I Hated Power Swords in 40k, So I Tried a New Way to Paint Them

    The sort of "traditional" way to paint Warhammer 40k Power Swords has always bugged me. Having read about power weapons as sheaths of energy swirling around a normal metal weapon, I always thought the classic way I see them painted goes way too far with the effect, making it almost unrecognizable from a normal blade. I decided to experiment with the formula a little bit and in this tutorial I'll tell you how I painted my Assassin's power sword in a way that I think achieves my mental picture of these weapons while also paying tribute to the classics.

    Also Toasthammer: *Paints a power sword with a fluorescent orange gradient*
    I like the look! I don't think it's wildly revolutionary to paint a gradient of bright colour over metal, but it's a very quick way of painting power weapons that looks good on the tabletop and shortcuts the traditional method of layering glazes to get a NMM look.
