  • England begin their end of season tour by struggling to a 1-0 win away to Australia in June 1991, courtesy of a first half own goal. The result leaves England unbeaten since Graham Taylor took over at the start of the 1990-91 season.

Fond memories. I went to this game whilst traveling around Australia on a one year visa. Lineker worked his socks off, Parker continually played the diagonal ball, Graham Taylor's England.

Thank you for uploading.... I attended this match at the SFS in Sydney as a 14 year old back in 1991.... it was great to see the likes of Gary Lineker, David Platt and an up and coming Ned Zelic......

I was there, traveled up from Melbourne to support England, about 10 of us, three days of heavy drinking ensued , while at a pub in Manly the England team walked past to massive cheers and singing from hundreds of England fans. We went to watch them train at the SFS the night before the game and i spotted John Motson walking around the perimeter, he was holding a sheet of paper with all the aussie players names on, i asked him for his autograph, he seemed genuinely shocked that someone would want it. Great days, thanks for listening

If the footage carried on a bit longer, you would ser me on pitch with a blue The Farm t-shirt getting arrested on the pitch.

England had terrible jetlag having flown in the previous day at the end of a 27-hour flight, and not slept properly at all overnight after arriving. It wasn't realistic to expect them to be anywhere near their best.
