Security staff seem sound but the way they use the barrier leaves it a little weaker than it was designed to be.
The drone goes over for an overhead shot which leads to a driver speaking to us.

i like how you highlight gates and barriers as part of security, it's one of my jobs to help fix them.

i collect cars from bca sites... you get the oringinal key on exit they scan the car and take the spare from the box and present it to you...nothing to do with an alarm

I used to work on site there as a contractor, there is no public bidding any more, everything moved online once COVID hit, the site is basically as it was without public mass entry, it really is click ad collect now, most staff even work from home still where possible, same for all the BCA sites, i have moved abroad, I was waiting to see when you would visit some of my old sites 😀 on this particular site they have 2 commercial bidding halls in the one building, obviously no longer in use, and then the main building with 2 bidding halls and large canteen, sadly it's all been repurposed, We Buy any Car and Cinch are both BCA companies, BCA also operate in quite a few European Countries 17 locations i seem to recall on some site bumf seen on the walls within the offices, quite happy discuss sites i've been to if you want some detailed information been to all sorts of places , Leicester/Northampton/Derby/Nottingham/Birmingham
i bought a sierra estate from an Auction bright red imaculate elec tinted windows when i got it home it had a 4ft piece of 4x2 wood accross the back end from one side to the other side from one spring acroos too the other spring .holding it up .
They came like that from the factory didn't they? Mine used to break down every time it rained.

They still use those gates like that and broken one has not been fixed. Satellite view shows they park cars behind it prevent someone driving thru.

A lot of the manufacturers of these electric cars, won't replace the batteries, I know tesla wont, as I have seen a video of a person who converted his tesla to a petrol engine due to not being able to get replacement batteries from tesla themselfs, they would not even take the car in to replace them using their own engineers etc, a battery powered car is basically just throw away, once the batteries are losing their power to keep the charge, you will have to part ex it back into to buy another one, and the old one will be recycled, not to mention the amount of resources needed to make the batteries, the pollution to make them, transport them, etc, it is mind boggling, not to mention the increases in electric prices for those who charge their cars at home, even without a electric car to charge, I am currently using around £12 of electric per day, my current vehicle uses around £50 of fuel per month, to cover the milage I currently do, which is around 400-500 miles.
odd that they completely replaced mine for free ... also odd that we paid to have my wife's leafs battery upgraded a few years ago for a few grand ( that was because she wanted a longer range )
@@boomjames I did say a lot of manufacturers won't, I did not state that all manufacturers won't replace them, tesla is one of them, as I said there is a series of videos around about a man trying to get get tesla to replace the batteries, and even asked them to use their own engineers they still refused, so he converted it to petrol, think the guy was from the USA.
I currently pay £0.09/kWh for off peak electricity. At an average of 4 miles/kWh my fuel cost is 2.3 pence per mile. Charging at home is still the cheapest fuel cost, Tesco's free charging aside. Are you assuming that all car batteries will fail before the end of life use of the car?
@@stulop the average life span of a rechargeable battery is 3-5 years for example a car battery, never mind using a series of batteries to run an entire car and doing thousands of miles per year, causing the batteries to be recharged multiple times during their life, and of course the more they are charged/discharged the lower the efficiency is, and you expect the batteries to last hundreds of thousands of miles, and replacing the batteries is going to cost a lot of money, and that's if the manufacturer will actually do it as I have stated some of these electric, supposedly zero emissions cars won't change them, even using their own service personnel, and not to mention the electric motors, costing a lot of money to replace.
I state zero emissions vehicles but they aren't really as the resources to just make the batteries alone is astronomical, not taking into account the electric motors etc.

PS don't write off diesel just yet . The have successfully tested 20% synthetic diesel ⛽️ they are getting closer to testing 50% synthetic already . The big oil companies are not going Away.

Pretty sure those gates don’t pass health and safety. I’m sure they are meant to have a emergency stop strip so that if it does close on something it should stop.
They drain the fuel tanks on these vehicle's as well and just leave enough to get the motor a few miles.

BCA own WBAC and Cinch. Easy money for them.
Cars that end up in auction can be put through by;
- private individuals
- finance companies that sell the car to get some money back note the value in auction matters for the person they're recovering the debt from so if it's smashed to shit and it goes for a low amount, then that person will still owe the difference (if that makes sense)
- insurance companies that 'buy' the vehicle off whoever their customer is in the event of a write off and such
- part exchanges that aren't worth keeping
- and likely a few others that i cant think of
Auction makes their money off of fees (which are typically reasonable to be fair, and i can't speak for this place in particular on their fees) and I suspect they may take a slight cut
So i.e you win a car at 2000, you may pay around 300 in fees and if i remember there's 200 in tax. Something like that. I can't recall 100% but that's about the jist of it, what % the auction gets and the one who put it through I couldnt say but I'd imagine it'd be 30% goes to the auction.
Funfact - most cars at used dealerships come from auctions with quite a big price difference. You could save a good £500-1000 but you definitely aught to be aware of what to look for in a car like if the rear wheel is misaligned, rust in the wrong places, what the tyres are like, etc so you can factor in what amount of money needs to be spent on it if any. Whether dealers do all that for you I can't be sure, and I would bet there's plenty that do not. Auctions are great though ultimately!
They control the market by only releasing a few hundred a month DJ to keep the price Artificially high because of shortage of cars and they sell cheaper but they get you into a ( Finance contract.) That's how the make there money mate !so you end up paying more in the long run ..

The bidders pay a fee, plus pay for the car and pay for shipping. That's the way it's done in the states

A pokey Range rover in reverse with diffs locked 🔒 would defeat that barrier, 2.5 tonnes with some momentum and its just a matter of basic physics.........
And plenty of 10t or more, commercial vehicles that could easily ram their way out of ANY barriers, I worked at an auction centre that got done, pretty sure it had some inside involvement, they bypassed security barriers and gatehouse by ramming the steel fence down and exiting via a farmers field, utilising the companies own trucks to shift cars all weekend 😳 😀
DJ I'm pretty sure the health and safety boys would not be Happy with pedestrians entering and exiting that site, between automated steel barriers?

Breaking down the barrier to get vehicles out in a robbery wouldn’t be easy as they would need to move the cars they stole before the cops got there and also have some way to either start the car or transport it, that would take some doing.

People get wound up when their faults are highlighted by these auditors. I like DJs style as he at least informs people what he's doing and explains the legalities. There are others out there (AB particularly) that do literally just wind people up.

A lot of cars are ex motability cars
EV’s are a joke what are they going todo with the depleted batteries they are an environmental hazard. Just like spent nuclear fuel rods. Give me the combustion engine and I am happy much better and I don’t have to wait six hours to charge the battery.
When the car dies, the batteries will be repurposed or have their elements chemically recovered to be used again. They will not be an environmental hazard and are not comparable to nuclear fuel rods. My electric car charges while I'm asleep. If I need a top up when out I'm not waiting 6 hours for it, not even 30 minutes, I'm not waiting at all, it's charging while I'm having a coffee and a pee. The people that have never experienced or owned an EV, then put ridiculous opinions out there are a joke.
I would probably cut the bit where you use your thumb on the throttle, which makes your e-bike a motorbike, which requires additional insurance/license. once you blur it out delete this comment so nobody is the wiser. lol
