I'm Still Searching and My Town are my two favourite Glass Tiger songs, for two different reasons. I'm Nova Scotian, so I'm partial to My Town for obvious reasons. Glass Tiger has always been a great band, and growing up to their music, among others, has been the soundtrack to my youth.
I was 5 years old. 1992. The power went out. We ordered pizza because we couldn’t cook. Dad had a battery radio from 1955. I heard this song on am radio and fell in love instantly. At 12 my parents divorced. I was home searching with my dad in Newmarket Ontario. He put in a bid on the house where Glass Tiger did their rehearsing. We looked through the windows and there was music equipment everywhere. We never ended up getting the bid, but it was super cool to come full circle and see the actual history of music!
Wow.that sounds like a deep thought with a special connection to a song back in your memories. Music has a strange way of triggering our fondest moments. God bless.
What a wonderful story! I just placed "My Town" on a work-requested playlist of our team's favorite songs of all-time. Glass Tiger music is STILL speaking to us... over 35 years after they first hit Canadian and US airwaves. This song is "breath". I still connect with GT's best in a very profound way. - Douglas
This song reminds me of my Father. He lived at the baltic see til 2012 and the melody just reminds me of the early 90s beeing at his house, after a long walk at the beach in autumn.. He died this year and we brought him back to his town for his funeral. Now he is near of his former house and near the beach we used to walk on and hopefully find his peace.
I LOVE this Canadian classic. Sometimes, I feel like I'm living in Scotland when I'm living here in Nova Scotia. Obviously, what's missing is that rich Scottish accent, and we drive on the right side of the road instead of the left. But I love listening to this song even though I'm not Scottish, and yet, I'm living in New Scotland (or Nova Scotia in Latin).
I’ve been to Nova Scotia, but not yet to Scotia. I was 20 years old when I discovered my paternal roots. My hope is that one day I may hike the highlands of my ancestors. ❤️🏴
Growing up in Nova Scotia, Canada I always heard of Glass Tiger and heard their songs on the radio. Never paid much attention to them and thought they were an 80's band trying to hold on to the remaining fame. A few years ago they came and played at an outdoor festival which I attended. Allen Frew introduced this song and talked about the meaning behind it and described how it is only fitting to sing it here in Nova Scotia. I never listened to the lyrics before, but I was blown away. What a performance. Now every time I listen to it I get a little choked up. I am forever a fan now.
Cape Breton will always be in my heart ❤️ No matter how long you live away, as soon as you get off your flight and take a breath of fresh air your heart feels settled ❤
Its' 131am on a May 29th 2024 and I just sent a message to my LOVE in life who grew up in Peggy's Cove NS now an RCMP officer for the past 5yrs in Alberta up north....I pray we find each other again not just in our "Town" but forever on this Earth.... Rachel D... is my LOVE!!!
What a beautiful song; I heard it for the first time, although I have known Glass Tiger for over 30 years; as an Irishman long in exile this song moves me; may God bless you guys! 👍
The first time I ever heard this song was back in Nigeria in the 2000s when I was a kid. The radio in my dad's car use to play songs from America and I loved this one🥰👍 I never knew the name or the band but the chorus always stuck with me. Then I discovered it on TH-cam. Glass Tiger are amazing!
Song always made me homesick for Northern Ireland love my home country born and bread in two beautiful countries shaped my character gave me solid values and happiness and a love for nature and culture glad the troubles in 1977 died remember 401,huge cars Elvis had died and new freinds and family and pure culture shock all good 👍
It was probably said since not many 17 yr olds listen to the 80s music nowadays. I think it's so very awesome that kids these days will listen and end up liking the songs from my youth
I am 30 year old and I am from a remote place in India. I think Canadian, Australian and New Zealand bands are underrated compared to their US counterparts.
You feel the Pride in this song no matter where you're from and your home town.... Bring the wind to carry me over Lead me home to my town Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town When I think of you scotia There's a love that just bleeds in my heart In my childhood days, we went our different ways But you knew that we'd never part Now I'm all alone And your calling me home You knew our love could never die And though my roaming eyes always lead me astray Well I'm coming back home Scotia don't walk away Bring the wind to carry me over Lead me home to my town Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town So when I think of you scotia There's a magic that fills the air We're the downtown boys Making all that noise Oh we live like we just don't care So we drank our fill For king and country Yeah til the last soldier fell Berlington Bertie, your in my heart forever I want to drown in the stories you tell Bring the wind to carry me over Lead me home to my town Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town Oh to my town You make me owe I can't ever be If I should fall Your love will rescue me Bring the wind to carry me over (carry me over) Lead me home to my town (to my town) Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town Oh oh oh oh Carry me over Lead me home to my town (to my town) Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town Bring the wind to carry me over Lead me home to my town Tell me when that breeze is blowin' Takin' me home to my town

Love the 80's music, this was one of my favoured band Glass Tiger,In the 80's they had the far the best bands with good quality music that is meaningful and touches your heart and soul. other great bands such as Honey moon suite,Bryan Adams, Corey Heart, Adam Ant,Billy Idol,Simple Minds,a-ha.
Great song, great band! Couldn't believe my luck one afternoon when flying home from Toronto to Nova Scotia and they were on the same flight to Halifax. I was literally sandwiched in between the keyboardist and the guitarist...it was a nice sandwich. Very down-to-earth guys. 🙂
Lucky! I was doing some electrical work for Swearnet a couple years ago, and one day they stopped by while I was there. So not only did I get to meet the Trailer Park Boys, I got to meet Glass Tiger as well! Totally unexpected, but such an awesome day. I didn't get to really hang out and interact with them too much, but got a few pics and autographs, and everyone was super nice.
I'm from southern Brasil ,I lived in Cape Breton - Nova Scotia working in the area and when I listen to this I want to drive an old 80s box car shifting gears as hard as I can, listen to this almost 4 o clock in the morning smoking some cigs and drink whiskey ,no woman , no cry ,no job but music is what makes the heart sing
The almost unbelievable thing for me was that Glass Tiger performed as opening act with this song (among others of course) at the live concerts of ROXETTE :) I remember you guys well and immediately became a fan then. ;) Hope you doin' fine and best greetings :)
I was at The Old Toll Bar in Paisley listening to this last years while in Scotland ❤️🏴 and Alan Frew was also born in Coatbridge Scotland was Grandfathers hometown
Also being Canadian I heard this long as a kid and that chorus stuck in my head, even tho I heard of Glass Tigers tunes I didn't know this one was there's. Yesterday i tried to look for "the song in my head" asking TH-cam a few words and here I am.

You probably are Scottish by blood.
Nova Scotia rules!!!! " New Scotland"
❤️
I agree, the version of this with Rod Stewart is the best I have heard.
BTW, here in Saskatchewan we drive on "what's LEFT of the roads".. LOL
Am from Elora Ontario Canada. But I am Scottish and this song is shot in Glasgow Scotland. Right beside my family's home..
I’ve been to Nova Scotia, but not yet to Scotia. I was 20 years old when I discovered my paternal roots. My hope is that one day I may hike the highlands of my ancestors. ❤️🏴

Wunderschöner Song! Damals , heute und in 50 Jahren und mehr!😊
You feel the Pride in this song no matter where you're from and your home town....
Bring the wind to carry me over
Lead me home to my town
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
When I think of you scotia
There's a love that just bleeds in my heart
In my childhood days, we went our different ways
But you knew that we'd never part
Now I'm all alone
And your calling me home
You knew our love could never die
And though my roaming eyes always lead me astray
Well I'm coming back home
Scotia don't walk away
Bring the wind to carry me over
Lead me home to my town
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
So when I think of you scotia
There's a magic that fills the air
We're the downtown boys
Making all that noise
Oh we live like we just don't care
So we drank our fill
For king and country
Yeah til the last soldier fell
Berlington Bertie, your in my heart forever
I want to drown in the stories you tell
Bring the wind to carry me over
Lead me home to my town
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
Oh to my town
You make me owe
I can't ever be
If I should fall
Your love will rescue me
Bring the wind to carry me over (carry me over)
Lead me home to my town (to my town)
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
Oh oh oh oh
Carry me over
Lead me home to my town (to my town)
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
Bring the wind to carry me over
Lead me home to my town
Tell me when that breeze is blowin'
Takin' me home to my town
