I love how the decision to let Ben go or save him is the theme of the Episode: Crawford. Letting Ben die is literally like the people in Crawford, who abandon people who could endanger the Group. So if you're against Crawford and letting Ben die, it's a very well-placed hypocrisy. this episode is very good.
the difference is Crawford murdered people before they ever had a chance to prove themselves. Ben was given plenty of chances, and he just couldn't stop fucking up. it's tragic, but he actively got people killed, so it's more cruel to let him stay with us.
@@jonrice3967 not really. Even Lee say so that Ben situation is Just like Crawford when you defend Ben. Besides, this mindset IS what leds to a Group Fall apart and you Ending alone
@oprofeta6408 im all for giving everyone ample opportunity to prove they can carry their weight and letting sick or dying people stay in the group as long as they don't actively get others hurt or killed. im not saying you should kill Ben, but he needed to at least be kicked out of the group after the motor inn.
@oprofeta6408 it was his fault. his actions caused duck, katjaa, and doug/carley to be killed. he is a dumb kid so i try not to blame him too much but even Ben himself admits his faults
Be strong for the season finale! It's good that you can play these stories back to back. I remember playing on release and having the torment of waiting for the next episode!
I haven’t looked forward to a Let’s Play series by any TH-camr in SO LONG!!! There’s just something so special and nostalgic about Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The characters will stick with you long after you leave them. Super stoked for you to experience the other seasons!
I also 'sacrificed' poor Ben, but the thing with these games is that you never really knew how punishing they would be regarding your choices. If there's a zombie coming after Lee and it's Ben or Lee, sorry Ben but Clem needs him, and Lee's my man. Ben is even asking to make amends and not put any more people in danger. That's part of what makes these games great, even if it's sometimes smoke and mirrors, it puts you in very difficult situations where you feel real danger for the characters. That's one of the things that annoyed me about Detroit, where often if you take selfless actions that in reality would usually get your character killed - instead the game gave you a free pass, making you feel injustice about making more logical, tough but 'bad' decisions.
@@oprofeta6408 I generally try to immerse myself in a game, but obviously there is no avoiding the question of what you would do in a video game as opposed to real life. Real life I would not have dropped Ben, but in the game I just couldn't handle him anymore. The removal of the axe from the door was the last straw for me lol. I mean, Clem is at least 10 years younger than him and yet would realize that the axe was put there to keep the door closed. When he showed up with the axe that he "just found" I had to laugh because it was as if the developers were trolling a video game character. He then proceeds to tell Kenny, AT THE WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT, regarding his actions playing a part in Duck and Katja's death, Brie then dies and I just had had enough
@@clash5j yeah. But his character is the point of the people in Crawford were doing. I Just couldn't let ben die. He was trying his best, even when It got worse, and i know he didn't wanted any of that
You missed the tape that was in the locker, it’s opened with the code you picked off the doctor. It explains Mollys backstory and shows that she was having relations with the doctor for medicine.
I speak for a lot of folks when I say we've seen a lot of playthroughs, this feels authentic and like a real blind play through for a change! So love for the gameplay keep em coming✅🤝🏿
Tough emotional episode, Emma. A bit more about Molly's Crawford story could be found in that locker you passed that needed a combination, which was on the doctor.
I love how she missed the top latter part after she alerted the zombies and then thought it was an insta death, she just didn’t check the top in time! 😭
This part is always a rollercoaster. I think you dealt with the choices well. Looking forward to the final episode of season 1, just reminds me of how good this story really is!
Emma! Emma! You were so close to making the only choice in this game that I could not forgive. Not that it really matters, but for my own sake I'm glad you came clean. One note, you missed finding something that would give you more info on Molly's whole deal. I'm sure you've realised what during the editing process. I believe you on Ben. I let him go on my first playthrough. And it was a harder decision than I expected by that point. He is a constant fuck up and it's hard to remember he's just a kid. Even his last couple fuck ups with the axe and his confession you can understand. We expect someone his age to make smarter decisions, but up until this point they haven't been taught to think through their actions. Sure it's obvious to us, but he'd been used to just follow orders thoughtlessly. Rewarded for it too. And now this happens and everyone has to think on their feet. It's hard and unfair. I really like the inclusion of Ben as a character. It's easy to do everything for Clem who is perfect, or Kenny who risks everything for the ones he loves and (maybe) sticks by you through the hardest times in both your stories, or Carley who is just objectively the most competent and likeable person. Allowing you to let Ben die for being useless while escaping Crawford which kills people for being useless is narrative design gold.
I really wish you let Ben live so that you'd get to see him stand up to Kenny later on and somewhat redeem himself. Thus, in my opinion, that makes a better story. Then Kenny changes his opinion on him in an instant. I don't know if you've seen the different results by now, but i would've loved to see your reactions to it.
