Your engineering and art skills are simply amazing as I'm sure you've been told time and time again. The time it takes to do the install alone is daunting I'm sure, yet you are kind enough to share it anyway. I've expressed my humble thanks before, and continue to do so. For those of us that car audio hobbyists, you open up a world of possibilities we never imagined. Thanks again.
Great video. I have only ever pulled a dash once, and that was back in the 90's. Less electronics, fairly easy but still felt like a daunting task at the time. Well done!
Excellent job, I have always been a fan of speakers on the dash, in my opinion you get the most realism to a home system with speakers in front at ear/eye level.
hey it worked out great for me,i just used the oem dash speaker location aimed at the glass with a wide band,it was just a test, honestly just dont feel like building a pillars and well it sounds really really good to me.which is all that matters in the end.
Looks spot on. Certainly more complicated than my set up. Also on a insignia. Just stuck some 3.5 pod speakers on both sides with wiring going to a DSP. Wiring hides behind the pillers.
Ive wanted to use factory speaker location before but didnt like the idea of it having to reflect off the windsheild. This being a SQ build I guess its not as big of a deal as I make it. Guess time delay corrects this?
Jud -AsinSmith- Stansell no, EQ corrects it just like in many other cases! Even if you have speakers on pillars/sails, you steel fight with reflections and you still need EQ-ing.
Trying to learn about “sound” …… with them firing directly at the glass , has math been done to dial in the imaging? Sorry if this is a silly Q! I just thought the 🔊 needed to be pointed at you to really enjoy it
@@ryanhanneman3336 we usually build true stereo, L&R systems to competition standards and this system was built to the highest competition levels where centrefill has zero point. The system stages and images perfectly and gives holographic centre image for the driver anyway. In daily systems where speaker locations are not ideal, stage is low, then a centrefill tuned well can help.
@@pssound9749 what are your thoughts on running 2 inch midrange like the audison ap2 prima instead of classic tweeters in the corners? Or are there any better 2" drivers besides them that I don't know about?
Peter, another inspirational install. It's nice to see deeper into a dash build, the details and complexities that you have to surpass to accomplish your goal are amazing! Can you do a video on how you get the hi-res player or an iPad powered and wired to feed signal into the DSP. Are you using a DAC or wireless product like the Masconi AMAS96KS? thank you, stay safe.
Len Fiio DAPs i use run on coax digital, so all it needs is a coax cable with phono plugs at each end, dead simple. iPads normally run via BT stream on Helix and Zapco DSPs. I only really use those 2 brands. They are not on permanent charge as they are removable. If tablet was installed permanent, then you need the camera kit for iPad or USB hub for android units.
@@pssound9749 Thank you Peter. Are you soldering the phono plug onto the coax? I cannot find a phono plug that has a female end that will accept the coax cable. Currently I am upgrading my iPad Air 2 to the 11" Pro, it's in a removable Soundman Slider Kit, with a lot custom fabricating to look "factory" (your inspiration to details). I have a Helix P 6 DSP MK2, which I can get the BT module for, however, I am thinking of up grading the DSP to either the Ultra or Pro MK2, to amp the front active set up. Either of those I would get the BT module as well so that will take care of the iPad. thanks again, stay safe, cheers!
@@pssound9749 Hi Peter, I have just answered my own second question. The DSP 6 does not have the Coax input, so I was thinking you where making a digital optical (tousling) cable and putting phono ends on it, lol. So the DSP Pro or Ultra might come sooner :-)
Len Silvester o o oo, slow down now! 😃😂 Fiio DAPs i use come with a 3pin mini-jack to female phono adaptor, so it’s dead easy to plug it into just the male phono/rca plug and off you go! So the source end in that case is covered! Now, on the receiver end: if you have a DSP with coax input, then it’s a no brainer! If there’s only an optical input, then it only costs around $20 to buy a digital-digital converter and convert coax to optical without any loss of quality! Check out the amp rack video in the Kia that was shared in December from like 5 mins onwards and you’ll see how it was done there! Now onto your source case: if you have an iPad, then you could also use the HEC USB and have a wired connection with the Apple camera adapter kit....or just use the HEC BT. 🤷🏻♂️
@@pssound9749 Peter!! You are the best!! Thank you once again :-). Out of all your videos, the Kia Soul amp rack I MISSED...SHIT!! I was able to locate, on amazon Canada, the exact digital-digital you used in the KIA . For another $25, I ordered one that also has BT capability, hmmm, might solve the iPad at the same time. Unfortunately the BT for the Helix P-six is not available in North America at this time, which is ok, makes me want the Ultra or Pro that much more :-). Then I have to decide what amplifier(s) to add for the active front end ...hmmmm, decisions :-). Cheers

Hi Peter,
Just wanted to know, installing 4 inch midrange in doors a good option compared with dash or pillar?
Right I'm going try this, where is my jigsaw 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

Chris Wray hopefully the next 2 will be the same! 😎

peter are you using stp gold ? STP is solid man ! i love the aero series
Yes, great products. We used STP On this one as the client supplied it.
Any concern around the airbags with vibration and possible electrical interference ?
Rude Jude airbag is not deployed by vibration, but by the signal it gets from the sensors at an impact.
