The only moment where Kirito can honestly be vulnerable, be a crybaby and turn child-like is with Asuna. Asuna fell for that. The rest of the girls are all about how cool he is or how he can protect them.

There wasn't enough of these moments in other arcs. It had terrible writing. But very little of character development. Plus unnecessary creeps and tentacles. It really ruins the show.

This scene reminds me of this part in the novel:

I really believe their relationship is one of (IF NOT the) greatest in many anime I’ve seen ever…

I watched this series and Wow it's just the best I have watched yet honestly it made me cry for real (I'm a grown Man) So It's the second anime that made me cry for real after demon slayer renkogu scene because of I had a really hard time for myself

I LOVE THEM SO FUCKING MUCH PLS HAVE ALL MY TEARS
This is what I’ve always loved about these two. They’re incredibly strong both mentally and physically but for each other they’re their own weaknesses and it’s beyond sweet ♥️ like how Kirito only truly feels broken and cries when it comes to Asuna or like how Asuna feels safe in his arms like in season 1 right before the fight against heathcliff or when she sees him again without his soul. All of the other girls liked him for different reasons and that was why Asuna was always the one for him and the same for her.

I was so hoping to hear A Tender Feeling this episode and I'm glad they did add it. It almost made up for the missing kissing scene from a couple episodes ago. Even so it definitely was a teary moment! KiritoXAsuna FOR LIFE!

After rewatching I found one thing so sweet and beautiful of Asuna, she herself finally got to reunite with the person she loves most in the whole world after those chaos and mayhem and yet she was thinking of other girls and her friends like how she is feeling sorry to everyone. They weren't even sure whether they would make it alive because of the rapid acceleration but still 1st thing Asuna found to commiserate with Kirito was about their friends. I bet if it was other girl they would have been high over the heels given they got time to spend with the man they loves still knowing his relationship. Well, he doesn't reciprocate🤷 How benevolent and compassionate you can be Asuna, it is fine to prioritise your own desire sometimes when other couldn't do that for you. It is okay to be selfish when you are with your most beloved person disregarding global interest whatsoever. Nevertheless, those attributes of thinking other as well regardless of what the circumstances is, and that is what makes Asuna the best girl and one of the special character of the SAO and fitting one to be with the man she loves so much, Periodt.

man, alicization pisses me off for practically forgetting that that REALLY obvious beautiful couple development existed in sao1 AND theres just like half of the original work (light novel). Asuna gave everything to Kirito, her loyalty, her virginity, her life(multiple life spans), her protection as a badass. I don't always like the writing in SAO but their relationship is legitimately the greatest thing in that anime for me, low key this is why I don't like the harem fanservice in it, even though it's not actually harem, it just feels like the anime trying to be something it's not when they just add a new girl with feelings for him.
