    You should put the visible outside wires into weather proof tubing. SMA inverters a great choice.

    You might think about changing the ac unit. It looks older and might help with your energy usage. Nice set up.

    Love your system. We too are off-grid: 20,640W PV, two solark12k, 134kWh LFE battery, 6.25T 16-33 SEER HP systems with all elec heat kits disabled, 80 gal elec wh, wood burner and 10kw Honeywell LP Gen for backup.

    That's a smart move on your part to run ac coupling inverters instead of a grid-tie inverter. high voltage low amps. wish you the best.

    I was going to comment about the shading on your panels, but... with SMA Sunny Boy inverters involved, they already have their ShadeFix proprietary shade management solution, so they can deal with shading very well...

    Does your battery bank ever disconnect from the Sunny Islands? I've read of some BMS disconnecting. And we have a pallet of batteries from another brand that are also having issues. I'm curious to know how stable these batteries have been.

    • @Gbemudu_
      @Gbemudu_ ปีที่แล้ว

      What kind of batteries do you. Batteries should not disconnect from inveters except for low voltage or high voltage. Which more than likely means you set your charge controller wrong or you have an inadequate charge controller

    Running similar sma sunny island ac coupled. Mine are tied directly to my ac buss. Sunny island usually only charges during the day, grid tie inverters cover all the daytime loads. I have large forklift batteries ( I'm more familiar with them). I have 150 kwh storage, sounds like a lot but is just comfortable.

    • @backtoeden2030
      @backtoeden2030  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a huge battery bank. I only have half of your bank. What is the size of your solar array?

    • @backhoefred
      @backhoefred 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@backtoeden2030 mine are two dedicated arrays one is 12 kw enphase the other an H6 delta grid tied to an 7kw and the smas island has a 2300 watt dc coupled array. The little only is an emergency backup so the batteries don't shut off the grid signal. If you need anymore info don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks Fred

      An update for winter here,we're on grid power for the house. The Smas are powering (with a constant struggle for energy. No shutoff because my Hobart welder generator is in the system automatically controlling when it needs it. We don't monitor usage because our shop has to run each day and be productive. When the lead acids die I am going to replace them with large Lifpo not server rack style,type that are forklift duty.

  • @honesty_-no9he

    You sir are a wise man. Your family is blessed to have *YOU* as their provider and protector. I too believe that we're all about to experience something truly devastating and a dramatic diminished standard of living in America. Survival, during a crisis is dictated by and solely contingent upon the population density of the surrounding areas near your home. The more people there are, the more danger exists by virtue of the mostly unprepared, enraged and vicious masses of humanity. What we will see will be akin to The Walking Dead, minus the zombies. Crime will explode, civility will become a thing of the past. The value of human life will be greatly reduced. We are in for some truly debilitating times. Stay safe, remain armed and continue to do everything humanly possible to protect and care for your family, and don't forget about *YOURSELF* sir.

Here are a few suppliers; Solar-electric.com, ecodirect.com, invertersuply.com, solaris-shop.com. Hope this helps. The also have different size batteries to goo with your budget.

    What's your DC voltage from the pannels. You have to be careful to not over load the inverters. My max voltage is 500 volts so I kept it at 480 to not overload it.

    • @backtoeden2030
      @backtoeden2030  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The DC Max voltage if 600v per input and my inverter have 3 inputs each. I only have about 400v in to each channel. Thank you

    You Mentioned adding 2 more sunny islands for a total of 4 , curious why ? You could reduce your loads significantly by replacing the Clothes dryer and water heater with heat pump units. Very nice system that will last , I like it . $85,000. in lithium batteries makes me nauseous. :>)

    What inputs are you using for your paralleled PV strings?
    SMA has a 10a limit per input.
    I’m assuming you’ve paralleled inputs a and b right?

    • @backtoeden2030
      @backtoeden2030  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 9.8 amps per series and 3 inputs per sunny boy which worked out perfect

    Hello, it is a nice and very powerful installation. The cooling pump, is it also a heating pump (I do not know if you need a heating pump in your country)?
    Is it a single-phase pump?

    • @backtoeden2030
      @backtoeden2030  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For heating, we have central heating furnace that oil powered by propane. We also have wood burning stove that we use to heat the home since we have lots of wood to use for firewood.

      @@backtoeden2030 I am searching for a solution because in Greece we use 3 phase heating pumps, up to 16-18 kw of power heating. And this is, to my opinion, the most heavy load in a house. I'm afraid that it's not so easy to solve this question of heating or cooling the house.
      For the rest of the loads in a house, it must not be a major issue.

    • @backtoeden2030
      @backtoeden2030  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kostaskostopoulos2913 The sunny island inverters that I am using can be used for a 3 phase connection but you will need there of them; one per phase for a total of 18KW. The are 6KW each and are made in Germany. They generate 56 amps per phase. Here in the USA, the 6000W inverter is the larges we approved but I know they have an 8000W inverters that I have see being used in Europe. If you can source an 8kw inverter (3 for a 24kw systemic 3 phase) This may work for your situation.

    Matthew 24:3-14
    3 While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”4 In answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads you,5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.6 You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for these things must take place, but the end is not yet.7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.9 “Then people will hand you over to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name.10 Then, too, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another.11 Many false prophets will arise and mislead many;12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness, the love of the greater number will grow cold.13 But the one who has endured to the end will be saved.14 And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
