- We react to The Father of Goku. To be honest we had somewhat low expectations going into this movie but after watching it we came to the realization that it was much better than we thought. The way they incorporated a little bit of Dragon Ball Z into this film made it much more enjoyable, especially considering we just finished it. So far we have gotten through two of the Dragon Ball movies and they are not dissapointing.

I believe this was technically a tv special not a movie. It released when Goku and everyone was on Namek. Based on the tv special Toriyama added Bardock to the manga for a panel where Frieza sees Goku and remembers Bardock. So it was basically canon until Toriyama wrote DB Minus and DBS Broly and retconned Bardock’s story. Personally I preferred this original Bardock and backstory but the new one is pretty good too.

BTW the voice actor for goku was the same person you guys are used to. This was just at the beginning of his career as Goku over 15 years ago. He's a lot more experienced now (like kai)

Not all of us grew up with subs, most of us watched it when it came on Toonami so it grew on us

@TheLegendryZelda Yeah I'm not shaming you for how you got into it as a kid cause you were a kid im saying the quality for the sub is better because the dialog and voice acting is better in the sub vs the dub that changed the script completely and very much censored the dialog
