I ain't buying it. I'm a Marine and I've been to war and had all the mental problems, did all the drugs, and drank all the alcohol. So did all of my friends I was there with and not one of us did anything like this. We lost 5 there and 6 after we got back. Close to half of our unit has purple hearts. This guy is pure evil. Men talk about women's jealousy, but men's jealousy is deadly. Instead of being happy being someone who had also chosen a career of service, he decided to take her life because he couldn't control her and keep her small. Why TF they gave so insecure and deadly a person the possibility of parole, I don't know. He is a deceiver who _never_ liked his wife. He just used her, and when he sensed his control was slipping, he savaged her as though she was someone who had done him great harm.

Thank you for saying that, and you are so correct! He is using ptsd as an excuse, and for those who actually have ptsd, it's so wrong! I know! I got ptst that developed over the years until it became too much. Sa as a child, video voyeurism as a young adult with no laws at the time, date r**** after being drugged, giving birth to then having my dad die of cancer to then me having cancer. Massive surgery with a hysterectomy, cervix removed and rebuilt, found a hernia and fixed, etc. Got out of surgery, and the nurse came in and said she was taking me off morphine. I thought i was getting another pain med. Nope! I didn't receive pain meds for 8 hours, screaming, and the head nurse who did this came in and told me to shut up! " Stop being a whiney b****! She put the phone out of reach! A lovely young woman 8 hours later asking if i wanted a magazine came in. I begged for her help! My angel. She gave me the phone and i called my mom. Please call Dr. c. The magazine lady told me to hold her hand . I said no i will squeeze too hard and break it. 10 minutes later, a team of 7 came in. Shot my butt , iv etc. The next morning, i got up, dressed myself, and as soon as i heard my doctors voice in the hallway, i went out there. I saw the orders from anesthesiologist and doctor clearly stating pain meds as i had my insides cut out and rebuilt. I was supposed to stay in the hospital for 5 to 7 days. One day later i begged him to release me and told him that after that, give me a script, and I'll be fine as there is no amount of pain after that pure torture i can't handle now. Yes, there are other situations too. I've been through a lot! Just recently, i had to take care of my stepdad who went blind and 2nd bout of lung cancer. 24 /7 care and could not be left alone. Make food , cut up food, and linens changed 5 to 10 times daily as he soiled , baths, and on and on. 14 months, i stayed at home and couldn't leave to take care of him! Got groceries delivered , fielded phone calls for him phone calls from hospice for weekly appts at half an hour for nurse for his ned meds, social worker, doctor, etc. I would only get a small cat nap here and there. To top it off the phone calls from his family and friends. Keeping track of his pills to reorder from nurses, etc. It was a lot!! He got his wish to die with dignity with me by his side. I handled that well i think , but during the 14 months i took care of him my boyfriend of 18 years passed of heart attack, my best friend of 44 years passed of MS and my 3 kitties who ranged from 18 to 21 passed. Oh, and my uncle passed. My stepdad had ptsd too, but he was the sweetest pea. We'd sit for hours in his room in my house and id play songs he loved. My consosolation is giving my army vet step dad with ptsd a beautiful end to his life and sharing memories together. Im so sorry for the long story. That's only a portion of it! Anyway, thank you for your post ! It means a lot to those who actually have ptsd!! Wishing you a blessed new year!! Best wishes!!

Sounds like he's angry and jealous of his wife because he can't be the person she is. All of us who fought on a battlefield have some level of PTSD we're trained to use good judgment and restraint. If you're angry, it's probably at the person in the mirror. This case really got to me. This guy is definitely a narcissist. I can understand any mother wanting to protect your child. However the military does teach you to fight but it teaches you to defend. It doesn't train for you to go kill your spouse because you have PTSD and you're pissed off. I do not agree with using that as a defense in his case.

Vet returning for the most part sucked it up and went on with life because it was so sweet to have made it back home. Most all cases where folks try to claim diminished capacity or “temporary” insanity are totally bogus imo… they all show knowledge and understanding exhibited by their actions that they knew full well what they were doing and did.
