Even though (of course) this isn't the original arrangement, Bette's version just builds so brilliantly. Perfectly performed - with full conviction, passion & 200% of herself in this song.
The lady can sing. Puts her voice, heart and soul into her music. Was lucky to see The Divine Miss M twice (close to the stage), she puts on a great show. I still have "Mud Will Be Flung Tonight" in my car, throw it in when I need a pick me up. She is definitely one of a kind.
I've only had the chance to see her once. Mud Will Be Flung is a hilarious act. I can recite it along with the track. I still listed from time to time! Why bother/
Have loved this beautiful human being since the late 70's. She's a treasure, 1 and only. Saw her live in the early 2000's & she gives everything. Grateful to still have her with us! ❤The Divine Miss M
6:04 When Bette gets to the part what she sings,,,, they say everything can be replaced,,,. She's wrong!! The last time I saw my very best friend was the night we went to go see this movie called ,🌹The Rose. A few days after that night,, my best friend, my sister not my blood ,,was killed 🎉😢 It's been over 40 years and I still haven't found such a dear friend as her😢 4:53
@@deborahhelvig2869At her Madison Square Garden show a bunch of years ago, Bette joked: remember the old days when we were all taking drugs, and now, we're all taking medication? I am still scratching my head over the choice for her Broadway swan song; Hello, Dolly is a frivolous show made famous by the ancient (and brilliant) Carol Channing. It's a story about a withdrawn, aging, old widow. What in the world is our vivacious Divine One doing in such a vapid commercial enterprise? Well, she IS an old woman. And that's my distress. How could a Queen of my gay youth, who evolved into THE queen of my gay life, how can Bette be the same age as Old People?
Oh, The divine Ms. Bette, I good woman with her heart and head in the right place, never sold out, and way underappreciated. A Decent humble woman, look how she went off stage and insisted her background singers come out and bow. She can do it all Sing, Dance, Actor of immense talent being able to play any role lead or supportive comedy or serious, Stand Up Comedy, songwriting, and public speaking. A true National Treasure.
I own this concert on DVD, hard to believe she had bronchitis andover a 102° fever throughout this whole show/performance! THE DIVINE Ms. M.. an absolute TREASURE💯 If you haven't seen the movie The Rose, you must look for it!
My bad. I was reading the synopsis when the name Kitchen Richards caught my eye. Not paying attention to the blip or to Bette's introduction, I was kinda shocked that this particular song was written by Keith Richards. I thought, in the back of my mind that Bob Dylan had something to do with this gem, but I couldn't recall ever hearing his version. So, it was actually Keith Richards (yet again I had fallen into the black hole of a know-nothing Millennial). I was so excited to share my new knowledge, despite the fact that it didn't exactly fit the mold of a Stones' anthem. Of course, I had memorized "I saw her today at the reception..." years ago when I first took notice of the credits' background theme, in the immensely charming, Boomer, coming of "grown-up" age despair. A real weepie once I got home. You know, Bette, we Boomers were going to change the world. This Lawrence Kaslan classic gave me a real jolt, forced me to "see my life's reflection." Cinema once had the balls
Hola pata todos los que nos encanta Betty, alguien tendrá este concierto que nos lo trasmitieron por canal 5 por 199, no lo he encontrado completo. Espero alguien lo pueda subir. Gracias
So does Walter Trout, he is amazing, and what about Nina Simone... There are 200 cover versions, for instance by Big Mama Thornton, Rod McKuen, Jerry Garcia Band, Chrissie Hynde, Paul Weller and Jeff Buckley to name a few..... lol 🙂😉
@@michaelmartinez8418 Thanks, I couldn't tell for sure since she was on a short time...I'll never forget the first time I saw The Harlettes...as mermaids in wheelchairs!

If I have 22 years of experience in the production in the oil field, doesn't that make me a better sales person, I don;t want too be anyone's BOSS!!! I just have a lot of knowledge... I just want too be able to pay my rent, and buy groceries!!! FROM CARLSBAD, NM...
Saw her in concert twice in the 70's. At 73 I can remember how fantastic she was. Keep going sweet lady.
Bette live in concert is a transforming experience. Any time, any venue Bette is awesome!
Check out killers glasgow
Don't think there is a performer anywhere in the world who could follow that finale ❤
She just makes this song such a grip on my heart and I am 76 yrs old. God Bless, we all need to be released.

Bette's performance proves that great music even as far back as the '70s ❤1:08 Never dies. It never dies cuz it's that damn good❤

Just think 5 years ago, she was in her mid 60s! WOW!

This is the best live performance ever. Thank you, Bette.
Tudo o que ela faz, vira ouro! Grande mulher, grande cantora, grande atriz, estupenda, rara.
To see Bette live is like seeing Heaven.
This is. real and true talent. Don't need flashing lights, explosions and 20 dancers.
