As for the 90B color issue in game mode yeah its so weird because at times in HDR games it can look fine on some games almost the same as the C2 and in other games the colors just don't look as good as the C2 it definitely seems like green, yellow, and orange has been the most noticeable in that sense from my experience. I hope theres a fix because yeah it's more than capable of delivering these colors. Overall C2 and QN90B comparison is really close now I personally really liked the QN90A last year in a lot of content and this is a huge improvement over that, C2 is a lesser improvement over the C1 than the 90B over the A is but still it is an improvement with some positive changes that you can notice a bit. Really its a tougher buying choice than ever for people I expect this question to pop up so much this year lol.

The very fact that the review is in the dark, that is, creating an ideal environment for OLED is very indicative of how things are with the brightness. If there is lighting, especially daylight, on the screen of the C2 you will see more the reflection of the furniture in the room and the operator, instead of the picture it should emit.
2:42 what's going on with that character's scarf? It's green on the Samsung and grey on the LG, but they're both coming from the same source? How is this possible.
I think what's gonna sell me on the QN90B is the Q Symphony. I experienced it in the store and it really made the difference. And I could just take a few steps to my left and compare it to a C2, and it's basically impossible to tell the difference. Can you tell an OLED from mini LED on a side-by-side comparison using footage to showcase the differences? Yes. But is that what you'll _really_ be looking at? Starfields and blobs? It's also a shame that LG doesn't have a similar technology to pair their TVs and soundbars.
Comparing an OLED to a miniLED on a bright store floor isn't really far though. A bright room makes high contrast values (like an OLED with infinite contrast ratio) imperceptible and also helps hiding bloom from miniLEDs. The QN90B is an amazing TV, but if you put both of them side by side on dark room (like a normal living room at night) the difference is visible But it all depends on the usage habits of each person
@@joseluislopes3956 wrong, Linus compared the LG CX to the QN85A MiniLed in a dark room and the conclusion was that no one would be able to tell which TV was the OLED in a dark room, and that panel is ADS it's not even VA
I made the mistake of getting an OLED before testing out the QN90B. I couldn’t stand the over saturation, poor viewing angles, motion blur, and blooming that the QLED had. Returned it in an hour and got the C2 again
I like Ai picture with hdr content on the C1, it really does help shadow detail and boost pop without loosing color volume, as for sdr it favors contrast and darkens dark areas which is a no go for me.
Both tvs looks great, you can see the Samsung in certain areas brighter and the LG in other areas with better contrast. Samsung has done a very impressive job with a non Oled tv, not sure how they achieved this…. Ultimately though the C2 is an Oled and certainly has that 3d /Depth to the image that I haven’t seen replicated in any non Oled technology. With that said I would buy the TV I could find cheaper as they both look spectacular! 🔥 *Great video and I agree with how they were shot individually and presented like this for true representation
Samsung is very close to an OLED like 90% there so it makes no sense to me for anyone to buy an OLED anymore when you get the best of both worlds with Samsung now, super bright TV, deep blacks and no burn in risk on top
Very good video, thanks a lot! It really shows that C2 is quite capable even in some bright scenes, contrary to what i saw in other comparison videos. Now i am even more confused 😄 You mentioned that oleds often look blue on videos. I have noticed that as well. Is it the same in real life or is it something to do with filming? I am generally a fan of warmer colors and whites, and this blueness is putting me off from pulling a plug and buying a large oled tv this year.
Personally I just feel OLED isn't practical for most people, and my only concern is that it's going to be annoying if you aren't going to use it in a room with no windows. It makes the choice very easy to me, which means the QN90B is the one I'll be going for.
@@TheGodfather1022 65 X95J & im very much in love with it. I know I would be amazed owning the A90J for sure. I'm just very happy with my experience with the X95J & truly Thankful & feal blessed. Oled maybe one day lol. I'm also itching very bad for the X95K. Like my X95J so much I bought a 65 X90J for the family room & don't like it.
Both are really good tvs I prefer my oled for the space movies, and gaming on oleds is awesome, I will take contrast over brightness every time that's just me .
Its weird now how TV reviews are basically damned if they do due to firmware updates. These TVs could be way better just off firmware tweaks and we don't know if let alone when they could drop an update. I doubt the development time would be expensive, it'd be great if consumers held the makers to account for bugs and downgrades.
I'm using the C2 right now, as a monitor. Downsides: 1) Dimming. If there is too much white on the screen, it dims. It's annoying. And you can't turn it off, even from the service menu. 2) Doesn't get as bright. I watched another youtuber do a side by side of these two tvs, with Elden Ring, showing the tree. It pops way brighter on the Samsung than on the C2. And it gets just as dark, to the eye, as the C2. So, I got a 43in 90b I'll try out and then decide. Go BestBuy.
Ha! So I looked at more of your videos, like the one on C2 as monitor, and your "set your desktop to SDR" suggestion and settings did the job. Thanks for the tips you give.
CTC, Can you do a TV settings video? Movies, gaming, etc. and recently, since there have probably been some updates since this video. Also, with the DSE, from my understanding, it is only is issue for some panels? How does it work exactly?
13:20 The elevated blacks, they're very dark, but noticeable. If some of you are alarmed by this, it's easibly fixable - setting the black level from 50 to 45 does the job. :)
What is the input lag difference? Looking to buy 50" 144Hz QN90B but read Samsung is going to launch full range of QD OLED TVs in few months time and I am sure they will have 144Hz on all sizes. Should I wait until next year or buy black Friday special now? I will be using it for gaming and PC monitor from a distance for work.
Great video. Thank you for all the effort you out into showing them as accurately as possible. At 12:00 you show a clip of buffalo in a field. The Samsung is notably more yellow. Does that show up in person and which is more accurate?
I had a q80b got at qn90b it's a sick ass tv ...cyberpunk looks dreamy...got it fir half price couldn't afford the oled LG...plus the game streaming apps on the TV also are a strong feature...bough it strictly for ps5 has all the tech needed 120 hrz allm vrr it's an impressive unit
If you go to 15:02, the blooming already looks pretty obvious there, and the subsequent one with the wheel looks even more pronounced. Even still, I am still considering the Samsung over the LG as I am planning to use it as a TV monitor, and the risk of burn-in is still a lingering thing as most of the time the PC will have windows/game UI elements that will degrade those pixels really fast. I think the blooming is tolerable in the vast majority of scenes and considering how the LG C2 is currently priced quite a bit more expensive than the Samsung, it's just not worth it.
@zxbc In December I took advantage of a one day sale at Best Buy and grabbed a 65 inch QN95B for $1799. This is my first 4k tv and the color and brightness is really something. The only slight blooming I have seen is during white letter captioning, which really is not a bug deal. Gaming is really impressive also as the tv has all the gaming features one needs for consoles, plus 144hz for PC gamers. The HDR displayed is impressive, though having DV would be a nice feature, it also is not a deal breaker to me. The screen actually is oddly reflective when off, having ambient light shining on it, but when the tv is on, there aren't any issues with glare. I suggest waiting a month or so, as when the new 2023 sets come out, prices should be dropping on the 2022 models so you can save some serious money like I did.
Hey classy, did you end up with the window nits with D65 calibration somewhere? I know it peaks at 1800 nits. but can you post what each sustained window is for the QN90B?
The image from the two TVs looks very similar. But considering that the QN90B is brighter and there is no danger of burning and printing static objects and logos, I would choose it.
The risk of burn-in on LG OLEDs is virtually nonexistent now, especially on the new EX panels. People use them as PC monitors which has an even higher risk, but even they haven't experienced any burn-in.
@@cun7us It always exists and will never be completely eliminated if organic materials are used. My C1 printed the TV logo at the top of the screen in just 4 months. Oh, I don't even remember when I spent more time on this channel. The claim that it doesn't burn is just marketing. Besides, after the first month I got a dead pixel, now it's 6.
Do you still have the QN90B? Or could you get it again like you did for the S95B because of the massive firmware changes for it? would love to see a comparison after the new filmmaker update with an oled both in accurate modes. Then the average picture level should be the same in all but the brightest scenes and the main difference will be the highlights and black levels, maybe colours too. It would be so much closer than this comparison. So then we can really see the difference in black levels when they are both trying to achieve the same level of brightness for darker areas. This comparison mostly makes everything misleading when the APL isn't the same, if you know what I mean....?
Got qn90b 75 with ps5 and current 1080 upscale update streaming looks great. I’m in room with 10’ windows constant sun. Electric blinds but can’t escape the light
A service tech is coming over next week to install a new panel and mother board in my QN90B. I can’t stand the rainbows and awful distortions of light on the screen. You can see this if a window isn’t covered by a blackout curtain. You can see it very easily even when the TV is off! Otherwise, I think it has a great picture. I hope they put a 2023 panel in it.
So if Game Mode is causing the problem, can you just turn that off and take the hit on response times for better HDR? Are the response times/input lag even a noticeable problem outside of game mode?
response times is a big problem even in game mode 144hz. im in the middle of returning my q90b cause of ghosting and dark smearing. Its a heart breaker cause the tv is complety perfcet otherwise. Now im left without and option cause oled is too dull.
@@joanhernandezciriza3797 I've since bought the 43in model to try for myself and I've loved it. You should also make the comparison both set to max brightness. Thats the power of the qn90b. But these day oled is the way to go. My 77G3 is so bright. Its crazy, comming from a C8.

I have the qn90b 65in and used it for half a week now. It looks really good in 4k content. At first i couldnt really see much blooming but now i see it but most of the time this tv does a great job. There is also something that is a real deal breaker for me... in non 4k non hdr content like netflix regular hd i see a lot of noise and artifacts especially in dark screens. Shows like queen of the south that has a lot of noise looks 10x worse on this tv compared to my 2018 q6fn qled. In dark scenes i see blockiness all over. The q90b also seems to over sharpen the picture even if i set the sharpness slider to zero. I dont know if there is something wrong with my panel but it doesnt seem right. Applying noise reduction seems to help a little but its still pretty ugly in comparison. (Note that my 2018 tv doesnt have noise reduction turned on). It is enough so that im considering returning it to best buy. Any of you guys getting this issue?
@@hard8gamingandagslive559 nah. i think its the first firmware and their are bugs that needs to be worked out. Guess i am the first adopter beta tester. Hope it will be fixed soon.

I am really surprised at so many OLED enthusiasts. Do you guys get so much options to control the light in your living room. I got a bright living room even after using the blinds and I dont want to use the blinds all the time. Its QLED all the way for me until one fine day the QD-OLED can safely touch 1500 nits and above all the time. Which by the way may take till 2024 at the least.
The new OLEDs still have a blue tint. And still only shine on pitch black viewing. That's why all these side by sides are in dark rooms and include a lot of dark scenes. For everyday viewing, the qled is great. For a home theater or room that is dark, OLEDs are great.
I don’t see this issue I’ve been playing so many games in HDR. I do have an oled to compare too and the QN90B is super vibrant and colorful. It is based on the game though as Native actually looks great in the games where Auto isn’t saturated enough. Most games Auto is saturated enough though!
Good job on this, although I wish you'd shown a little more dark scenes with little light which mostly seems to stress FALD (mini)LED TV's regarding blooming. Somehow no one ever does that for comparison.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations Hopefully you'll come back to us with more comparisons. Would be really nice to see those dark scenes side by side. In the Infinity War opening scene the outline of the space ship below and stars besides it were visible but had visible blooming around them. In QN90A the outline was hardly visible and stars were completely lost but had deep black. And yes back-light settings were at high on both. Gotta go lcd. The risk of burning on oled is just not worth the miniscule difference. Plus oled dims over time unlike lcd. For what we pay for these things, I want it to be just as bright as day I bought it years into the future.
Oleds tend to oversaturate everything and make the scenes look like they're something more than they are in reality. Just so you know and no matter how annoying the slight blooming might be in some cases, the LCD tvs will always be more accurate in general.

At 2:42 the dudes scarf is completely different color between the two. Pretty wild.
🔥
*Great video and I agree with how they were shot individually and presented like this for true representation
It's only on camera not in person. Even on my phone the oled looks blue.
Thanks for the comparison!
Personally I just feel OLED isn't practical for most people, and my only concern is that it's going to be annoying if you aren't going to use it in a room with no windows.
It makes the choice very easy to me, which means the QN90B is the one I'll be going for.
L choice
Thanks. Torn between the qn90b and c2. Told the former was a blooming exhibition. I don't game and the c2 is more. Qn90b is right for me, I think....

Nice, I'm trying to get one or the other for games.
The left screen looked to have a bit more motion blur? Or is that a false perception?
Its weird now how TV reviews are basically damned if they do due to firmware updates. These TVs could be way better just off firmware tweaks and we don't know if let alone when they could drop an update. I doubt the development time would be expensive, it'd be great if consumers held the makers to account for bugs and downgrades.
I'm using the C2 right now, as a monitor.
Downsides:
1) Dimming.
Which to do you prefer? Currently debating on keeping my c2 42" for my series x or getting a qn90b 43" while i can still return the c2
CTC, Can you do a TV settings video? Movies, gaming, etc. and recently, since there have probably been some updates since this video. Also, with the DSE, from my understanding, it is only is issue for some panels? How does it work exactly?
Would you recommend the newest qn95b over the 90b thanks for the content awesome review
I will be using it for gaming and PC monitor from a distance for work.
great review man! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I have seen several reviewers say that the QN90B had noticeable blooming in dark room viewing...what did you experience during your time with it?

Hey, make a comparison between the QN90B and the QN95B pls!
Do you think they will fix the gaming colours with an update at all?
Great video classy! Is that promo footage for Grand Turismo 7 in HDR? I’ll have to look for that demo. Or is that B roll from the game intro?
It's the game intro.
Omg, look at colors at Native on the QN90B! When set at Native colors must be even better than ADS! ;D
So if Game Mode is causing the problem, can you just turn that off and take the hit on response times for better HDR? Are the response times/input lag even a noticeable problem outside of game mode?
Curious about this as well
response times is a big problem even in game mode 144hz. im in the middle of returning my q90b cause of ghosting and dark smearing. Its a heart breaker cause the tv is complety perfcet otherwise. Now im left without and option cause oled is too dull.
@@joanhernandezciriza3797 I've since bought the 43in model to try for myself and I've loved it. I am really surprised at so many OLED enthusiasts. Do you guys get so much options to control the light in your living room. Do you know if they fixed the gaming color saturation issue with an update since this video?
Someone update pls.
The new OLEDs still have a blue tint. And still only shine on pitch black viewing. That's why all these side by sides are in dark rooms and include a lot of dark scenes. For everyday viewing, the qled is great. For a home theater or room that is dark, OLEDs are great.
All lights were on for both TVs when shooting them. And both TVs can be calibrated to perfect white.
The spear and munsil demo has a bunch of dark scenes.
Z9J blooming was bit more but shadow details were not lost at all. And the stars were much brighter as well. Oleds tend to oversaturate everything and make the scenes look like they're something more than they are in reality. Just so you know and no matter how annoying the slight blooming might be in some cases, the LCD tvs will always be more accurate in general.
