This song is about the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.
Three years after the disaster.
What we lost was too great, and we looked forward hard to recover and did not stop our steps desperately. However, in our hearts, we were still carrying great pain.
We listened to this song and realized that we had worked so hard to endure our grief, and then we were healed.
That is why this song still brings tears to my eyes.

I love this song. That being said this song was actually written because of the tsunami that happened in Japan in 2011. The MV is so heartbreaking. I always cry ❤❤

Actually, this song was written in tribute to the victims of the tragic 311 earthquake & tsunami on March 11, 2011 (311). Listen to the lyrics.. it’s really a beautiful song. 🎶

The song about his friend who passed away was "Good Goodbye". As someone already mentioned in the comments, this one was about the tsunami in 2011 in Japan and the nuclear desaster that followed. I think the music video is even more emotional.
