Kudos to the mother I saw in Walmart once. Her kid was experiencing a mega-tantrum meltdown. She calmly asked “You got a ride home, right?” then just walked away and left him right there. Instantly, the tantrum was over and he ran to catch up to his mother.
I just had flashbacks. When I was stationed in SD with my toddler son; he jumped down to the floor... "1" time. I said, you better be having a seizure and walked off. He followed & never jumped down again. Kudos to all the Moms that discipline their children.

Our daughter is friends with a girl, who's father has OFTEN come up to us in public or come to our house to apologize for his daughter's or his wife's snotty behaviors towards our daughter or myself. My husband realizes how blessed he is to have an intelligent and socially adept wife and daughter. He's not embarrassed by us the way so many men we've known were just MORTIFIED by things their wives or kids have done...especially if it's girls. We're older parents and kind of think of boys as slower to be socialized. A rude girl is just...well, extra bad. If a girl can't behave, the parenting is REALLY lacking.

I love this mother. I prep my kids like a strategists whose team is playing in the FINALS. MY kids know if they mess up, I'm yanking and spanking with my shoe. A lady approached me and boldly told me, "corpral punishment is illegal." I offered her to join my son. I remember once I went to vote, there was no school, so they went with me... Of course they got the talk, and when we went inside they were told to stand against the wall and not move. While I'm voting, this lady asks me if those kids were mine, so I said "yes, why - what did they do?" She's like, oh nothing, they're just so well behaved! I relaxed and said, thanks. She almost got them whooped 😂
