As a quad, this joystick surpasses all others concerning accessibility. The screen is much easier to read outdoors, the mode and profile buttons can be used in two ways - awesome. The cntrl 5 box is built far superior than they were four or five years ago. A tight joystick has taken some getting used to but I'm there after several weeks. SAME electronics as Permobil, I'm counting on thousands of miles of trouble-free years in my QM710!

Very easy to understand and operate. Track your trip miles or total distance miles on the display window. Well thought-out electronics and controller!

Is it possible to program these controllers yourself? Can you buy one with a new chair? Or does a supplier need to do it?

Could someone assist me in finding a specific joystick for the Permobil M3 Corpus wheelchair? Despite contacting Permobil, I've been unable to locate any information about it. However, I did manage to find details about a similar version from Permobil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What if your M3 only has 2 profiles, how do you get into setting to program it..? in profile 2 highest speed, it only goes 2-3 mph. That is too slow.

Why are there still buttons? Why do we not have touch screens? How hard would this be to develop? Mobility devices: old, antiquated, little innovation.

+symphoniez Physical buttons are great because they allow tactile feedback. This allows the user to be able to operate the buttons based on touch alone, whereas touchscreens require the user to look at the screen as selections are made. Additionally, touchscreens require a high level of dexterity to make accurate selections consistently. In summary, physical buttons are more accessible to more people compared to touchscreens.

I personally do not do well with touch screens like the ones found on smartphones . What really would be helpful would be a joystick with built in GPS with accurate city maps with location details, an emergency/ panic button that will work everywhere along a forward facing pinhole camera with a fisheye lense and mic that automatically records and uploads to the cloud when the panic button is pressed. Safety features are what is important for the truly vulnerable and it would also make them more independent because the would feel safer.

What if the screen needs calibration? That's too much. Switches and knobs are just fine for power wheelchairs.
