Thanks Kyle and company. Fun drive. I like the Arteon Shooting Brake more than the sedan. It reminds me of the Charger/300 wagons from Chrysler (aka Stellantis). Nothing wrong driving in a station wagon if it's bad ass looking...and fast to boot.
Got a 2021 SEL P R Line Arteon, if it was a PHEV, it would be the perfect car for all the tech it offers. Now they have a shooting brake AND PHEV in EU? Amazing.
I was just thinking about the term, Shooting Brake earlier today. It was decades ago,all estate cars were called shooting brakes, then the term seemed to disappear
wish this was here in states....I need storage for wheelchair in back and so I currently drive an suv...but its getting harder to get my handicapped mom up in it...this would be great for my situation! Great road tripper too...
I’ve got the Passat which is the sedan version of this car. The problem is that there’s quite a bit of torque for an open diff front wheel drive car. It’s very difficult to put the power down and will spin its wheels even in the dry.
They never sold the PHEV in NA, and they already killed the Arteon in Canada. I’d bet you can only buy the Arteon for another year in the US as they only ever sold a few.
Thinking of buying one of these Arteon Ehybrid's but read some thread on forum that the Power/Breaks aren't enough for the size of the vehicle. I am going to commute to work so shouldent be any problem ? i meen overtaking cars in 80kmh wont be a problem right ?
How did you manage to run out of Batterie? In GTE Mode Batterie is kept at about 50%...if empty from driving Hybrid only, it gets loaded again to 50% in GTE Mode...and I drove about 240km/h with my Passat GTE on Autobahn. And if you switch to Sports Mode, it is just a DCC Mode and your are back to Hybrid Mode only...means only electric Boost during Kick down and the Batterie gets complete empty and will never recharge! ...if you did not Set a base Level in Settings.
I'm waiting on you doing Chevy super cruise. Also possibly the Cadillac Lyriq. GM is reinventing itself with eletric cars. Buick, Cadillac, and Chevy are leaning hard with eletric with its Ultium battery, with GMC keeping it consumer base.
The term 'shooting brake' originated in the UK in the 1890s and referred specifically to a horse-drawn cart, designed specifically to carry a hunting - or shooting - party, their equipment and any spoils of the hunt.
This would easily be my next VW if they offered it in the states, especially in PHEV form. Love my VW Alltrack that I currently drive.
I bet 200k subscribers will come in less than a year. So much good content!
Totally impressive! Thanks Kyle and crew!!

The Arteon SB is selling really well in Germany. It’s been a real success after the normal Arteon only did so so
I have a vw arteon in the us
I love the car I wish the shooting break is coming to the us

Miss this old school wagons on US roads... Too many SUV's
So you get the Arteon R in the US? Would be fun to see a lap on the Ring wit an Arteon Shooting Brake R. 🌶

The shifter IS the wrong way round, you're right... I drive an Arteon and that is one of the many minor things that annoy me about it.
Well, there's a memo I missed. When did we start calling station wagons shooting brakes?
In Europe we've been doing that for a while already - specifically for fast wagons that is - Ever heard of an RS4 / RS6 before?

You’ve learned something new!
