Hey guys, here is a diy on how to do oil change on 2013-2016 porsche cayman/boxster 981. I will be comparing how Porsche did it vs BMW since that's what I fix daily. Relatively simple job and there is no reason to be scared to do it yourself. Enjoy!

Once you get the oil up to temp in the operating range, about 2-3k rpm for a couple of minutes, you can shut off the engine and wait about a minute, then oil level measurement will be available.

Thank you, you can check out video on this channel for transmission service on e9x, your transmission won’t have mechatronic seal but the rest is pretty much the same

Usually that’s a good rule yes, 50-60k miles, zf 8 speed is pretty reliable transmission overall, can’t say the same about n20/26 engine though 😁

No one talks about what Oil Temp needs to be to get a reading! So....many....videos without the information. The manual says "operating temperature" I needed to get to 190 degrees F to get a reading. I hope this helps someone!

I’m not saying they shouldn’t have a dip stick but I’ve added oil to a car between oil changes twice in 22 years.
