Robert the Fox, especially with his new event chain, is super fun. He himself is super fun, and he can also potentially marry Matilda of Tuscany, which if you can make him and Matilda’s kid your heir sets you up to form the Empire of Italia.
Can confirm that Nubia is really fun run. The female preference changes the game entirely. Instead of optimising the sons, you optimise the daughters. You send your sons out as trash for nothing more than alliances. becoming Kushite and reforming the ancient Egyptian borders is a go to imo if you're playing as Nubia. Restoring the Pharaohs of old...
That's what I do during most of my achievement runs - if you switch to matriarchy instead of patriarchy, all the male rulers who have female relatives will be replaced by their female relative, who in turn will have the "short reign" opinion debuff, while the male rulers who don't have any female relatives will be stuck with the "male ruler in a matriarchy" opinion debuff. This means that any female custom ruler you create will be on more even footing with her neighbors since almost everyone will be dealing with some kind of debuff
I'm currently running a campaign where I started in Nubia in 1066. Using the nile archers, I was able to conquer all of the Nile and Mesopotamia. Since the coptic holy sites are all fairly close to one another, (and you can construct a new holy site in the county of Meroë which birders Old Dongola,) I wad able to pretty easily reform my faith into one with lay clergy and me as head of faith. Not only could I now hold and grant temple holdings, but I also chose communion as a tent so people are constantly buying indulgences from me. I also made pretty much any kind of deviancy illegal so I could justify locking up my vassals and then ransoming them. And even if I got into a tyranny war, my army was so powerful it didn't matter, and then I had even more people to lock up and ransom. The Final step to generating massive amounts of gold was the "Mend the Great Scism" decision. Now all of Europe pays me indulgences (except for a few Catholic holdouts in the Holy Roman Empire and Spain). I get 400-700 gold every month from people paying indulgences on top of the 60+ gold I make naturally ever month.
Countess Gyda of Devon in 1066, 69 year old mother of the king of England. Her whole sucession line is of Godwinson dynasty, while she, herself, is of Sigurd dynasty. The main challenge of the playthrough is to figure out how to put her dynasty member as her prime heir, and to make sure that she herself will stay alive long enough for that. While it is reliant on good RNG way too much, it's still a really fun playthrough that tests your skills on how to keep your character alive as much as possible, and how to fix an incredibly bad sucession line.
I once conquered the Empire of Khazaria as Dyre. Just sat and waited until the jerk ruling it was stuck fighting a ton of rebellions at once, then swooped in and curbstomped him
I think that starting with king Alfonsu III of Asturias is not a ideal start, but with the quick traig, good martial hability and a position to fight french and islamist to conquer all Hispania is also a good campaign (difficult, but I personally recomend)
lol, in my newest playthrough i replaced that indian ruler with my own custom one because i had specific goals in mind (forming a witch coven for the first time, much easier to do if you start with the witch trait) but maybe ill go back at some point and try him out
Dyre is my favorite character in the game. I usually create a hybrid culture with the russians, which I call varyag. Then later I conquer the Byzantine Empire, rename it to Miklagardariki and create a varyag-greek culture which I call varangian
Thank you this makes me want to play again. I love CK3 but after several hundred hours I got bored. No playthroughs felt unique, hope these change that.
I love Chieftess Audr. I play her so much. If you play her right, you can conquer Iceland, the North Islands, and take the Isle of Mann from your brother (since your dad usually dies fast). Then with those 3 Duchies, create the Kingdom of Iceland. Then spend the next 4 hundred years just chilling and raiding, turning your mini North Sea Empire into a paradise.
Jarl Dyre my favorite start. Take over the Moyger Confederation and you can get Norgolians (imo the most OP hybrid culture Verangian Veterans + Horse Archers = unstoppable army)
My favorite Start is Harald Tanglehair. Its easy to get an Jarl Title and you got a strong Army very fast. When i start with an own created Ruler i start in North and try to get my favorite Kingdom Title "Man and the Isle"
I like doing conquest challenges with the Norse and Harald Fairhair can replace an optimized custom character just fine. And Audr the Deep Minded's appearance keeps getting changed, she was hotter in 1.0.
I once conquered Khazaria as Dyre. The guy ruling it was a jerk, so I just waited for him to inevitably wind up juggling, like, 5 rebellions at once, then swooped in to curb stomp what was left of his army while using the befriend scheme on all his powerful vassals to get a head start on winning them over Edit: To clarify, I had not expanded at all prior to declaring war on Khazaria, so it was literally a single county against am entire empire...😂
when i first started playing and got tired of getting murdered whilst i didn't know shi i decided to start playing as aour the deep minded she was such a cool character i learned how to play thanks to her dynasty even took Norway and England didn't know about the north sea thing but i could have had it easily 😂
@@Koifish yes good way to learn just sit away and let heastin go ruin England whilst u learn the game 😂 lol this was 2 years ago on xbox now i have alot of hours on pc and is one of my favorite games to mess around on
There is always Munis from Acre. He is an Eunuch ruler with no heir, a greek converted to Islam. Will you save his dynasty from his own lack of balls? Maybe even reestablish Alexander's empire, unifying this time the islamics under a greek rule?
Any of the last two nibelungid brothers. Make a child before character dies (both 60+), survive as a child, unifiy burgundians... profit. As Harald Finehair I didn't succeed in creating the Empire of the North Sea. But with his son Asbjorn I managed what his father started. And Asbjorn was a hell of a viking. Whole of Body, Athletic, champion in rhetorics, wrestling (while being ill), archery, horse racing and jousting. Experienced venator and traveler. Lost 4 wives and 2 of 4 sons (one drunk to death, the other ate some poisonous plant, idiot with 6 in learning). At the ripe age of 83 went to the wedding to the East Francia and found a lover. And made a illegitimate daughter. Then was kicked out of the wedding for being an old asshole. Died at the age of 90 )))
Palemon of Lithuania, the Legendary ruler of Lithuania that came from times of Nero and with 500 pontus families settled Lithuania Kocel of Balaton, your father was the ruler of Nitra until the Mojmirs conquered it, and soon the Hungary will be your large neighbors, will you remain Slovien or will you grow together with the newly displaced Avars? Pyinbya of Pagan, are Ari who are Buddhist that practice Spirit and Naga worship, you start with a Holy Site and a Special Building that both can be built, with two more Holy sites in the Kingdom
Some characters do! Like Matilda of Tuscany, Haraldr Tanglehair, and some others! But mostly, you're completely fine making your own character if you prefer that :)

Koifish: Top 5 CK3 character list
1) Haesteinn
2) Son of Haesteinn
3) Any Viking character
4) Lady Haesteinn
5) Haesteinn in a exotic hat..
Haesteinn in exotic hat is actually number 1 but close!
Haesteinn with Emira's veil hat? ^^
Koifish almost got me with the Hæsteinn part, like it was a jumpscare
I like to keep you guys on your toes! :D
Glad to see Fairhair on the list, to me he's like what Haesteinn is to you.
I recently did a campain as Haraldr Fairhair and united scandinavia as his grandson. It was one of my favorite campains ever
It's super rewarding when your realm finally comes together! :D But did it stay together for long?
I did one with him and formed the North Sea Empire in 1 lifetime.
W FOR PUTTING HARALD MY FAVORITE KING OF NORWAY IN THERE

They should hire this guy to do Total War intros
Just started playing yesterday for the 1st time since 2021, so big thanks, sir!
You're welcome, enjoy your adventure and watch out for those plotting vassals!!!

Holding the Nile and Mesopotamia should make you way more then 70 per month at this start date tbh.

return of the beloved addict
He got so addiceted, That he couldn't stand the withdrawl of the last 6 minutes of the video... ALL HAIL KOIFISH!
Yes, yes you did the jarl dyre varangian video where you became the emperor of byzantium!
"for what is a stranger if not a friend you haven't made yet" had me bouncing Shakespeare couldn't make a connection like that
AlzaboHD is in shambles right now
I once conquered the Empire of Khazaria as Dyre. Just sat and waited until the jerk ruling it was stuck fighting a ton of rebellions at once, then swooped in and curbstomped him
Hæstein character has become De jure property of the Koifish Kingdoom at this point.

I cannot believe you forgot to mention Ashot Bagratuni who rules Armenia in 867 and is in a great position to form the empire of Greater Armenia
my favourite has to be the playing as Jerusalem in 1066, the chaos you can cause to the Fatimid Empire is insain
Harald Hårfagre er den ubestridte beste karakteren i ck3.
Dyre is my favorite character in the game. I usually create a hybrid culture with the russians, which I call varyag. Then later I conquer the Byzantine Empire, rename it to Miklagardariki and create a varyag-greek culture which I call varangian
An interesting choice! I like to make a hybrid culture with the greeks!
Wheeee! JARL DYRE. Any mention of him never cease to made me glee. To me,he is sorta what Haesteinn is to you, koifish 🤣
Thank you this makes me want to play again. I love CK3 but after several hundred hours I got bored. No playthroughs felt unique, hope these change that.
Awesome list, haven't played a single one and they all look cool

i have too say with the new dlc and the mod city of wonders playing as mali has been extra special
Great choices Koifish, I enjoy all of these starting characters.
Is that set of clothes at 5:50 from a mod? I looks awesome but I can't find it in the barbershop...
Yeah baby, my boy Haraldr got some attention
There are a couple Tocharian characters left in the Tarim Basin I like to try and resurrect. You should check them out.
Jarl Dyre my favorite start. Take over the Moyger Confederation and you can get Norgolians (imo the most OP hybrid culture Verangian Veterans + Horse Archers = unstoppable army)
I done that. And then played tall until Ghengis khan turned up. I had less than half his men and stack wiped him 4 times before he gave up...
The moyger count as mongolian heritage? The more you know
@@PraiseJ-PopeYeah the Hungarian people migrated from the Mongolia area to modern day Hungary
My favorite Start is Harald Tanglehair. Its easy to get an Jarl Title and you got a strong Army very fast. When i start with an own created Ruler i start in North and try to get my favorite Kingdom Title "Man and the Isle"
0:46 Woman? How many divisions do they have?
i love your vids koi man
Was waiting for haestinn and am not disappointed
The top 5 867 starting rulers and why they are all Haesteinn.
Count Arzoccu of Sardinia is great for playing tall as weell
Love to see more great starts
I like doing conquest challenges with the Norse and Harald Fairhair can replace an optimized custom character just fine. And Audr the Deep Minded's appearance keeps getting changed, she was hotter in 1.0.
I enjoy playing as Daurama Daura & Haraldr Fairhair - literally the only 2 I play as 😂
I read the title as 'best sharts'.
I'm an adult..

Iceland is very isolated, so you have less neighbors to deal with! :D Glad you stuck with the game!

I fucking LOVE playing haraldr tangle hair
There is always Munis from Acre.
He is an Eunuch ruler with no heir, a greek converted to Islam.

Some characters do! Like Matilda of Tuscany, Haraldr Tanglehair, and some others! But mostly, you're completely fine making your own character if you prefer that :)
I thought this was AlzaboHD at first.
I don’t think the wind furnace works on console. I can’t find them or anything
Console is like 1.5 years behind in content compared to pc so we wont get anything for a long time
No matter how I start I just end up playing tall lol
Yeah I agree with Drye
Hmmm, the norseman has three norse characters in his top 5? Suspicious
Haesteinn is happy
Cool! 😎

First like and comment xD mi first one ever too!
Nie we demand 1066 scenario)

Just make haesteinn in all start dates
