B58 Cold Start Tutorial

- This tutorial walks though starting the Baron B58 on X-Plane 10 Mobile.

Hi there. Jennifer Roberts here with a tutorial for X-Plane. This video was recorded in X-Plane Mobile 10.8 but works mostly the same way on X-Plane 11 for your desktop computer.
Today we’re going to walk through how to start the default Beechcraft Baron 58 from cold & dark.
Here we are in the cold & dark B58. Remember that you can tap the yoke to toggle it on or off, which helps us access the knobs & switches behind it here.
First we’ll turn on the Master Battery, and the alternator switches. Then we’ll move the propeller & mixture levers to full forward as necessary. Move the throttle to full open, then flip the fuel boost pumps to on. Once the fuel flow indicators peak, flip them back to off, then close the throttle. Re-open the throttle approximately ½ in.
Now we’ll start the engines one at a time. Drag the left magneto switch to on and hold it until the engine starts running, which should be for no more than 30 seconds. It will only take a few seconds for us right now. Do the same for the right engine.
Now we’ll adjust the throttle so that RPMs are between 900 & 1000. Check that oil pressure is at 10 PSI within 30 seconds. Now you’re ready to turn on lights as required, check in with ATC and get flying!

Best flight simulator I've ever had, I'm not leaving the X plane, just missing more partnerships with PMDG, fairing, A2A, Aerosoft IXEG ... etc. I was in doubt between P3D and Xplane 11 after I tried the demo version, I do not leave XP anymore, P3D is just the darling, because of PMDG and other addons, but X-Plane has something special about the dynamics of flight and the current improvements, if X plans to get more addon companies like I mentioned goodbye P3D. One thing that is annoying is the tires singing on the track this much exaggerated mainly in light aircraft, and also when flying in dense clouds the light reflected from the strobe light is very strong could correct it grateful.
My switches keep going back to "both" what should I do

Double Trouble so I found you put the magneto on both and keep activate the button in yellow; and just apply the other finger on screen and move it up ... sorry for my poor English

My switch keep on going back to both what do I do?
it goes back to "both" in the real airplane. The knob doesn't stay in the "start" position. It's spring loaded, so as soon as you see the engine start, you release the knob and it clicks back to "both"

At 1:47, shouldn’t you adjust the pitch (not the throttle) to adjust rpm’s?

For a lot of planes, yes. Wouldn’t say for Baron, but it might be.
In no way is the correct procedure... there are a lot of mistakes in this video
Mind reading the RL B58 POH before claiming there’s “a lot of mistakes”? For a Baron 58, turning ON the Alternators is a _pre-start_ procedure.
You are right. I re read the Baron POH and says that turns ON the Alternators before start the engine, only with external power the alternators must be OFF
Without disconsidering other addons hands the PMDG is an icon in the virtual simulation everyone likes and what I most want as many who simulate in the X-plane 11 is a B737NGX for x plane 11. as mentioned above; What is PMDG working on?

IT's good but in PC you only need to use battery,avionics,magnetos,alternators masters and finally lights
x plane 11!!!!!!!!!!!! more addons IXEG ,PMDG ,CARENADO, AEROSOFT, A2A, HIFI simulation, Orbx, ....this is the best simulation platform, better flight dynamics, we need my addons like these. where is the partnership ??? Who enters for the X plane 11 does not leave more, the base of the paltaforma is a success is only missing more addons
pmdg already has one plane out and working on more, carenado has a lot out, aerosoft has a lot of scenery out, Hifi is working on a weather engine, orbx has a few sceneries out already for xplane11

Thanks for this tutorial, but I'm sorry... this is not the correct procedure to startup the engines from cold&dark!! I have the checklists of the Baron 58, and you must switch on the alternators after starting the engines, for instance, and there are more mistakes in this video.
