That cabin looks to good to be torn down. It may need lots of work but in the end it will be worth it plus it is part of history that's still standing and it is worth saving
We just bought some floor braces earlier this week. We are gonna brace it back up and level the floors so it will be all stable. We also just cut down two trees for the new wall we are planning on putting up.
When I saw the first video of this place I thought no way was it savable! I could not stop watching your progress! How amazing that cabin is! I am so happy you are saving it and I know it is going to be precious. But I just have to say how amazing your family is as well. What a great team you are and hard efficient workers. So heartening to watch. I cant wait to see this project complete!
If you get a sled kind of thing, it would help you move things without hurting your back so much - people use those trays from Home Depot or Lowes & put a rope on it. It would help move animal feed later on. Don’t forget to ask people to subscribe- you’re getting good views for a new channel! It’s a great property!

I know gardening was mentioned but do y'all plan on animals as well? A chicken tracker would be an excellent start over a garden area. My best to you and yours!
Yes. We plan on a few animals. Chickens, goats and maybe a couple pigs when we get it all going. I never raised pigs before but I really want to have them. I’m thinking of building a chicken tractor soon for the growing season.
Too bad bout your Dad’s back,i know what it’s like have lower back being out and it’s probably the worst part to go bad.Mine is just like that.I also would recommend he wear the back-brace the other way around,laces out on your front side where the full end supports his back much better,I made same mistake when first got mine. Shame the dumpster guy didn’t just drop it directly next to the cabin where all the garbage was. I like the idea of repurposing the cabin and buttoning up all the open areas,repurposing the cool stone chimney where it collapsed.From your first video i caught where you took the picture and used its thumbnail as cover photo it was probably the best thing you did because it looks so nice and be a shame losing it.What area of US are you in?Thanks again enjoying the video series today.
I found it by chance about five months ago on a land and farm site for North Carolina. When we first found it it was under contract. But the man who was buying it lost his job. I hate that he lost his job. In turn the property came back on the market. I looked by chance on the same site and it said for sale. (This was about three months ago.) We made an offer and closed within a week or so.
I’m so happy you are restoring it!! Makes me happy when people restore history. I’m hoping to do it someday soon.

only a non thinker would tear this old house down. it has good bones rebuild it live in and love it.

Me and my family decided to restore it and I’m gonna live in it. The outside will look rustic and the inside will be kinda modern.

Need a wagon on back of 4X4! My neighbor uses bed of old truck,he made into trailer.Tows on back of riding mower!
We have something similar we pull around. My dad made a small trailer for moving heavier items. We are gonna take it up there soon.
