Great video Fr Colomba! Another point that came to me is that at these moments we are actually experiencing GOD’S longing for OUR love! So it’s a beautiful exchange. The bigger point is that its not about us in the end. It’s about HIM and His Greater Glory! When we accept His Will by surrendering to everything because He either Wills it or allows it, we experience the fruits of His love in the form of peace and serenity.

Im just back from Youth fest in Medjugorje, where i kept asking the Lord and Mary to get me back close to him, as it once happened to me there, years ago, but nothing happened. This dryness seems to be going on for so long and i was getting desparate, disappointed. And bam, this video. I hope you are right. @@RebeccaLynne2046 Thanks! Yes, the fact that love is not a feeling helps me persist. What makes it so hard is the constant accusation of "im not doing enough" and such. As fr Mike said in a recent video, that might be a pride problem. Either way i feel like im swimming in a sea full of trash and cant see the lifeguards boat. I trust it ll get better tho. And fr Columba's words helped. He really says wise things. 😁
This is an answer to pray! I really needed to hear this as I am going through what you have just described and I have been confused as to what was going on and discouraged. I have not experienced this spiritual emptiness before. Thank you for your wonderfully simple teaching and insight. You have given me encouragement, hope and faith to continue to seek the Lord even in times like this. Bless You🙏
Great big thoughts. I like em. Burning bush moments are great. Intense. Bright. And then there’s the ordinary stuff. Light filtering through the trees. Dogs rolling in the grass. Just the predictable days. Dry times are like the opposite of the burning bush moments. But the real trick is the ordinary. Holy boredom. Pausing and there He is.
i am alone but i have divine mercy our blessed mother saints and angles there for care and help i ask my heavenly father to father me to when i feel down they help me always thank you and god bless all there so powerful the power of prayer
My prayer feels like I came out on date but I other person never came 😮 My heart is longing for Lord feels alone but my faith is saying Lord is here just be patient and keep on going. Lord help me to persevere and to keep on coming to pray no matter how I feel. This video gives me hope 🙏

We should be careful to differenciate spiritual desolation (which is a trial) from acedia (which is a sin). Let’s us never stop chasing you, Lord! And may You find us ❤
