Great to see the sights since I’m usually the one driving. Gotta admit this bridge scared me as a kid. Mainly because I watched “The Night the bridge fell”.
It's always so exciting when we make it to the bay bridge! Means we are 2 hours away lol! My most favorite part of the road trip, besides the route 50 and/or route 90 bridges into actual OC, windows down smelling the salt air, THE BEST lol.
Drive it every day . From east to west and back. Always exciting. Wind and weather affects my commute. Can be 7min across or 2hrs. Longest trip across was over 6hrs.
I just read an article about the bridge, and many people are afraid of it. I wonder why? It's a beautifully constructed bridge. Best regards from Germany.
Thank you for taking your subscribers along for the ride. Has Maryland decided where the 3rd span to cross the Chesapeake Bay is going to be and when might the project start and finish?
If there's an emergency on the bridge how do emergency services get through? It doesn't look like there's enough room even if the cars move to the side to make a middle path.
They either shut the lane down or open up a lane on the opposite bridge. They use traffic display signs and signs before/on the bridge to notify people of any traffic pattern changes.
that bridge is so narrow and high without any shoulder! how often do people drive off of it!? looks like it wouldnt take much but a bump in the side and a tire catching the wall to bring you over.
The only time I can remember in the last (almost) 20 years is a tractor trailer going over. He swerved to avoid hitting a car. Other than that, it's pretty well built. There was recently a 20 car pile up and no one went over.
@@ReelJayB With the exception of your recent road trip down south, your videos center around OC and nearby communities. Unexpected Bay Bridge visit. Not complaining, still a thumbs up 👍
Many fond memories of going over the Bay Bridge to the eastern shore towns.
Thanks for posting this, I was curious to see exactly this perspective.
Love driving across the bridge. Seeing all the boats, and some of the mansions along the bay. Beautiful drive. I miss Holly's though.
The bridge is my symbol of freedom

That bridge can get scary, especially in high wind!!
Can’t wait July is coming soon then we will be going east bound. Thank for sharing 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍

The 10K Across the Bay is worth doing, at least walking, because you get to be a pedestrian on this span. It's beautiful!
My wife loves doing that race!!

What always amazes me is the heavy fog and not being able to see the water from the bridge. It's eerie but neat to see.

😧😧😧😧😧😧😧
Love crossing the bridge
I've been over AND under that bridge MANY times.
loved being able to see everything , beings i didn't have to watch the road while my husband drives lol beautiful views
it's been many a moon since i've had the chance to drive across the Bay Bridge. now i want some Maryland crab cakes! 😆👍
Can't ever go wrong with a crab cake!!
Think for this update I'm Will be back down there in middle of June and we can meet up soon keep up with the good work reeljayb
This is a very helpful video, thank you. I have a work trip coming up and have to drive over this bridge! 🥴
Just watching this from the comfort of my sofa makes me nervous.
I don't think it looks that bad. Other than being long and narrow and having that lift up center it seems fairly standard.
I'll say this much! This is one bridge that you don't want to break down on!
True
I don’t get the fuss ?

beautiful

Last I heard it was going to be built right next to the existing bridges. But, I have absolutely no idea when they are starting.
@@ReelJayB it will be completed within 50 years, just like 695, 270, and 95.

My sis and I plan on going down the ocean in September!
September is an awesome time! Hope you have a great trip!
Always the highlight of our trip, other than getting to the beach! There is not much to see coming from West Virginia!
You know....it's crazy because it's so flat here that when we see mountains we think how of awesome they look! HAHA
@ReelJayB Yeah, we get tired of seeing Mountains, probably like you get tired of seeing the beach 😂
@@jeremycrow7776 🤣🤣 well....the beach somehow never gets old.
@@ReelJayB I would agree with that! 😁 ⛱️
I’ve never been on this bridge! I’ve only been on the other Bay Bridge in Virginia Beach
When you went across the bridge did you see Miss Paula setting crab pots
LOL I always look for him!! I really enjoy his youtube channel.
The crew from 2 years ago cracked me up randy and Danny
What highway ? I’m at a loss here …
U.S. Route 50 going from Annapolis, MD crossing over the Chesapeake Bay to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
@@BradRains I believe he was going westbound today. so it would be from the shore TO Annapolis.

Gota love the lack of shoulders on old bridges. Like what were they thinking?

Nice video but I was waiting for the commentary in this or at least some music. lol
🤣🤣 hear me ramble the whole time??
@@ReelJayB lol
It makes me nervous that this guy is always driving on the left lane even if the right lane is free. In Germany we say: Rechtsfahrgebot.
Yeah, well, to each their own I guess. Thankfully I live in the 🇺🇸
Not allowed to cross over into another lane on the bridge
Did you drive into Virginia Beach or vise versa??
Drove in VA beach
I probably passed you as we were leaving (OC) today.
Yeah you probably did! At least there wasn't any traffic today, Sunday had some leaving OC.
Whoever wrote this and posted this, but a check under the bed for monsters that’s really scary
No way in hell!
A bit far afield from your bailiwick sir.
You lost me on that one....you mean different than my usual videos?
