Wishing you a Wonderful Christmas Michael. Looking forward to another year filled with your so enjoyable podcasts full of your creative delights. Thank you for those of 2024 x
Merry Christmas 🎄!!! And Happy Holidays! You are living one of my dreams- to have a completely handmade wardrobe. Keep creating beauty in our world. Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Beautiful makes! Your hand spun yarn looks great to me. The pants look so good! It brought back a memory of making myself shorts when I was in elementary school. Makes me want to try sewing again. Peaceful holidays to you. Thanks for your kind thoughts at the end. ❤
I love your sweater. As a retired educator, I relate to the crazy week you have ahead of you! Again, a wonderful episode.( Love the pants and your willingness to make what you want to wear.)
Petra in Jordan, The pyramids and King Tut's tomb and the Egypt trip itself we did, was fantastic. These might be poor countries, but the people are happy. Norway was amazing. Our school system here in Australia is spoilt, with 6 weeks of school holidays. Co-incidentally, Im knitting Andrea Mowry's traveller Hoodie in yarn I inherited. It sat in the bag for 4 years and I finally had a lightbulb moment to match it up with her pattern to make the yarn sing. Have a great Xmas and Best wishes for the New Year.
Let's go! Snap that fan!🪭! Christmas is coming too fast. Enjoy your kiddies' performances then enjoy your time off! Loving your yarn! Glad to see you back on track! It is chilly. Working on a blanket helps! You still are the sock king! Is The Nutcracker playing near you? Love that ballet 🩰!
Congrats on sewing - it's the best for having things that fit the way you want them to. For back pockets, stitching a design on the pocket before stitching them onto the pants leg is an easy upgrade. Putting a zipper in is easier than you think. I've been sewing for over 60 years, and it makes me think of everything differently (I see steps instead of just the whole). JoAnn's has stretch wide-wale corduroy that would be great for Chicago weather! Corduroy used a little more fabric because it requires with-nap cutting. You could get an idea of how much fabric you'll need by looking at a commercial pattern catalog and checking the required fabric for 44" and 60" wide fabric for a style like you are planning to make. That will also show a with nap (corduroy, velvet, etc.) and a without nap (linen, denim, etc.) fabric requirement. Leftover bottom weight fabric also makes nice tote bags.
My bff recently finished her first garment out of her own handspun and my *favorite* thing to do is tell anyone who comments on it that "not only did she knit it, she made the yarn!!!" 😄
I have a tutorial for cut-in afterthought heels, I do it the same way as you, if people would like a video for it. th-cam.com/video/9lnVEAYTw6U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FtZ8sHFu010EsulD

This is the kind of support we all need. 🧡
Does the yardage change drastically after washing? I know nothing of hand spun.
What was the name of the pants pattern???
They are the Loose Linen Pants by Wardrobe by Me.

Hi Michael
Be careful laying out your fabric because if your fabric has a Knapp it will ruin your garment 😱 x

Yeah, wearing our makes feels great because we are supporting our hobby and being less wasteful in purchasing things that don’t fit us right 🫶
