    Its a really good radio the only issue is the speaker is not as loud or as good as some of my cheaper radios but the hardware is top notch as far as reception and amazing at fm and am

      It was a crazy deal they had no idea what it was honestly I didn't either but it looked cool and for the price why not. I have been totally impressed with it's receiving capabilities I think it's pretty much the best handheld transistor radio there is...

    I own 2 of the big C Crane's and one of these, all great Radio's except for their LCD readout's . The 2 big Radio's all but disappeared and this ones starting to get faint. I know their repairable, but for what they cost the quality of LCD's need to be a bit better.

      @Dennis-uc2gm I agree for the price the display should last but they are great radios.

    So long term comment review: my only real problem with this radio is the sound quality of the built in speaker, the lack of telescoping antenna, and here is a BIG ISSUE; if you leave a battery in it, it’ll leak within a couple of months. Doesn’t matter what kind of battery. There’s a slow constant drain even when it’s off. This does not happen with the Sangean 400W, and the 400 sounds better all around. Overall, the Sangean is the better radio.

      Interesting I have not had that problem with the battery but I agree the speaker is to small for big sound but I use my headphones and it sounds great...

      @@TheElectronMan maybe it’s just mine that does it? I think I read on a forum someone else had the same issue.

      @@jeromebullard6123 Not sure but mine can set for months and when I turn it on batteries are still good.

    Os botões são de borrachas ou plástico rígidos ?

    Qual o desempenho dele sem fones de ouvidos em relação a recepção, pois no meu uso não tem essa possibilidade ?

    What is the range of that radio? Does it pick up radio stations from far away

    • @TheElectronMan
      @TheElectronMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the atmosphere I have picked up stations 1000's of miles away at times...

    Really disappointed that they didn’t include a telescoping antenna. The plug in wire antenna is really tacky and annoying. It is still a nice radio.

      I totally agree! Yeah, it's a great radio with great reception, but having to contend with that WIRE PLUG for FM is annoying! It's a "portable" radio, but to me that stifles the whole idea of using/listening to it while you are on the go!

      I own one and agree the wire antenna does not really work. It flops around too much and cant extend upwards. I am surprised that CC does not offer some type of " rubber ducky" antenna that plugs into the headphone jack maybe something thats 8 in long or something.

    That is NOT a transistor radio.

    • @TheElectronMan
      @TheElectronMan  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am an old fart any little hand held battery powered receiver is a transistor radio to me.. I guess technically it might not be considered what was considered a transistor radio years ago since it uses IC's but it is still is a small portable radio receiver that uses transistor-based circuitry.

      PLL circuit. Way better than most current cheap digital "radio on a chip" circuits, especially for AM DXing. My CCrane EP PRO gets a strong signal during the day from WBAP 820 AM in Dallas 300 miles away. CCrane can`t be beat.

      @@TheElectronMan It`s a really nice nighttime AM receiver for long range signals. Hell, it`s a nice daytime AM receiver compared to most. It will get fringe daytime stations many radios won`t. Combine it with the AN-200 inductive loop antenna for extra long range daytime and a huge boost at night. This loop can also sometimes help cancel out interference indoors if you mess around with it. I made an inductive loop with 17 turns of 24 AWG magnet wire on a 16 inch pizza box using a 450pf tuning capacitor and it blows the AN-200 away. It cost about the same to build after buying the pizza, spool of wire, and the capacitor for 22 bucks. I also got wires with clips on their ends to connect the gangs of the capacitor together and to the loop to make it easier and not have to solder the parts together so I could use the tuner for other loops. I made a four foot loop from a box a solar panel came in that gets great reception on my smaller radios. It`s so fun to experiment with AM loops and long wire antennas.
