    -have a good night's sleep
-Drink water from time to time
-Use active recall, instead of underlining write a question to force you to get the information out of your brain.

Another tip: Understand WHY a concept works the way it does. Understanding accounting in a deeper way can help significantly. Once I understand WHY a thing works the way it does, or WHY an account goes where etc. everything sort of falls into place.

For me, especially in Accounting classes the Practice Problems and exercises in each chapter is the real MEAT. Some of the problems take a long time, but they make you think about and create each step of the accounting process.

Finally I found what I was looking for. I had a 12 year break of studying and now I am back in the game. And the most frustrating thing about studying was that 8 hours straight I was reading and re-writing/taking notes on the studying material. But at the end of the day I didnt remember a thing on what I red. So I got very frustrated on how much time I am putting in to studying but no results. I tried this for the first time on one chapter on my accounting 110 and it works. I am not as frustrated and overwhelmed by taking notes and i can recall the things that I read in the chapter way better than before! Now I am actually excited to study! Thank you so much!!!

How do you memorize all the different rules between IFRS and ASPE? And how could you utilize active recall when accounting hw is mainly word problem based? Is there something else you’d recommend?

I do this thing where I read the textbook and do some of the homework and write down examples of how the questions were asked and how I figured out the solutions for each question. Is this not studying? Am I taking too much time? I don't have a lot of time during the day because I work 35 hours a week, but I have such a hard time grasping the information if I don't take time doing this.
