    I live in the desert & have dry, sensitive skin. So, "winter" moisturizers are actually year round moisturizers for me. The SkinFix triplw lipid peptide cream is my favorite PM moisturizer! I love a thick moisturizer in the PM. I find that that it's really moisturizing but doesn't leave me greasy.

    The SkinFix cream is the best!!! Oily skin here with rosacea and eczema, I don't even use a full pump of it and I do use it over the Niacinamide serum from Naturium and never "noodled" on me. I use it every night and I mix it with the Great Barrier Relief from Krave beauty. It is perfection.

    I LOVE the Pacifica Vegan Ceramide cream. It is fantastic. It has really helped with my screwed up skin barrier. Highly recommend for the winter if you live in an area like me where the temps are cold, the humidity is non existent, the indoor heat zaps any moisture your skin has retained, and winter lasts for at least 6 months. Love this cream.

    I agree, that testing on rabbit ears doesn't mean it will clog pores. Love the Good Molecules moisturizer but wish I could use it at night. It just seems like a day moisturizer only which sucks. Plan on trying the Pacifica one soon and would love to try the Skinfix one but at the moment paying $1 per milliliter is out of my budget.

    I’m surprised how often I see Skinfix listed as a cream that doesn’t clog pores, but it definitely did mine! I’ve got combo skin that’s not breakout prone at all and is generally pretty tolerant of anything I put on it, no matter how heavy, so I was really surprised when this moisturizer left me with a bunch of tiny zits. I kept using it thinking my skin would get over it in time, but no. This is literally the only skincare that broke me out in at least 10 years.

    I have eczema as an underlying issue but my skin is very acne-prone. I don't get severe cystic acne, honestly, I only get moderate acne, but still, I get acne easily and it's pretty much always present on my face and body. I personally find that thick moisturizers that don't break me out have usually had dimethicone or cetyl alcohol (LRP Cicaplast balm, Lipikar AP+ balm, Cetaphil moisturizer). And of course, my skin adores any and all humectants (hyaluronic acid, honey, glycerin, panthenol, etc).

    Over the years, I realized that silicons do break me out, and it took me a really long time to isolate it. But so do niacinamide and vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid) 🙄. So I don’t care for « non comedogenic » claims, and I try, test and use what works for me. Inspired by many products you recommend 😊

      @Dominique The easy minimalist,
      Same here, especially vitamin-c, my face is clear one day and then I go and stupidly apply vitamin-c , and next think I know my T-zone is full of blackheads. I too do not believe there is such a thing as non-comedogenic, ingredient in skin care not because I think all ingredients are the same , but because I believe even those that are not supposed to be pore clogging they really are, at least for some of us. The only difference, I think, is between more comedogenic and less comedogenic. Depressing.

    I had problems with acne breakouts and I have combination skin type. For a while moisturisers couldn't penetrate my skin well enough. At one point it seemed that non of them worked for me. I was advised by my dermatologist to get a luna face brush that gently exfoliate my skin and does the excellent prep for the moisturisers. Ever since, even the lightest moisturisers do the job just fine. My problem was after all in cleansing...

    How are you determining what will clog pores and what won’t ? There’s all different types of oils used in these moisturizers, without using the comedogenic scale how do you know what will and what wont ?

    • @cmntr_
      @cmntr_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ooh that's an interesting question. I'd also like to know if there's an objective way of determining what is and is not comedogenic. But still, everyone's skin is different, so it also comes down to trial and error. Personally, I avoid coconut oil in my skin care, that has helped a lot.

      I use subjective “didn’t clog MY pores” videos and reviews like this to help narrow down the market, and any products that pique my interest, I ingredient- compare against the comedogenicity scale and Incidecoder website. Any chance you can include more options *without* shea butter next time? It gives me acne and makes my milia worse unfortunately, but it seems like so many moisturizers have it.

    Spackle. It’s called spackle. It’s for filling holes in walls. It’s wall mud/sheet rock mud.

    11:10 Were you maybe thinking of gesso? Used to prime oil paintings. Could also be spackle. Used to fill holes in the wall before repainting. Good to have options regardless

    Hey Cassandra ( or anyone on this thread) I was looking at the Skinfix triple lipid peptide cream the other day and very interested. In Canada it cost $100 for the 3.04oz I noticed they make a barrier lipid cream for the body and it’s $60 for 10oz. When you turn and learn they look very similar. Anyone see any issues with using the body version on the face?

      normally the risk you run is the fact that the skin on your face is MUCH more thin and sensitive than the skin on the rest of the body. so if you have sensitive or acne prone skin, that might not be the best option for you. maybe you could see if a friend or someone has a bottle that way you could try it out before buying it? hope you find what you want!!

    Thank you for this video! But I'm in the uk and I cannot find many of the products you've mentioned. The products I have been able to find are very expensive. Have you got any budget friendly uk versions?

    I do have a question. I’m traveling and my moisturiser is almost finished!! I’m flying home on Friday. The only moisturiser I can find here is one with SPF (Nivea’s Refreshing Day Cream). Can I use it at night? I have my real moisturiser at home

    I'm really confused on shea butter. Some people say it will break you out and others say that you will be fine. :/

    • @donaze3217
      @donaze3217 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that confuses me too! But they say that it depends which ingridients on the list are befora shea butter, and if shea butter is not on first places of the list then it is safe…

    I’ve been using the skinfix for a while and from I can tell it works fine - I just don’t care for the experience. It seems a bit greasy once applied and in your hand. I’m used to the very thicc Cereve creme.

    The only moisturizers that don't break me out are gel moisturizers or just really really light stuff, but thicker creams ....always the same sad song.
