    Good vid. Usually people only need to replace the right/passenger side spring to slow the opening. I had to put a little blob of grease on that ball socket and give a couple taps with a rubber mallet to get it to seat it properly. Got my spring from Amazon.

    This video really helped me a lot. Could you also do a video about the 535i headlights? Mine needs to be replaced and I really need help on that 😢

      that's actually exactly what i did prior to doing this fix myself but I'm glad I was able to help others by maybe getting a different angle on it

    I'm struggling with the left hand side spring. The spring doesn't quite reach the ball joint. Any advise?

    Not sure if you’ll see this comment 2 years later but can you link me the springs? I haven’t been able to find them

      i bought mine from ecstuning. the bmw part numbers are 51247204367 and 51247204366. looking at my receipt i paid $29 for one and $64 for the other. check also with fcpeuro or call the bmw dealership to see who has it cheapest. they work just like they should 2 years later, no issues.

    Will this cause the trunk not to stay open as well? I have to lift mine & hold it by hand

    • @Krowicki
      @Krowicki  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes there are two springs, if yours isn’t staying open it’s just the other one. i think it’s called the return spring? i replaced both in this video because if you’re going to replace one you may as well do the other

    Use flying trunk wisely, best to use it on rude car washers that use dirty clothe to scratch your paint work. Wait till they go to the back to dry the bumper, Kaa boom! Slap in the face.
