a direct result of the rule of the roman empire in the iberian peninsula (the romans called the territory "Hispania"). Languages like spanish, italian, french, portuguese, romanian and a few others are direct descendants of latin, because of the roman empire. Now all those languages that evolved from latin are called 'romance languages', which are a subtype of the 'Italic languages'. That is also why people from south america are referred to as 'latin', because they were conquered by Spain and speak spanish.
6:24 What the video says here is a myth, btw. The spanish inquisition was very mild compared to the inquisition in other european countries. That myth was started as political propaganda by other european countries that were enemies of Spain at the time, and it stuck.
8:58 Also, the video is wrong about the economy. Spain's economy improved under the rule of Franco (event known as "the spanish miracle"), the economic boom started before joining the european union.

Navarra wasn't a "Basque" kingdom at all. Basque people just lived in some parts or that kingdom, most of the current region of País Vasco and the north-west part of the current region of Navarra. But the most of the kingdom wasn't inhabited by basques. In fact, the king was a Fernando I's cousin. Fernando was the King of Aragón and Isabel I of Castilla's husband and both (Isabel and Fernando stablished the bases of the modern Spain (which had already been kind of Spain after the Roman Empire, during the Visigothic domination).
The video you've reacted has many errors.
By the way, Spain was the Napoleon's Vietnam, since he was mainly defeated due to the guerrilla warfare.
