@shotgunfreak17 I used av gas because i had it sitting around collecting dust, and it couldn't hurt running high octane. These engines have hardened exhaust seats and only about 6:1 compression, so they don't really need it though. In fact, they will burn just about any gas. Taper shaft on the crank if you pull the flywheel, starts at 1 1/2" and finishes at 1". it's easier to use the four bolt pattern and get an adapter to a 1" straight shaft from saturn surplus, then pulleys are easy to find.

avgas is good insurance for the carb. I never had to replace a carb when I was in the Army working on those. Alcohol will ruin the float in those.
I have one liberated from uncle Sam. It is attached to a 3kW 28 volt generator. I have a 28 volt Inverter that happily runs on that power. All I need is a starter, forklift battery and an automatic control system to start the engine and close the breaker when the battery gets below 24 volts.

i have a few questions, why use aviator gas? and how wide is the shaft at the end of it, like what type of shaft?
i pulled one of these of a old genset, these are beastly little engines.

I picked up one of these from a DRMO auction for $80. It looks perfect except the exhaust needs a little work. But I have a small problem. I have never used one of these and I would like to use it on a homebuilt sawmill. But I can not find out where the fuel goes into the engine. I have downloaded the manual and nothing yet. can someone please send me a video link on how to attach the fuel. My goal is to removal the governor and attach it to the sawmill. But I first have to get it cranked.

gnbaird1123 its the coupling. You should be able to find the PMCS (preventative maintainaince/check/service) manual using the info on the data plate, it should say MEP-803 (numbers may be 813, 816, etc etc. or similar), use that to find the pmcs, that will give you step by step instructions on literally everything you want to disassemble
