So I've seen few comments saying how Star King Kirito (the 200 y/o one) is so selfish for not erasing himself and 'leaving' Asuna behind. I really advise you to watch the whole episode than making such a conclusion from a 1-minute cut.
When he first woke up from UW (aka Star King Kirito brw) the very first thing he requested Kikuoka was for his and Asuna's memories of 200 years to be deleted. However, Higa copied his 200 y/o fluctlight instead. To which Kirito and Asuna had discussed about when they were stuck in the UW. Thing is, if Higa didn't make a copy of him, there wouldn't be this 200 y/o Kirito. Besides, Kirito and Asuna TALKED about this. It's not like he chose this without Asuna knowing.
It's also clearly stated in the video that the only reason he didn't ask his copy to be deleted just like it should if Asuna's fluctlight were to be copied instead is because he has to protect the UW. After being a leader and King for 200 years, I'm sure Kirito has grown protective of the world. If anything, I feel bad for him cause it's such a Kirito thing to think of others before himself (character development!), even though he has to suffer the pain of being alone after losing Asuna.
I don't know for how long SK need to exist... It is too painful for him, I really can't stand him to suffer more after losing Asuna, the most precious person to him in the world.
I pray that his responsibilities are over soon and he can die to reunite with her fluctlight... He is really the character who has suffered worst tragedy in all LN.

•Miso Soo• Well, to be fair, the one who's worrying about UW and its civilization is 200 y/o version of him. But yeah, the current 17 y/o him isn't spared from feeling that he has to do everything he could whenever the VR world is in crisis. From SAO, to ALO, then GGO and UW. Heck, he even felt the need to save everyone irl when they played Ordinal Scale (AR).

Don't kid yourself. Even with all the information from the anime and LN taken into account, this is painfully easy to twist, specially for haters hungering for blood.
I won't be surprised if Mother's Basement and other famous haters make long hateful video essays out of it.
I feel bad for Kawahara, since he wrote this before SAO became the anime community's favorite punching bag. And it's not that bad of a development for a story that he wrote only for his own sake. But unfortunately, this is going to bite him in the ass.
The only way I see this being "fixed" is if SK Kirito becomes the villain and OG Kirito ends up rejecting his actions as well intentioned, but ultimately misguided.
Which...admitedly, if its well executed, that could be a good storyline.
Question ..sorry I haven't seen the rest of this anime. Why do they have limited time if both of them(asuna and kirito) were copied to unite the real and underworld? Then is it possible that AI Kirito has limited time also?

This scene gives me chills, the disconnection between Star king Kirito and the usual Kirito is so obvious and kinda scary. The voice actor gets a lot of credit in this, It always amazes me just how much you can understand the weight that reigning UW for 200 years had on him in just a one minute long scene
I saw that they delted the memories now the interest I had in the new seasons after the second season kind of went up but crashed ,I don`t want to watch 2-3 season for nothing
@@behindzerosp not their entire memories, just the 200 years when they were stuck in Underworld. The "originals" K and A still remembers everything that's happened before the 200 years, while this one is a AI, a copy of Kirito's fluctlight (something related to the soul) who remembers even those 200 years.
Star King not only sounds tired, but he literally sounds pissed that he’s even alive still.

You can tell why Kirito and Asuna wanted to erase their memories, both him and Asuna are so warped from living far past their life expectancies, it drained them psychologically and emotionally. If they actually returned and didn’t erase their memories of the Underworld and everyone saw them... it would literally kill them to see their friends in that state. Immortality is always something that people wants but they never consider how it could affect them psychologically and emotionally, to see the people that they love and care about die while they live.
THANK YOU finally someone who truly understood their intention.
MORURIN モルりん no problem, also even though they did sleep like what Quinella did, their personality’s are still affected by the fact they’re beyond their lifespan, we got to see how the 200 years affected Kirito via the Fluctlight that Higa copied, you can tell he was tired, tired of living past the age of a human would. Basically; their humanity was removed after 100 years of living, the emotions that you’d normally feel have been dulled completely and causing their souls to become non human but with a human shell.
Plus since they lived more than 200 years, their sense of time will be destroyed causing them to experience it much faster.

Sasuga Megami Meliodas your a demon and have the lifespan of 1000 years, this is a human, they’re not supposed to live outside their natural lifespan! The only reason Ban was able to do so was because of the Fountain of Youth preserving his mind as well as giving unlimited regeneration to his body!
I never thought it was the immortality. I always thought that it was since a lot of time had passed and lived a long fulfilling life, other than running out of space for memories in their fluclights they would have alot been very different people from who they were at their teens thus not fitting in the modern world.
The sheer EXHAUSTION in his voice. He sounds so much more mature and tired with life. And I love that he calls Asuna "the queen". This is how you quickly do character development. Well done SAO team, this was impressive.
Alot of people seemed to think that he sounded miserable but to me he just seemed to sound his age . He properly sounds like a king who has been alive for 200 years . And while i find it incredibly sad that he dosent have his own asuna im actually looking forward to seeing more of the star king and hope he stays for a long time as i find him a really intriguing character.

You seem to have forgotten someone.....his daughter Yui. Even if she is only there adopted child, she is still Asuna and Kirito's greatest treasure. She's also the reason why Kirito and Asuna never had any children despite spending over 200 years together in the UW.
Star King Kirito's Voice is so very ominous here like "I'm gonna protect the underworld at all cost" plus the impending meeting with Kayaba. Is there something more to that. It's pretty scary tbh haha
Well to be honest he sounds miserable. All of his friends in the underworld are long dead and he hasn’t seen any of his friends in the real world in 200 years. He wanted his memory of the 200 years erased for a good reason. Imagine being him where you finally get that erased from your memory and can go back to a normal life only to wake up as a copy who has lived through all of that and now you’ve lost the one thing that was keeping you going after all this time. The only person who was with him all those years was Asuna. He’s old, tired, miserable, and alone. I really don’t think he wants to even exist

Just this scene made me cry happy tears, we've finally got a Kirisuna cute scene without the other girls pushing in. Also, this is the main reason I won't the Moon Crindal arc to be animated. It will only consist of Kirisuna moments, no Sinon or Alice or any other girl, just Kirito and Asuna.
The Moon Cradle side story is about Ronye. There really aren't any moments where Kirito and Asuna are alone.

Novia Violeta There might be a possibility for Moon Cradle to be adapted into a movie or an OVA. There'll be a special SAO event in November that'd have all the voice actors (except Tomocchan aka Asuna's VA), singers (LiSa, ReoNa etc) and production team. It's expected that they might announce something special :)

Edit#1 Just did some research and I found out tht kadokawa is a publishing company and aniplex is a an anime/music production company owned by Sony and had A1 pictures and such working under them, so how can we be sure that progressive won’t be same as last season of alicization where asuna was made to like side character w little to no scenes/screen time(even if original source is about kirisuna I’m worried that they finna turn it into the usual dorky guy meets tsundere pretty girl ,falls for her and she soon starts liking him too but not gonna end up together, oh and ofc more girls to get in the way of main couple’s romance advancing

@@zatannavolkoff You hit the nail on the head. Kirito and Asuna never have any other children other than Yui, and they aren't going to bother trying for one if she isn't there to share it together with them.
They do things as a family.....or they don't do them at all. If you can't share the moment of having another child together with their first, then why would they even bother having one?
Yui is the greatest treasure kirito and asuna have. The SAO video game Millennium Twilight and the Unital Ring LN arc both confirm that Yui is the only child that they have or will ever have (since Yui outlives both her parents in Millennium Twilight she would know this for certain)

The closest Yui gets to experience being a player like her parents happens in the Unital Ring arc of the LN.

That happens very often not just SAO. It's the feeling of finishing a really good story, a bitter sweet feeling. That's what I always feel when I see my fav Wuxia novel chars like Li Qiye, after 4000+ chaps, become Immortals that control multiverses.
I really like how I just read the story of another man's journey, even if they're fictional characters, but also hate the fact that that's it, it's the end.

But, that's not the one I feel when I watch SAO. With SAO, I feel different. Have you ever felt like an Anime was made FOR you. I've already watched SAO so many times but it just never gets boring. And actually, I was thinking of re-watching it again before Progressive comes out.
Holy crap Star King Kirito sounds so lonely and tired. Also the sheer authority and power in his voice. I got chills. The way Star King Kirito declared that he would fight. Gosh the sheer weight of the responsibility he holds. 200 yrs really did make him a great ruler. The voice actor did a phenomenal job.
Also I felt something off when Higa said that he only managed to copy Kirito's fluctlight. The averted eyes and his kinda shaky voice seems sus. Idk maybe it's me reading too much into this. (I haven't read the light novel so I will start now)
I do understand why Kirito and Asuna would delete the memories of the 200 yrs. It would be too much of a burden not just for their fluctlight capacity but also their mental and emotional states. They had to live that long with the added responsibility of taking care of the underworld and it's inhabitants. That definitely isn't easy.
I want more details of their 200 yr time spent there not just the tidbits of lightnovel volume 19 and 20.
Same here. Just finished today. Man when I heard Star King's voice, fuck the chills. Literally felt like there was a King on the other side, a veteran, a wartorn general and one benevolent leader.

I think they should make a movie in 2021 about the 200 years memories in the underworld... 🥰 I need more scenes between asuna and kirito moments....
patorikkuu chan. They probably won’t cuz it’s pretty impossible to make a movie out of 200 years. And the original light novel is not even close to finishing their life during the 200 years currently. But good news is SAO Progressive is our :D (the trailer only).

@@sparkzte67 there is moon cradle arc light novel about Kirito and Asuna living and become King & Queen for 200 years. The volume is pretty short if it become a movie I think it will only take 2 hours.
There is side stories of their time there but it’s moslty based on the 2 kouhai character development. I’s good but but it makes me sigh in regret. I still wish it gets a Movie adaption like you’ve said

Anyway, even though I was slightly irritated halfway through the episode (cause A1 freaking cut not only 1, but 2 Kirito x Asuna scenes), my irritation somehow diffused when I saw that anime-original scene of them in the UW. Them playing footsies wasn't in the LN, so it was indeed a nice surprise to see an additional, cute scene of them just lying down on bed together > <
But yeah, it would've been nice if they did extend their scene at the hospital.
I keep seeing posts of people saying they cut out two Kirito×Asuna moments. Can you tell me what those were and what manga or light novel it was from. I'm still reading the manga and anime I have just finished ordinal scale. So I am about to start season 3. But of course I know a little bit of what going on because of spoilers lol I did that to myself lol

Sharon Burke It was from the light novel Vol 18. For this episode alone, they cut out 2 scenes;
1. When they both finally woke up. Alice was holding onto both Asuna and Kirito's hands (not just Kirito's 🙄), also called for BOTH names. When they did wake up, Kirito and Asuna looked at each other and assured one another that "It's going to be fine". (It has yet to be revealed as to why Kirito said this to Asuna).
2. After Kikuoka left Kirito's room, Asuna and Kirito decided to log into ALO together. Asuna, being a playful girlfriend she was, decided to plop onto Kirito after pulling out her Amusphere. Kirito commented how she seemed to have purposely brought along her device to dive in together, but he let her have her way and wrapped his arm around her waist (even gave it a good squeeze). He then carressed her hair while she's still on top, before placing her Amusphere on her head then also his own.
Dannyflaco305 'Cut' as in the scenes from its original source, the light novels, weren't included in the anime adaptation. So you'll have to read the light novels for those cut scenes.

That's because Star King doesn't see himself as a copy of Kirito. He sees Kirito as a completely separate person. SK always says he for Kirito.

About season one and season 2 season 1 aincrad arc was good where else fair dance arc was bull shit. And season 2 phantom battle arc was bad where else mother’s rosarie arc was good .
After alization arc is progressive BTW.
@@haletasci9999 There are only three seasons. Season 3 is 47 episodes long. I know people will say "oh but Alicization and WoU were split to 2 seasons"... Season 3 was split into 4 cours, but decided to make it "two seasons" but it's all Season 3.

@@webbedwings I'll give you a TLDR version. The anime did criminal to the LN's way of explaining how this system works.
Here's the TLDR (it's still gonna be quite long but barely the surface lol):
So basically human soul, in SAO, is described as photons (small units) of light existing in channels in the brain. Rath, the organisation led by Kikuoka to produce a completely sentient AI, used these photons and created copy of them and inserted these copies in a virtual world called Underworld. At first it didn't work as the copies went mad cus they were grown up and now suddenly they have a new life somewhere else so they copied Fluctlights (the photons in brain) from human babies which grow up in that world, knowing this is the only shit that exists.
Now there's way more about how Incarnation and laws of objects work in that world but that's need to know. Do you?
The continuation of this is quite an interesting question though:
*Star King Kirito **_meeting_** Kayaba "Heathcliff" Akihiko.* These two characters have quite literally sacrificed so much to get where they are, and if they were to meet...

Memories of Kirito and Asuna were not erased. In the novels Higa said that they can only suppress these memories, but not delete them. In vol.24 there was a certain scene involving part of these memories.
Nah they erased them. Normally, their memories are supposed to be repressed when they leave the Underworld. But because of those 200 years, their souls were too unstable and had to have those 200 years of memories removed. Higa just copied Kirito's fluctlight before doing that.

The only purpose that the harem has is comedy, and it's not done that well, I mean Alice was the only one to act like a normal person and be jealous and angry that Kirito loves Asuna, even though she understands their bond. The rest of the girls kinda get to my nerves because they have the understanding that they all like him but no one says anything and it's not awkward and it just makes me angry.
I still love how he is with Alice, especially because other than Asuna and Suguha she is the closest to him, even if he isn't close to her
Then you're in for a treat with SAO Progressive. The LN and Manga are packed with the evolving love between them. It's so fun and pure.

@@jeanne5570 yup! SAO Progressive is all about their time lvling up in Aincrad. There’s a gap in time in the first season of SAO. Progressive shows how both Kirito and Asuna grew as players in game and closer as people (aka their live for one another)
Jimena Martinez oh Opposite for me, out of all girls who's been hitting on Kirito, the only one who I can't stand and boils my blood is that AI whore alice, the rest girls are clingy, yes, but they know how to distance themselves from kirito because they're aware that he only loves Asuna. But this alice, on the other hand is beyond irritating and is always getting on the nerves to all the viewers that are expecting more Kirisuna on SAO including me. She doesn't know her boundaries and is always being naive or ignorant for the fact that she knows Asuna has deeper and more intimate relationship to Kirito/Kazuto. And i always hated the fact that she has the audacity to be jealous or irritated when Kirito asked if she could bring his Wife with him in the UW, i mean he doesn't need to ask permission to her to bring his wife with him. I really hate her character.
When Kirito and Asuna woke up from the UW, did they have their memories deleted from those 200 years in UW from their real world self? And instead Higa copied/backed up Kiritos?

I never really liked Kiritos Voice but in this clip he sounds extremly grown up and i think that suits him quite well.

Star King isn’t exactly immortal, but you could say he’s never aging. He can still die if you inflict enough damage. But age isn’t something he needs to worry about.
