VW hired a different team for Phaeton, this was like a different company altogether. Back in 2008-2011, vw Phaeton was considered amongst Top 10 Best Employers. Everything was focused on the quality but VW being VW they couldn't make agressive design changes to a normal eye this is just a Passat.

Honest, the Volkswagen Phaeton was really bullshit, an Audi A8 is in my opinion much more luxury, but the Genesis G90 of the year 2020 by Southkorean Hyundai is my favorite
