1) The mystery semi-astro turfed pen seems to have a circular waste bin in the corner. It is hard to gauge the size of it, but could it be a play area for toddlers (LFC fans)? 2) I could envisage railway carriages/wagons being used to provide beverages :)
It's for dogs. There is a bin holder, yes, but also a drain and a water supply. I did expect the astroturf to cover the whole area but we shall have to wait and see about that.
Hi Nick. This is a fun fact. I recently watch a video on TH-cam about the old overhead railway that went to the dock. It showed the tower. And at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the roof there where 3 toilet cubicles. There are now 2 doors with 1 bricked up. If they are staying as toilets mate. There's going to be a hell of a queue. 😂😂😂
Looks like there to help the trees to properly take root. Wander if anyone else want to see the pitch bearing green grass it amazing to think the stadium is all but complete be a grate Christmas present for all toffees for the take over and stadium to be completed 😊
Shame you missed out having a proper look at the most south east part of the fan plaza by the dock wall & site boundry. It had storage & equipment there for most of the build but has now been freed up to complete ground works & new fencing.
Sam: relax, there will be. There is a long list in the Approved Plans of potential Illuminated Signage locations on the stadium and the site. We have to wait to see how EFC use them when they carry out the customisation.
The hydraulic tower should be something to do with EITC. A cafe of some sort that our more elderly fans go to before and after the game to avoid crowds etc.
Michael's memorial is a mooring post or bollard. The ones in front of the tower are capstans which are more like a winch. Hope they jet wash and re-point the outer wall the, stones are a nice light grey like the ones they put back cleaned. I can only imagine the letters are rust because English heritage want everything as low key as possible
English Heritage are a charity - nothing to do with them. Historic England are the government organisation responsible for protecting the country’s heritage
John: the wall will not get jetwashed. They'd end up having to repoint everything as well, if they did. The heritage Stakeholders want the appearance of unfettered originality, not new walls, so the intent will be to allow the new sections to age like the old wall. Corten Steel is regularly used on new builds, never mind old building refurbishments, as it's low-maintenance and reflects the nature of the original use, especially as there were lots of rusted objects around the site and even on the walls before EFC took charge of BMD.
Mark: your imagination is running riot. Whilst I agree with you that it's likely that the A and E WILL be on the Central Tower Gate at the south end and one of the two towers at the north end, they haven't yet been fitted.
Nick - on Craig's video today, there was a Large Truck dropping Top Soil on the pitch, and the Diggers were spreading it. They have also started to make progress on the other end of the South Stand viewing gallery (Cladding).
@@Delred1 No, Jason is correct. It's called a Mooring Bollard. A Capstan is a mechanical device that uses ropes, cables, or chains to move heavy weights. It's a vertical-axled rotating machine that's often used on ships, in shipyards, and in railroad yards. You can see a couple of reclaimed and black-encapsulated Capstans immediately in front of the Hydraulic Tower @ 6:22 mins.
The turnstile numbers go to 24 I think in the away end. CP overview shot it while flying low over United Utilities. There's even a turnstile number inside the club shop in the far right door.
Lee: yes, that Door # is for the entrance to the East Stand Hospitality Lounge. There is an escalator further back behind that door that will take them up. The club shop comprises 2/3 rds of the ground floor and the whole of the top floor of the Main Portal.
@@michaelc6961 I’d like to see something understated and classy, like the Goodison Park lettering that’s on the Park End stand at the grand old lady. A simple “Everton Football Club” in that font lit up above the front door
Relax, Michael, and be patient a while. EFC will be providing plenty of EFC branding when they carry out the customisation. There are plenty of potential locations on the stadium for branding itemised in the approved plans.
it looks like the old dock wall is being patched in places, I suppose it will have to be even and not present a hazard. Also at 11.52 there appears to be a mooring bollard but looks untouched or restored, wonder if it’s being left as is - rusty looking ?
Bazzer, the old Mooring Bollards that are located in the old Dock Wall Granite Coping Stones are being left rusty on purpose, so that they are seen in the original state, juts like the wall itself. Yes, they will be filling in or making good the 'holes' in the Granite Coping Stones so that they aren't a trip hazard. You can see they have done so in some areas but not yet all.
Hi Nick, great video as usual. Just an observation 5:27 regarding the security hut bollards. The first one that’s close to the corner of the hut seems to be sticking out quite abit, I understand why but it looks like it could affect any vehicles driving down the road? Also does anyone know if the club will be in liaison with the company VOI in terms of having a special deal / area for fans to use the scooters/bikes they have around the city to help with transport too and from the stadium?
@@DuncTheBlue1878You can see what I mean though? That first bollard seems like it’ll be an obstruction too the coaches driving up as it looks like they’ll have to drive around it.
Great Video as always Nick. I've not noticed any bins being added to the site yet. I'm guessing it's one of the last things they add? I just hope everyone respects this stunning new site and doesn't spit chewing gum all over the new plaza's or drop litter etc. Would be sad to see such amazing work ruined by chewing gum spots everywhere (like you see on the city centre pavements). But I'm sure EFC fans would never do this to their own stadium. COYB!
The hydraulic tower should be given to the Everton Herutage Society to continue their work that they do in St Lukes on Matchdays. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem likely
Would be great take a water taxi to the game from the Wirral but there isn’t a port at Bramley Moore and the cost of constructing one would be astronomically expensive. Won’t happen, unfortunately
The new Everton store Nick getting some bad OCD over the roof over it always looks like it's got a hole in it, seen in other drone users as well, Good video as always.
Does the hydraulic tower belong to EFC ? It might be within the site boundary but not a given that it belongs to or is leased by the club ? Does anyone know 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Mr drone hope you are keeping well. Thank you for talking about the high drolick tower I am a bit more clear now. Do you know if there is going to be some large Everton crest around all the sides of the outside of the stadium. Once again thank you .pamla morgan 😊
Everton Way will be between the south stand and Nelson Dock. You can see where LoR have left space for EFC’s next contractor to install the stones in the new year
Couple of questions if you don't mind What will the area where the Lang offices are be used for once they clear out What will the contractors car park be used for once site is handed over No shelter anywhere on fan plaza when weather is bad
All of that will be handed back over to the owners. The club don't own any of that land. You can see they are starting to fence off by the offices now if you pause at 14:30 The club only own the land up to that fence.
Nice gesture but need to point out better to donate direct to Zoes then they can claim gift aid which they can't do if donations routed via Mr Drone. Thats my understanding anyway.
Hi Nick Great video as always, which route will away fans take, once they make way through the gates, at Goodison they like to separate home and away fans.
Away fans will be directed along the northern access road to the away fans’ turnstiles in the north east corner. On sunny days, they will be welcome to enjoy the east fan zone plaza in the hours leading up to kick off
Nick as you come thru the Towered Gate (before the Poo works) to your Right tucked up against the Dock Road Wall, is a sectioned off area, looks like it has a bit of green astroturf along the base of the wall?? What is that??? IF YOU FOLLOW THE BLACK BOLLARDS FROM THE GATEHOUSE IT WILL LEAD YOU RIGHT TO THE AREA I MEAN. (OOPS YOU mentioned it Should stop comenting until I've watch your full vid)
Jonathan, just some materials that have been left behind for now. I am still expecting some more removals yet so I guess they are waiting for the right moment to clear it all.
Hi Nick, cracking video as always. Im guessing that the fake turf behind cast iron railings is being set up for media interviews with people in the fan zone, such as Graeme Stuart for example??
I'm having a hard time with the changes in slope. It looks like the top of the dock wall in sections would have to have a downward slope. Was some of the top of the old dock walk removed to match the current grading?
Not sure exactly what your referring to but there is a small slope from the dock edge to the ground level at the turnstile of 0.7m at the south stand and from the top of the visible dock wall to the turnstile on the East Plaza.
Eric: the old dock wall is the lowest point of the Plaza. The surface actually slopes down from the Regent Road wall. Obviously the very S and N ends of the Plaza up to the stadium facade are at the same level as the old dock wall but the central part of the stadium is on a higher level. So, the water-effect flags are actually laid on a slope up centrally but that is why there are two split-level blue-glass fronted benches, so as to provide an easy differential between the higher central parts and the level of the old Dock Wall. Does that answer your question?
Will the club shop be staying open at Goodison or will that be going to? Also, will there be parking (ie, blue badge holders/disabled access) at BMD club shop.?
Olly: No, the club shop at GP will close as the whole site will be redeveloped. I don't know the timing of that. It's possible that Security may allow temporary Disabled Car Parking IF they are visiting the shop. The most likely spot is the bollarded area to the south of the Driveway inside the north Tower Gate entrance.
Rust colour of the lettering. The entire stadium had to fit in with the surrounding architecture and not look out of place. The use of blue will be for little details in the same way of the subtle nods to the cris cross design.
Good video pal as per. People moaning about trees🤷♂️😂😂. I think they set it off and also (maybe not these trees) but trees help reduce air pollution. I might be wrong but those rusty colour letters might be only the under part of the proper letters.
Adam: there is a water feature to the west and then something called the Mersey a bit further on! A water feature on the East Plaza would make no sense at all. It would be wasted space in terms of the intended use of the East Plaza.
@@davidbadcock2225But David, wasn't there something in the plans about that Mersey water feature being emptied out on match days to allow people from Wirral to walk over to the match? Fella in the pub told me his cousin's mate's auntie was talking about it. And she should know.

If some people are still concerned about the gate house that it's not big enough for coaches then why don't they get an empty bus and do a few tests that way that will put their concerns to rest once work has completed
LoR and EFC don’t need to do that because they know it’s wide enough. Fans on here who are unconvinced it’s wide enough won’t be allowed to drive a bus through there.
Hi nick just a question regarding the gap for the coaches and if they will fit i know you've just covered it but i did notice that Infront of the security hut there are three bollards and the first bollard really does look like it's too far out for a coach to get past without hitting it what do you think... maybe have a look on your next fky round...cheers nick 👍
Mike: they are the Heritage Rails. They have been reinserted exactly where they were before the work began. Trains were the main form of goods transport to and from the dockside, originally.
That's one of the last things they'll be turning on as it's the icing on the cake so to speak. I'd imagine they'll do a few tests then do the full light up when they hand the stadium over to Everton.
Leo: Corten Steel is regularly used on new builds, never mind old building refurbishments, as it's low-maintenance and reflects the nature of the original use, especially as there were lots of rusted objects around the site and even on the walls before EFC took charge of BMD.
It's very unlikely to be a bar. The floorplan is probably too small for that and I can't see LCC planners looking kindly on a load of alcohol-fuelled, pumped-up supporters on the roof, particularly overlooking the Away Fans movements or the Away Players arriving. The roof was never designed to be holding a mass of people either: it was merely a cover for the Pumps and Engines below. The finish of crushed rock gravel is for appearance and ease of maintenance only and the safety rails are designed only to protect maintenance contractors. It's far more likely to be what was outlined in the original plan, which was for it to be a Cafe AND Museum, although what kind of museum is not clear. Longer-term it's earmarked to be the northern terminal of the Mersey Walk along the front from the southern terminal at the National Garden site, even if that will be after Peel Group have finished developing Liverpool Waters, so some way off.
Corten Steel is regularly used on new builds, never mind old building refurbishments, as it's low-maintenance and reflects the nature of the original use, especially as there were lots of rusted objects around the site and even on the walls before EFC took charge of BMD.
They aren't going on the stadium, That was just to make it look better on the original designs. The stadium will be getting ambient lighting all over the barrel cladding and under the south stand, but definitely not the big lights what shine into the sky haha.
@jack4500 It would look like Gotham city mate, no chance that was ever going to get passed 😂 wait until it's fully lit up it will still look the part 👌🏻
Regardless if the color is rust or red, it is a poor contrast between the letter and the brick. It would have been better to use a lighter color for the letter to make it stand out more. .
They are probably a lot bigger in person and I've got a feeling I seen Cables in that wall where they are placed before they went in so they'll light up of a night. Deffo won't be hard to see either way.

@@rosse6705 Corten Steel is not see-through. The subtlety in the specific language here is important. They will not light up through the front face, as per the stadium numbering, but they may well be lit. I suspect it's possible that they may have back-lights in them that will light the wall enough for the letter-shadow to be seen close up.
It’s a dog ‘spending’ area. It’s for assistance dogs to go and do their business. There will be a second one at the southern end of the plaza near the other old turreted entrance through the dock wall.
Craig: It's for dogs. There is a bin holder but also a drain and water supply. I did expect the astroturf to cover the whole area but we shall have to wait and see about that.
Why are people concerned about the coaches being unable to fit behind the North Stand! I mean, its not something thats all of a sudden sprung up on the planners😂😂
😆 Emergency meeting tomorrow between the club, architects and LoR: “Doh! I don’t think we’ve made the northern access road wide enough for the team bus to fit 🤦🏼♂️” Ridiculous.
Some people always think that either they know better or that there is bound to be a hole in any plan, particularly those that want to cough up their favourite expression of "that would be so Everton, that!".
Yep, it will defo fit on that road. There's no way it's getting through the gate leading to the road though!! They hadn't thought it through properly... So Everton that....
I don't buy that line that the Leitch design was always supposed to be subtle as it's turned out - the original renders and flythrough showed it as a prominent design feature. It feels like something that could be addressed in the future easily enough however. th-cam.com/video/eHnPtZGeBfA/w-d-xo.html

1) The mystery semi-astro turfed pen seems to have a circular waste bin in the corner. It is hard to gauge the size of it, but could it be a play area for toddlers (LFC fans)?
2) I could envisage railway carriages/wagons being used to provide beverages :)

Hi Nick

The hydraulic tower should be either a cafe, ticketing office or a pub. It would make a good bar as there's a rooftop terrace readily available.

Be cool to see some sort of projection of everton lettering on the west stand glass for matchdays

Yeah all on the flat 😂
Still looking so impressive each video 🏗🏟👍
The letters A and E at the entrances are on top of the middle round gate building (not sure what they are called). Great video as always UTFT
It's called a bollard used to be used to secure a ship rope too on the memorial
Dyou mean a capstan ?
@Delred1 Capstans are motorised I think.
@@Delred1 No, Jason is correct. It's called a Mooring Bollard. A Capstan is a mechanical device that uses ropes, cables, or chains to move heavy weights. Relax, Michael, and be patient a while. EFC will be providing plenty of EFC branding when they carry out the customisation. There are plenty of potential locations on the stadium for branding itemised in the approved plans.
Every lamp-post and more will be royal blue/everton branded
it looks like the old dock wall is being patched in places, I suppose it will have to be even and not present a hazard.
Everton Way will be between the south stand and Nelson Dock. You can see where LoR have left space for EFC’s next contractor to install the stones in the new year
Couple of questions if you don't mind
What will the area where the Lang offices are be used for once they clear out
What will the contractors car park be used for once site is handed over
No shelter anywhere on fan plaza when weather is bad
All of that will be handed back over to the owners. The club don't own any of that land. You can see they are starting to fence off by the offices now if you pause at 14:30 The club only own the land up to that fence.
Yeah, will be handed back to the owners Peel

Hi Nick
Great video as always, which route will away fans take, once they make way through the gates, at Goodison they like to separate home and away fans.
Away fans will be directed along the northern access road to the away fans’ turnstiles in the north east corner. On sunny days, they will be welcome to enjoy the east fan zone plaza in the hours leading up to kick off

Yep, I agree
Any idea where the dixie dean and holy trinity statues will be?

Will the club shop be staying open at Goodison or will that be going to? Also, will there be parking (ie, blue badge holders/disabled access) at BMD club shop.?
Olly: No, the club shop at GP will close as the whole site will be redeveloped. I don't know the timing of that. It's possible that Security may allow temporary Disabled Car Parking IF they are visiting the shop. The most likely spot is the bollarded area to the south of the Driveway inside the north Tower Gate entrance.

The hydraulic tower would make a great pub/restaurant. Imagine the views.
I agree but they’ll never allow change of use to a pub
