As someone who used a convertible laptop throughout Uni, I always used tent mode (and the other modes). I used “regular” mode for typing notes. Tablet mode for reading textbooks. Tent mode when watching videos in between classes, the extra desk space I got was enough to do other things like eat lunch or write notes in my notebook. I also used the 4th mode (where the keyboard is facing the desk and the screen is close to the user) whenever I was watching something and didn’t need a keyboard, it allowed the screen to get a lot closer to me than any other laptop usually could.

I own a 2 in 1 Lenovo Ideapad. the best decision I have ever made. It is a 14inch and I am an international student from Lesotho, doing my MBA in India now and have been using the laptop for over 4 years. It has and still is great for school work when in tablet mode, signing pdfs and other contracts at work on tablet mode using the stylus, take notes and type on normal laptop mode anddddddd tent mode is best for viewing videos or creating your own subtle cinema environment to watch all the movies and series out there. This is basically having a TV, Tablet and a laptop all in one. It needs an upgrade for sure because its old now buttttt I'd upgrade to a lighter and thinner but powerful 2in1 with a stylus any day anytime

Ideapads are usually disappointing because of their crappy displays (lol 250-nit brightness on a glossy screen) and questionable hinge durability. X1 Yogas are sturdier and have better displays, but also way more expensive.

Fold owner here, and I really love the Fold so far, its not perfect but its damn good. It’s a little slippery if you don’t rock a case- and my dBrand leather skin is in route to help with the grip. I find myself using it closed more to be honest, open when I need to multi-task heavier. Overall, impressed so far and looking forward to Android 14 improvements. Tent mode can easily be used for paired programming where the person that you are helping with some programming stuff is sitting on the other side of and has their own keyboard and mouse and you basically take turns working on a project so that the person you are helping can learn by example and hands on instead of just watching and taking notes or something. Actually physically making the clicks and changes yourself while being taught something is way more affective than just sitting and watching. Also, way more convenient and much easier than just passing a keyboard and mouse back and forth. Less awkward in the case of the yoga setup.

idk why ZenFone gets compared to iPhone mini, the size of the chassis is *MUCH* closer in size to base iPhone. Look at the LxW measurements in mm:
    131.5 x 64.2 - iPhone 13 mini
    146.5 x 68.1 - ZenFone 9 & 10
    146.7 x 71.5 - iPhone 14
And the ZenFone is thicker than iPhone, so total volume is actually 8.97 (for zf9) and 11.97 (for the zf10) cubic *centimeters* BIGGER than the iPhone14.
Still think its a really great phone, may be my favorite android phone, but I just don't understand why I'm hearing it framed this way... its a GREAT *medium*-sized medium-budget phone. But I wish the iPhone mini size phones hadn't been killed.

Tent mode can be helpful for business presentations. I don't personally do it, but I've seen people in 1:1 type meetings mirror the screen in tent mode and share presentations or demo software. It's a lot nicer than both trying to view one screen and having to be awkwardly close to each other to see/read the screen. I just use a portable monitor for this though, but it's a cool product showing off some innovation from Lenovo.

As a regional sales manager for a manufacturing company, tent mode is actually amazing. Why you might ask? I know i can't be the only salesmen who goes to have a meeting with someone or a group at their company building/office and there is no monitor or tv in the room we are having the meeting. If using a normal laptop and i need to do a powerpoint to the group i would have to turn the laptop away from me and face everyone who was in attendance (now i can't see screen and awkward to hit next on keyboard). If i have the Lenovo Yogabook dual screen i can put it in tent mode and give my powerpoint presentation to them while seeing my presentation or notes on my screen. I could also see it being used at some restaurants when doing a "lunch & learn" type meeting although these types of meetings were more common at the table during pandemic. I would say my use case for tent mode would be 1-2 times a month based on not having a screen to use at my meetings.

Not the same tihing as tent mode, but I own a Surface Book and being able to flip the screen and put it upside down in "tent mode" *while it was rendering something* (I bought it for blender stuff while I was in college) made it noticeably faster because there was way more surface area to cool the GPU down with. Putting a fan blowing *through* the tent was also massive in terms of sustained performance lol. That is 1000% not an advertised use case for the surface book, but it worked for me.
That laptop is slightly outdated now but I still regularly use it in "tent mode" but where I'm using it as a second monitor over wifi (It's a little laggy doing display over wifi but for having a second document open it's totally fine). It's just a much smaller footprint in that mode. I love the flexibility of that computer.

What reviewers on TH-cam never get about convertibles laptops and btw, it's the same excuse Apple fanboys use against touchscreen on laptops, is that they think because these features are not used all the time they don't matter, which is far from the truth. I use my laptop most of the time in the regular way but sometimes putting it to sleep or turning it off while you already got up from you chair it's so easy on the touchscreen, maybe once a month I take my laptop to my bed I put it in tablet mode in a vertical position to read a long pdf, a comic or a magazine and it's amazing to have so much real state to read and of course I use touch for it (yes if I had a big tablet or iPad I could have that but this way I don't have to spend so much on another device that I wouldn't use that much) Also sometimes when there's a power outage at night or just want to watch a movie without waking anyone in my bed I just put my laptop in tent mode or like in tablet and watch my movie. Also when I need to do some light editing on an image I reverse my laptop (like tablet mode but not all the way down) and use my stylus to do it on the screen and it's waaaaay better than using my mouse or the trackpad. These are all things that I do rarely sometimes more than a month can pass without doing any of this, but when I use it, it is amazing and quite an upgrade compared to not having it. In fact the next time I update my laptop I'm 95% sure I will go for a convertible again (sadly there seems to be less options these days).

Dear MKBHD, i own a yoga 9i 2022 (90hz oled) and a galaxy book pro 3 360 16 inch. both get used with my egpu for living room (coffee table), couch or in bed gaming. Ideal set up because it basically competes with something like the Asus Flow 16 mini led for less money and the benefit of not having a hot, noisy device on your lap. Theyre also lighter. Both laptops are used in 'presentation' mode (not tent--tent is too unstable/uncomfortable to be used on your la)

David is absolutely correct on Cybertruck pricing. Just look at the F150 Lightning, which started at $40k and quickly jumped up to a starting price of $60k due to supply chain and market conditions. EV Silverado just debuted and that was supposed to be $40k to start but the cheap work truck version is $75k, with the higher end retail version over $100k. Cybertruck will start at $60-70k and top models will be $110-130k

TBH, I've got my Lenovo Yoga 730 from a pawnshop for a $200 steal, currently $800-$999 new, and I love it! Tent mode, Tablet mode, as a regular Laptop have saved me in a pich both professionaly and personally. Most ppl think its a weird form factor or a gimmick, but I often see those same ppl carrying 3-4 devices while my Yoga can do it all all! That Yoga 9i looks ridiculously incovenient and cumbersome though.🤷🏾‍♂

The only way tent mode would make sense to me is for presenting something to a group of people. If it would mirror both screens, so people 8 people don’t have to huddle on one side to look at something. Instead of a half circle, you could have a full circle.
But you’ll probably end up not using it for that either.

I've had my Pixel Fold for a few days and I am having a good experience. Battery life is pretty good. I manage 8ish hours for casual use and on heavy use its around 5-6 hours. Overall, I really enjoy mine. Only thing I would prefer is if it was lighter but other than that I really like mine.

I almost got a surface long ago. After 2 Yogas. I can never use surface. Its MUCH nicer. Like its NOT made to be like Tablet built but MUCh elegant, higher quality to the touch and MUCh higher quality screen . Mine was like 3k back then. They have d IBM think Pad gut. Etc. yeah for ppl working remote, drive around town travel , see clients, needs 1 whole screen on display another taking note, this is highly useful :) 😊

While I understand it, I don't think it's fair to compare the price of the Pixel Tablet to Nest Hubs. Yes, when docked, they look similar and can work as home dashboards, but the tablet is a full Android device, much more powerful, much more capable. Personally, I put my dock below my monitor on my desk, so it works as a little dashboard while docked, for home automation, Spotify, TH-cam, etc., but at the end of the day, I pick it up and go sit on the couch with it and use it for entertainment. I'm really enjoying mine, though there's of course still room for improvement; for example, I totally agree the price of the dock is absurd for the functionality you get. But overall, I've been pleasantly surprised by mine 😊

When using with a wireless keyboard and mouse and the laptop screen, you can use the laptops in tent mode. Many a times all the TH-camrs promote putting laptop on a stand and then use it with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I used an HP laptop with a docking station with two monitors but use the laptop screen as the third screen for Outlook but the laptop completely flipped on a docking stand such as the ones from Satechi

7:15 I have a Lenovo Yoga laptop and although it is not a feature I would rly miss if I bought a new laptop, the tent mode is a cool mode for me to either watch movies/content without having a keyboard in front (making it much more compact) or mostly to connect to an external monitor. I had a very small desk where space rly came at a premium and using it that way allowed me to use an external keyboard an mouse and have a dual monitor setup that used minimal space, smth that a normal laptop just couldnt do. Unfortunately, the hinge broke 8 months ago and now it is just a useless laptop that i cant bring with anywhere since i cant close it...

Omg if u like ACE chrom book, u will be blown away by YOGA--they have the cheaper ones like 300 500 700 900 series. The 900 are the high end with IBM think pad gut but very utter high end consumer grade entertainment professional type of gadget functional design for being touch screen n self support. Its JUST d best thing. Yeah i have the 900 series after gone to BESTBUY to look for Dell flip ones, n the ACER Zen book over n over again, teh Lenovo is really premium. D Dell n windows surface and ACER just very like cookie cutter. Also Lenovol YOGA are their Premium level laptop so. They have VERY good screen. :) butter fluid . I had like 3k screen in 2017. I am not sure what they use not. Just i cant explain.

@@birdtj82This is one of the very few makes that have the P series 12th gen i7 processor as an option. The Acer Spin 714 is also very premium with a gorilla glass screen and all aluminum build with a very fast fingerprint sensor with a 1 finger lift on the lid. The hinge is also very sturdy too and doesn't flop around when using the touch screen. Another thing that's awesome is the stowable stylus you can pull out anytime which is fully charged and ready to go. I did a lot of research before buying this thing and I'm still convinced it's the best option out there right now for what I need/ want.
