For me, the best indicator of how your beard will turn out is to look at your father. My father always had a thick beard to me growing up, and I would look at it with envy into my 20s.
Looking at old photos, he suffered the same "fuzzy" phase that I was going through. Now in my mind 30s, my beard is exactly as his was when I was admiring it all those years ago.
If your dad has a weak beard, then I don't know what to tell ya. Lol
I know what to tell you: minoxidil, tretinoin, microneedling. Once that foundation is established, you can start looking into more exotic adjuncts like bimatoprost, stemoxydine, oral castor oil and diclofenac

You ABSOLUTELY positively hit the nail on the head!!!!! I had the exact same beard style as him @ 18!!!. About the age 28-30 it’s as THICK as ANYONE has ever had!!! I guarantee it!!!!!

38, and mine is still hopefully maturing. I still notice more new hair in my mustache coming in to fill above and the center more. And maybe new in the cheek area too. I think I may never get any under bottom lip with that pattern you mentioned.
Mine took until I was 50 to get to where I am today.
Use Minodoxil
Some Celebrities use Minoxidil as well to grow beard.
My beard didn't start getting more full until my late 20s. It was a bit disappointing up until that point but eventually my hair did finally start to fill in.

I have a decent beard at 44. at 18 I barely could grow side burns

True. My beard started to grow at 19, but I couldn’t grow a full beard till 27. Now I’m 29 and I’m still noticing improvement.

So I only could grow a goatee all the way till 25. I could see SOME hairs, like 15-20, on my cheeks but almost nothing. I got sick of it and hopped on minoxidil and not gonna lie it has changed my life. I probably would’ve waited 20 years to get where I am now at only 9 months of minoxidil treatment. I highly recommend it for people that are mid twenties and can’t really grow anything

What would you do with a thin beard with decent coverage. I’m thinking it may need to just be stubble. What do you think.
I’m 49 btw. My mustache is strong and my beard is thin but not patchy.idk if that makes sense. Lol
@@mattgordon1977 Maybe try a beardstache? Long mustache and short or stubble beard. If i had a stronger mustache myself i would rock that style!

I was a towhead as a kid and didn't achieve the ability to grow a full beard until my mid 30's. Now in my mid 50's it comes in quickly and full, but its all white 😂

Your testosterone peaks at around age 20. So if beards get better with age, then there goes the testosterone theory.
i think its more of a reaction to the testosterone. There are plenty of dudes out there with off the charts testosterone but can't grow a beard.

HA---I havent been this heavy (I weigh 203 pounds at 6'-2") save for a few moments in 2020. I am up 8 pounds since December. I think what we are seeing is....drumroll.....AGE.
