wonderful footage... while Penang is still pretty much the same (except for the traffic!) some of the footage of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya are long gone, notably Kuala Lumpur International Airport at Subang (note the remarkable architectureof the terminal building)... that building was torn down a couple of years ago to be replaced by some uninspiring box-like structure. I also note the "Mercedes Benz" building ... that was the Cycle & Carriage showroom for Mercedes, which used to occupy a prominent spot on the way to Subang Airport. Thanks for the post!
Penang is not the same anymore - have you been there recently? Some parts are unrecognisable. A lot of the natural environment has been "developed" (sarcasm intended).

THank you so much for this video; this was the decade that I left for England , after spending my formative years there in Penang. The ambience has been destroyed now by the zero-history mercantilism of the forces that control Kuala Lumpur and the rest of Malaysia, which you so aptly display at the end of the video. This cultural destruction and vandalism will be the hallmark of the regime that runs the country for the global financial oligarchy in indigenous terms.

Sure, people cry with nostalgia for the good old days of past Penang yet people now in Penang live longer, live better, and have more choices. Look at the physiques of older people twisted by hard work and a poor diet when young compared to the younger generation. What's seldom recalled by all this nostalgia for a supposedly simpler, purer life, is the harmony between races, now eroded by PAS and UMNO.

I'm sorry to report that Penang has changed enormously since your video - for the worse.
The iconic Penang ferry has now being replaced by three speed boats which are awful for sure!
For the worst? Really? I'm still staying here for the last 59 years. What worst are you talking about? 🤔
