Nadal and ronaldo are the ultimate warriors among all athletes. No one comes close to sheer will power and mentality of these two ❤ They both also had most impact in their respective games. I was (still am) a huge Federer fan so I was definitely at first not a Nadal fan. However, after the AO when he played Verdasco and came right back and played Fed in the finals earned my respect. Nadal is the fiercest competitor I’ve ever seen, in any sport. He’s absolutely amazing. Hoping for one more miracle.
Without question Nadal at his peak was beyond belief. The man had endless stamina no matter how many sure winners players even fed and Novak threw at him. He crushed prime fed on 3 consecutive GS finals FO 08 Wim 08 AO 09. They said only injuries could stop him at tbf some of that was true

"I'd much rather Novak Djokovic didn't play at Australian Open". That was Nadal's "joke" as Djokovic was at the time locked up like a common criminal when the Australian government flip-flopped on their own exemption process after telling Djokovic to come over. What great "comedic timing" Nadal has. He knows that he has more chance of his hair growing back than beating Djokovic there so could not stop himself from saying that even considering the circumstances... What a great guy...
@huzcer I'm sure Djokovic would have preferred if Nadal didn't play in the French Open. Nadal has a better record in GS, and GS Finals H2H. Djokovic was 2-1 at Wimbledon...but Nadal was 2-1 at the US Open. Sure, Djokovic was 2-0 at the AO...but Nadal was 8-2 at the French H2H.
That's why along Novak and Roger Nadal was the big three. Daniil is a great player but with the big three on the circuit life was hard for him as it was most players
I watched this live and after the first break back in the third set, Meddy started getting sarcastic with his team and the crowd, and you kind of knew what was coming after that.

Man has willpower and an ability to dig his heels in the sand unlike any other person in sports i’ve seen. Rafa just refuses to lose in certain moments, you can see the effort he puts into every point. One of the reasons I thought he’d be on the list of few pro athletes in other sports with at least the mentality and doggedness to do combat sports. Man probably coulda been one hell of a WW haha 😆 Happy he saved his brain and played tennis though 🤝💪
