Just thought of a similar idea that mixes this, choose-your-adventure, and RNG rock-paper-scissor royal rumble (tweak to your fancy): You have 3 large categories of characters (both playing and environmental); the light, average and heavy classes. You decide how they play by the first skill/action you attach to them, in response to what they encounter. The environment they are in decides what their challenge and weaknesses are; heavies cannot cross terrain challenges, lights fair worst in brute strength, etc. These can be played universally (applies to any player), or only to the one who drew said obstacle (ie. fulfill a cost requirement). Each player may play apart from others within their own region until a shared regional feature is played. One example is players upstream may lose an items (drop into a shared pool) that a player downstream may pick up. To ensure no turn gets excessively extended, only 2-3 actions may be played (1-2 actions + interrupt/s) per turn. The winner is decided by either: 1. overcoming the end goal region's obstacles (obviously more difficult). 2. fulfilling a series of obstacle challenges (eg. get to the highest point, say a height of 11). 3. fulfill your main character's mission (eg. match a goal with an item in the deck). Go wild!
I'm so happy you talked about this game, though its not one of my personal favorites anymore, its one that I personally enjoy quite a bit.(also low-key, can you talk about Everdell or Mysthea? I've been playing them a lot and I'd love to hear your opinion.)
pretty sure I have those same book shelves, stocked with similar games, same canned air canisters, and same binders... looks weird, like you're in a room of my house or something... (I guess it means we both shop at staples)
Not trying to promote this product or anything, but you seem to push your glasses back up a lot. I use a kind of glasses glue called nerd wax, it helps keep my glasses on my flat nose. So just a recommendation to help you with your glasses. 😁👍
Would you consider chess to be frivolous as well? Because board games have evolved considerably in the last 15 years and they require the same amount of attention and inventive to beat your opponents. It's too bad that you see them so poorly, you're missing out on a huge amount of challenging and fun games
Gotta love auto captions. Now I want to play the game "Wild Lambs"
I'd play that. "Play as one of twelve action hero sheep, including Ram-bo, Max Flock-atansky, Sheep Pliskin, and Black Sheep Dynamite."
There IS a game called 'battle sheep'.
Ewe couldn't handle Wild Lambs.

Great game and pretty simple to play. Would recommend it to anyone who just started the hobby, provided you have three other friends at the table.
