I don't want to spoil myself on anything with this game as I've yet to play more than the demo but I am very glad you played it! And I enjoy your videos and will play this on mute in the background and post this comment so this site will put your work in front of more people.
I recently found your channel Shetani and man, I really am starting to love your videos! Nine sols was absolutely brutal! I wish they had more challenging ways to play, but the combat has been my second favorite in a game i'd say. Also, I would love to see you play Lies of P. I really enjoyed the story and combat in that game, but its a little closer to a mix between sekiro and bloodborne.
As a taiwanese I watched the game in both english and mandarin several times, and the game definitely blown me over with themes and story, and how well they mend taoism the philosophy, east asian folk religion, and all the folklore throughout the history. The story definitely lose some flavor if you don't play it in mandarin / don't know the folklores, but the story is still so well written. Also this game got some absolute banger in music, especially the music from the twin bossfight. MY GOD Definitely did not regret backing the game, although I didn't pay enough money to get my name on the credit  Absolutely enjoyed it, can't wait for next masterpiece from red candle games :D
I recently played this so I'll drop my two cents. Personally, the story, characters and lore felt bland and cliché, I wouldnt recommend nine sols on those. Themes like daoism felt really brushed over just for flavour and not as an encompassing theme with relevant depth (I understand the game is combat driven and this wasn't the focus but I hoped for more in that respect). Exploration was ok, it's not amazing like HK but nothing to complain about. Now the highlights. The sound direction was good and a couple of themes were amazing and you'll want to play even after finishing the game. Combat is fantastic. Minus some weird hitboxes here and there it's flawless. Fast-paced, reaction based, very very tight controls and reaction times. I loved it. I rate the game highly for that alone, it was more fun (not by much, but a bit more) fighting in nine sols than in sekiro and anyone who was played sekiro know this is high praise. Eigong is comparable to Isshin and personally I had a harder time with her, I spent over two days learning the fight. Absolutely agree with the commentary on Jiequan's fight, is when the combat clicked and got into the rythm game zone. And then it happened again with Lady Ethereal on a deeper level (personal favourite). Good video, glad you covered nine sols. Have a nice day
Woooo, someone finally brought up the Katana Zero similarities!
My fav boss was the butterfly one. And i love the soundtrack for that boss

Thank you! I played Lies of P when it came out, it's a great game! Looking forward to playing the DLC and eventually the sequel ( ̄ω ̄)

Need to refresh my memory on Journey to the West and read the unabridged version first...
