I can't say I won't miss the subscription boxes, but you're totally right, at this point in time they don't make sense anymore. And the idea of going on a rediscovery tour is very exciting! I can't wait to see what marvels we will uncover. Maybe we could somehow add in prompts as well? I know Jelarts has/had a jar with slivers of paper with prompts suggested by her followers on them, and she'd take out one or two prompts for a video. That might be fun? Of course, no guarantee they'd be more inspiring than the box prompts, I'm sure there would also be curveballs in those

I still got enough new things to make me want to give them another year...though I did just get my second Cottsman travel water color set...Anyhoo, I am really excited about the art supply lotto videos, I think they will be a lot of fun.
I've just canceled my Scrawlrbox subscription too (although I will get boxes I've paid for until my subscription runs out). They seem to have a standard rotation for certain mediums now, and I figure that I can watch other people's unboxing videos and buy the supplies if I like anything I see. I have loads of boxes that I've opened but not really used as I've had a busy year with my puppy/adolescent dog. 😊 I'm so glad things are getting better for you and look forward to seeing the changes to the channel in the coming months. 😊

I really enjoyed the subscription box videos, pretty sure they were how i came across your channel back near the start of lockdown. but with more recent ones it definitely felt like you werent enjoying them much, so im glad you're moving on to something that it sounds like you'll have some more fun with ❤
We had the same thoughts this years, Gem. I also cancelled my ScrawlrBox subscription this year. But it's been quite a long time coming, I guess. I just wasn't motivated to create anything for the prompts anymore. The supplies were fine, most of them. But seriously, I have more art supplies than I'll ever use up in my life. I usually have my go-tos, which is colouring, watercolours and sometimes acrylics. And that's basically it. And I also have so much paper accumulated over the years... it's hard for me to find supplies a new home here, when I don't use them.

Gem, I forgot to mention, Sarah Burns is an Artist living in Scotland and she has a subscription box through Craftamo. They are gouache boxes and so many people have been raving about them, have you seen any of these being unboxed? She has a brush box from the same company, but these are using gouache and have supplies for creating paintings with gouache. maybe you can just follow what she is doing and create your own box video? I know your not into getting another box subscription, but you could certainly follow the idea of a gouache video series! Ah, Ok thanks for just doing what you do. Have a lovely day!
I agree, subscription boxes time has passed. There is rarely something we haven't already seen. The most interesting part was seeing what you create with the supplies, so I am really excited about your new series exploring the supplies you have now. I'm always looking forward to live streams! While I love the unboxings because I like watching you play with the new supplies I agree that subscription boxes in general are kinda just over. It would be kinda fun if occasionally you could sneak peak at what is in the boxes and maybe pick up individually an art supply that tickles your fancy. That is what I generally do. I watch other people unbox and if I think a particular supply might be fun I pick it up. That is how I discovered my Pentel Dual Metallic gel pens which I absolutely adore! Glad you are doing better. If you could occasionally do livestreams other times that would be lovely too as generally your livestreams are during my working hours and I would love to catch one or two.
Glad you’re doing better. I’m only seeing your videos again because I searched for them. My feed is full of True Crime, which TH-cam pushes and I’ve only just realized that several of my favourites aren’t getting to my feed. Not sure if this is across the board or just me 🤔
It's the same for me, Trashhippie! Not True Crime, but other stuff, and I've learned that if I do watch a random video topic, I need to go to my history astraight afterwards and delete it, or that's all I'll get till I do. I'm also finding that I get a _lot_ of other stuff, and I have to search through and click "Don't recommend channel" on the home page to clean it up. And often, the videos I'm looking for from notifications isn't there - I have to open it from notifications and save to playlist that way. So I've also learned to go through my subscribed list and go to their pages to see if they've uploaded recently!
@@thrashhippie Yeah - it's a time-consuming bore, but I've found when I keep at it, the system delivers ,less unwanted stuff - but only for a while.... But I don't always have the time to trawl through the stuff...

I totally understand you decision regarding cancelling the subscription boxes. I had Upcrate for a few years and cancelled my subscription in June. I did not feel the content justified the price and I did not feel inspired by it anymore anyway (way too many markers 😅) Adventures in the cave sounds extremely inspiring 🩷
