We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️ - บันเทิง
As a Singaporean, its great to see a cooking video on this local classic. Usually we eat this with garlic Chili sauce and/or dark soy sauce, but you can’t go wrong with just the base dish alone.
oooh, thanks for that. I’m trying that next.
I started using the whole roll of paper towels as a napkin
I taught my 15 yr old son to use the rice cooker for an easy meal when I'm not home. This one will help expand his repertoire. Thanks gentlemen!
I like when you make different meals from different cultures and put your little twist on them. To me it shows how you have respect for the group of people that enjoys that type of food daily and your own little twist shows that recipes are not set in store and cooking does not have to be an exact science but it can be a fun experiment. Keep the great vids coming 😎😎
Sam I love your show it's helped me though many sleepless nights. I love the banter between Max and yourself and Chance
Need even more of these one pot recipes. Maybe a super easy meal series in the future.
This is friggin' brilliant! A few, basic ingredients, doing most of it in the rice cooker, still getting a ton of flavor. Really smart recipe to add to your repertoire.
👆white ppl when they discovered Asian food
My daughter is super grateful after I make your stuff. I started saying, "Don't thank me. Thank Sam." So now she takes a bite, eyes roll back (because it's so damn good), and she says, "Thank you, Sam!"
During the pandemic, I discovered Sam's channel. My kids started asking, "Is this a Sam recipe?" while I was doing dinner prep. A "yes" from me meant smiles all around.
@@tsurdykSAME haha
Now that we crossed some cultural borders, let me remind y'all Westerners again that chicken skin doesn't need to be crispy to be good and so-called "soggy" un-crispy unrendered skin doesn't mean that it's bad, it's a different feel that's good in its own way, having said that some styles of chicken rice result in springier skin and that adds a nice texture
Would love to see more videos like this, taking quick simple meals and making them insanely tasty!
I love how accessible Sam makes cooking feel. Nothing too complicated. Just tasty food.
I’m double trying to win a knife every video. Lol. Like the price is right. $1.00.
Ratatouille please
LOVE that you showed a rice cooker recipe! Rice cooker recipes are perfect for 1 or 2 people and we do them for weeknight meals A LOT. Cant wait to try this one!!
Thank you so much for making this! We randomly had all these ingredients 😊 so we made it! This dish was delicious and so incredible simple. I’ve been sleeping on the rice cooker. Appreciate you!!
You guys make everything look so simple and tasty- feeding the family on your recipes is quite satisfying, all happiness here!
I’ve been meaning to cook this in my rice cooker for a long time! Thanks for the inspiration Sam & Team.
Love how simple this is! Thank you!
I definitely will be trying this! It looks amazing. Thanks again Sam!
Sam, my wife and I love tonight’s video. We love simple and easy to fix dishes like this. Way to go! So, I’m wondering if you would consider making homemade southern chicken and dumplings?
we have made so many of your recipe's! the food you post is always the best! love it!
Love the one pot concept. Would love to see more of that and also how you make chicken stock. Thanks for sharing!
I made this tonight in my oven as I don’t have a rice cooker.
I cut up a whole small chicken (1kg & bones in) and covered my baking tin tightly with foil for 50 mins at 175° fan forced oven. Then removed foil for the last 25 mins approx. the chicken pieces got a little golden & the tips of the rice on the sides of the tin got a nice colour & texture, in a good way. ( I just cooked until rice had absorbed the liquid & tested chicken was cooked through. Chicken was nice & moist & tender) Will make again. Thanks for the recipe 😊
I'm assuming you cooked the rice and chicken together. I don't have a rice cooker - chicken is layered on top of the rice water? Then cook for about 20/25+ minutes? Thanks!
I always enjoy your videos and drool over your backyard grilling setup. This recipe (especially the rice) reminds me of the rice recipe I learned from a Salvadorean friend. I'll have to try this one. My son is just like your son Jordan. He could eat chicken 3 times a day, every day. Love your videos, Sam.
Looks absolutely amazing. You should do a roasted chicken with lebanese garlic dip called Toum. Its insane.
Love Toum!!
I’ve been working out and your videos keep making me drool. Thank goodness for the “healthy” ones.
Thanks for the new meal prep idea. That looks amazing.
Could not get any simpler!!! Gonna make this TONIGHT!!!
i've known about this dish for several years, and i know the blonde looking rubbery skin is part of what makes it authentic... over time i've developed a similar method of making this in a rice cooker, but i do 'brown' the skin side before placing in the rice cooker and to me it's just better that way. i also put garlic in the hot oil sauce and finish with chopped cilantro on the dish right before serving. it's such an easy and wonderful dish... plus my children LOVE it!
In other words you make a different recipe
Love watching everyday!! Awesome recipes to try! ❤
Thanks Sam, I've been watching you for years and I feel my cooking game gets better with every episode from smoking meat to boiling potatoes. Cheers!
I made this for dinner tonight. Everything is a staple in my fridge and freezer. It was so amazing!!!!! Putting it in my two week rotation!!!! Thank you!!!❤❤❤❤
Guys, Sam is not kidding about this stuff being absolutely amaze-balls. Made this for dinner last night and it was fantastic! I did add some red pepper flakes to the sauce, because pepper belly, oh, and try browning the thighs before you put them in with the rice. It adds a little something extra. This one's going into heavy rotation in my kitchen! ^_^ Thank you, Sam! ^_^
Finally a reason to unbox the rice cooker I bought a year ago! And only a few simple ingredients,I love it!
It's amazing that the chicken actually cooks through in the rice cooker! So easy!!
Sam, we need some more rice cooker meals like this!
“You’ll be one lucky son of a b….gun.” Had me rolling 😂
I’ve been making this the same way for a while. With the bones from the chicken, boil them up with water, garlic and ginger and make a side of broth that goes with it. A game changer.. It also needs a garlic chilli sauce with soy with a touch of sesame oil. My favourite!
Tried this last night for dinner after watching. Didn’t have the fresh garlic or ginger… just jarred stuff. Still came out really good. Even in a crappy rice cooker. Still works. It’s legit!
Wow!! I'm definitely trying this recipe. I've seen a ton of "easy chicken recipes", but this has got to be one of the easiest.
Although I can’t help be a little skeptical about boiled chicken skin, I really want to try this! By the way, I have seen over the years a lot of chicken parts being reserved to go in the “bag” in the freezer to make chicken stock. I’m betting that bag is mighty full right about now. Don’t cha think it’s about time to show us how you do chicken stock? Just sayin’.
I thought the same. I'd put that chicken in the pan in the end to give the skin some crispness....
Well he did use stock in the rice...😂🎉
This is so awesome! Pro tip for those without a rice cooker, do it in a pan on the stove, get busy chasing your toddler around, burn the rice on the bottom of the pan just a little bit and mix it in with the properly cooked rice for some extra crunchy texture.
Long time fan, thanks for making everything so simple and achievable!
Bought my wife the Intentional Leftovers cookbook and she’s made damn near everything in it already. Looks like I have to get the grilling cookbook now too!
I think this is one of those times Sam actually will eat the whole dish and not just have a bite or two
Love seeing all the different ways to cook meals
As planned, I made this dish over the weekend and can confirm that it's amazing. Thanks for the easy recipe. This is getting recorded in the personal cookbook for sure.
Never been an Asian food person until you turned me onto it. Cooking it myself and adjusting the spices (or lack of) opened up a brand new culinary world, thank you Sam! This dish looks perfect, fast and simple.
That looks amazing can't wait to try it thanks Sam!
Awesome video, going to have to try this for meal prep next week!
I’m trying to win a knife every video
🤣🤣🤣
Aren’t we all ? 😂😂🤣
I didn’t see a winner name posted on this video for Wednesday’s video… Hmmm.
Chile Relleno casserole
It's rigged. 😢
Your genuineness is infectious Sam ❤
Just made this dish and my wife is worshipping me. Wow another culanary delight thanks Sam you did it again.

Lived 30 years ago for four years in Singapore. And I agree, the favorite ones are Chicken Rice, Chili Crab, both India and Malaysia curries and many more, all at neighborhood food-court stalls.
My husband and I love your recipes! So easy and tasty!
That looks amazing!!! I can’t wait to try this one Sam. Thanks!!!
My husband and I love watching your channel! You have great, inspirational, meals.
I remember seeing Anthony Bourdain order that dish in the food courts in Singapore. Great to see you share this recipe and I look forward to trying it. As an owner of two Zojirushi rice cookers, the more I can use them the better. Love what you do.
Nice and easy recipe. Thank you as always!
This is my favourite Asian dish ever and I can't believe how easy it is to make... copying this tonight!!!
Healthy, cheap, easy, delicious, literally just what i needed. Thank you Sam

Please more of these simple recipes!! Im going to try this in my instapot on rice setting. Fingers crossed 😊
I just posted a question about the rice setting on the instant pot vs. the rice cooker....did it work for you?
Yum; my three year old is always asking for chicken and rice and now I finally have a recipe that I can’t wait to make for everyone 😋.
Would love to see your take on a French dip!!
My mom got me one of your cookbooks for Christmas, I can’t wait to make absolutely everything!
I made this tonight using king salmon instead. Chefs kiss. Amazing. Whole family loved it. That Topper? I need that as a condiment on EVERYTHING.
Chicken and rice is one of the best meals. Both cooked in the rice maker?! Who knew! Utterly fantastic. Thanks guys!

Was lookin for a new chicken and rice to add to the list of chicken and rice combos, thanks Sam 😎
Making this tonight and we are so excited

Another amazing dish! Sam, I’m a fellow Canadian boy living behind enemy lines. One of my favorite childhood memories is family dinner at a restaurant called Swiss Chalet. Their signature rotisserie chicken, french fries, and signature sauce for dipping. Would love to see you recreate it!
Definitely going to give this a go as it looks delicious and so easy. 😋
This recipe is easy and great! Have been making it regularly since viewing this.
Perfect timing, as I needed an idea for dinner and I’ve all the ingredients on hand-I am making this dish within the hour! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️🍽
This was incredible! I don't know how to explain it but it was one of the best things I have had in a long, long time. I will be making this all the time.

This is my favorite rice and chicken dish ever. Chicken adobo and rice a close second but Hainanese rice is so simple and sooo flavorful. It's soo hard to stop eating.

The ginger green onion sauce looks insane! That alone is reason enough to make this, thanks Sam!
