Know what I miss? The seasons from gen 5. It was always found it kind of fun that depending on which month you were playing, the aesthetics of the world were different, and even locations/rarities of different species were different. Really encouraged you to come back to the game after some time to access areas you couldn't before, find different pokemon, etc. I always kind of hoped that would've stuck, like the day/night cycle more or less has.
Huge same. I wouldn't mind if they made it compressed a bit like the Scarlet/Violet day/night cycle but it really feels like a dropped opportunity that seasons were so short lived.
The biggest thing that I miss is the ability to change the order of your moves by hitting select during a battle. Not only was it super fast and convenient, but being forced to do it outside of battle makes me forget constantly.
Agreed. It was a nice and handy feature that’s even more useful nowadays with the ability to alter movesets. I also found it super clunky that rearranging moves and remembering moves were two separate menus. Legends Arceus had the same problem.
Not so much a 'feature' more of a trend, but I liked how through gen 3, they kept on teasing Gen 4. In XD you could find a Bonsly & Munchlax and in Rescue Team Red/Blue you could unlock statues for Weavile & Lucario. Imagine if you 100% Pokestar Studios you could meet & battle Diantha.
I just miss proper Day/Night and Seasons systems. Made the act of hunting around for 'mons a lot more entertaining. Mega evolution was pretty cool, I liked how they had like, unique designs and stuff. Much cooler than turning into a rock or being expanded.
Nobody ever includes berry pots in this sort of list. Small planters where you would plant your berries, and carry your berry trees around with you. They were very convenient and were only present in HGSS.
A feature that wasn't mentioned in the video that I loved was PokeNav in ORAS. It allowed you to see all the available pokemon on a particular route and then filter the encounters so that only the one thing you wanted would spawn.
I'm doing a DexNav Only run in Omega Ruby right now and it's really cool! As you fight certain Pokemon enough, you can start finding them with either Egg Moves, Hidden Abilities, higher levels, held items, or a combination (even all of them, but it's super rare).
A feature that I missed from FireRed and LeafGreen was the recap you got on loading up a save so that you could remember what you'd done and figure out what was next, instead of needing to figure out both
What I really liked about Ultra Sun and Moon was that those games were the ones that had the most additional Pokémon features and it was so over the top it really made you feel like you were the most powerful trainer. Like you could have a team with a Pokémon with mega evo, then switch to a Pokémon with a Z-Move, then switch to a Pokémon with primal reversion(which wasn't mentioned on the video) and we also had ultra beasts. Also the introduction of ultra beasts kinda explains why we have some of these features in only some games, apparently some of the games and remakes happen on different dimensions?
I think the only reason people actively disliked Pokestar Studios is because you were forced to participate at least once and it really made no sense in the story. If not for that, I think people would probably remember it more fondly, cause it was far from a bad minigame. I liked it.
I hated Pokestar Studios for that exact reason. It was far too similar to Pokémon contests in Gen 3 and 4, but at least in those games it wasn’t forced into the player. I probably would’ve liked it more if it wasn’t forced into the game
Absolutely. I wanna participate in it whenever I go through B2W2 to "100%" it but every single time I've been forced to do it in the story I sigh. Hell I even hate that I know by heart how it plays out.
GameFreak are absolute masters at removing beloved features for no good reason at all. I get that you can't keep every single new feature throughout the generations and that new games need to innovate in some form, but I remember being really upset that B/W lacked several features that I *loved* about their predecessors (think V.S. Seeker, Secret Bases, Poké Radar, Underground, ...). Great video.

In Scarlet/Violet there was only one double battle and it felt incredibly good. I don't fight online but build teams during the main game where the pokemon could help each other if they just could.
I really miss the small housekeeping-ish things. Stuff like checking my Poke Pelago islands for pokemon or items, collecting berries from the various berry plants, or checking all my honey trees. Small stuff like that were what kept me playing pokemon games even after I 100% them, cause frankly, pokemon games, especially new ones, run out of content fast. Stuff like that doesn't appear in new games anymore, unless you count checking raid dens in gens 8-9, but I didn't really like those. I also miss post game story's. Like housekeeping chores. those let me play pokemon games long then usual, but with gen 9 those seem to have disappeared, (The Way Home I feel is too connected to the rest of the game to be post game in my eyes, I always thought the post game started after you beat that story). Or just Post game areas like a Battle frontier or the Sevi islands or something!
The berry pots from HGSS would be a welcome return, allowing growing of berries without needing you to explore across the region to plant, maintain and harvest berries.
I noticed a long while ago that there tends to be one BIG gimmick that might stay around for a generation or two, and between 2 and 5 smaller gimmicks that may get moved forward or completely dropped. And even the stuff that gets moved forward tends to get changed or rolled into a different gimmick. Main example is gen 6's Pokemon Amie, which became that washing mechanic in 7, to playing with your pokemon in 8 when you camp, and now it's back to also washing them in Scarlet and Violet.
One mechanic that I wish would come back and play a bigger role is Inverse Battles. There were very few times you could even do this in the series, and only in Gen 6, but it was such a cool concept of taking the usual type matchups and turning them on their head.
Game freak has this obsession with reinventing the wheel and coming up with cool ideas that everyone likes, only to discard them as quickly as they come like a kid with ADHD instead of keeping them and expanding them like fans want.
My favorite removed feature was the Sevii Islands, they didn't return in the "Let's Go" games. Other then that, most features I care about have returned.
Perfect to do a post-game while expanding the story and character roster so there wasn’t as much need to adjust the base game as a remake. Purists had their remastered experience while those looking for something extra had that, and it was ideal for foreshadowing Team Rocket’s storyline in Johto.
I pray to Arceus multiple times every night for pokeathlon to come back, I loved it and I loved that it was a mini game that you can play as all of your Pokémon and get good rewards for it
I really loved the Pokéathlon Dome from HS/SS. It had fun little mini games and you could get cool prizes. I haven’t played every game so I dunno if there are other games that have this feature but I assumed it was just the Gen 2 remakes
2:13 pokestar studios is actually a fairly popular casual feature. It was definitely a feature I absolutely binged back in B2W2. It was overall just fun being able to feel like a true actor.
The Game Corner was also cut from the Korean Versions of the game, as gambling is actually prohibited in South Korea (despite GSC and DP seemingly having them in Korea). One thing to note is that despite us usually getting the European games, the version we got in Australia never actually removed it, causing Pokémon Platinum to get a higher age rating (albeit not by that much, it was PG rather than just G).
2:10 I dunno where you got that info from. I LOVE Pokestar studios and was absolutely my favorite side-game in all of pokemon alongside contests. It's just one of the coolest things ever. And I am sure there are plenty of fans like me who are bummed that it never returned.
I liked it for casual play, but it's a big pain when you're forced to go through it on replays. It had some really neat stuff, though, including some type combinations we hadn't seen yet (and some we still haven't), as well as just some neat concepts.
2:05 Oi! I love PokéStar Studios! It was a lot of fun seeing how you could first play under certain conditions with a preset party to try to complete a specified mission, then try again with your own party, only trying to get two other endings by completing different objectives! I spent a lot of time in that part of the game!
I don't believe you mentioned rotation battles, another new battle style that was in the generation 5 games. Basically the three pokemon you send out are on a rotating disk you can move left or right to choose which one you'd like up front, while the other two rest in the back, safe from damage.
i was looking for this comment! i loved rotation battles i really wish they wouldve stuck around. to my knowledge you cant even do rotation battles in showdown :[
I stayed in Pokestar studios and barely progressed when I first got there. That place was very enjoyable and far superior to the musicals in BW and BW2.
I'm so glad you mentioned the Pokemon Contests! It was my favorite thing to do in my first pokemon game, which was Pokemon Ruby. I suppose they were technically super easy for most, but I had the added challenge of contending with the unexpected feature of Gen 3, which was cartridge clock battery death~ So I was limited to a finite number of berries, and therefore a finite number of pokeblocks to work with. It certainly added an extra difficulty level as I deliberated between training a pokemon on a specific move to increase its stats, or use one of the only few pokeblocks I have to help boost its stats artificially.
I miss the dream world from bw you could send your Pokémon to your Pokémon account which made it actually worth having. Then play some browser mini games to get hidden ability Pokémon from earlier gens
I miss the ability to TURN OFF experience share. I understand why they do it, and I get that I can store pokemon. But I like to travel with my main team and explore, and unfortunately, they over-level like crazy and it screws up my EV training.
Another Gen 6 one was the Battle Chateau, where you could battle trainers to raise your rank. It also served as a gym leader rematch area iirc, another overall feature we haven’t seen in many generations.
Underground minigames my beloved, i really miss finding not only fossil but a whole bunch of nice items like evolution stones or Arceus plates. It's one of the reasons I really likes pokemon unbound as a romhack, since they incorporated it and even added gems and stuff to it
I missed the Pokestar Studios because they have some INSANE stories the vast majority of people never saw, if gen 5 remakes ever include bw2, I hope they slightly re-do them to be easier, or make its forced tutorial more straight-forward an explanation. Double battles in general is another, it's kind of insane to me the standard battle format is Doubles, but there's no option to even play with them for every game but Colosseum/XD. It really doesn't help the insane gap between beginner playsrs and anyone wanting to try online when they find this bad fact out! In addition to that is Inversion battles, which I think was a cool idea to play around with, even if it technically would break a lot of types (Electric for example)
My only wish was that mega evolutions were more balanced, given to weak pokemon to make them good, rather than great pokemon to make them broken. I feel like if they weren't so unbelievably broken, they may have come back.
I kind of miss Rotation Battles from Gen 5 and Inverse Battles from Gen 6. They're rather interesting strategy-wise, but there was never any reason to get good at them. There were also Sky Battles from Gen 6 that I hated. I always had a Flying type for the Fly HM, but that was it. I would get ambushed and forced into a 6 on 1 battle. Terrible idea.
My issue with Mega Evolution was who got it. They needed to give it to more mons like Beedrill or Steelix who underperformed and *less* like Mewtwo (Who got TWO!) Garchomp and Salamence.
Not gonna lie, I miss the secret bases and hoped that having a dorm room we would have been able to decorate ours. Especially since we couldn't customize our character...
I miss being able to change my battle style. You were only able to do it in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, but to me it was the coolest thing to see my character do a little twirl before throwing her pokeball.
I'd personally love if pokemon added a battle system into home (or maybe a seperate app idk) that allowed players to battle using rules from a chosen generation. Then people could have teams built for the battle style they prefer. Still want mega evolution battles? Select gens 6 or 7. Rotation battles? Select gen 5 or 6. etc.
After being away from Pokémon for about 10+ years and recently starting to play Roms like radical red, I thought the mega evolutions were just an add on from the guys that created the Roms
BLASPHEMY! Pokestars Studios is great! A great side mode and perfect example of how bad the newer games are. They lack any interesting side quests or modes and of course GF has only continued to strip features. Seriously, getting rid of *Set Mode*? It baffles me how fans can defend the franchise's constant removal of gameplay features and content, but I guess that's what extreme brand loyalty gets ya.
The feature I miss the most is Inverse Battles from X and Y. They brought it back in ORAS and then never again for some reason. Very simple but extremely unique feature. I really hope it comes back in the future
I kinda miss triple battles Edit: While the move Chatter is/was in the games, the ability to hear your voice jumbled up while chatot used it was removed. I miss that but i can see why they removed that
One feature I see almost nobody talk about is Battle Royals from Gen 7 which gave us the infamous character the Mask Royal. I did partake in it a few times and it’s definitely an interesting way to battle
You should’ve mentioned that the underground and bases did return in BDSP though I hated how they took most of the decor away and we just had the statues. The flag game and traps were gone too. The grand underground and extra Pokémon were cool though given that they didn’t use platinum dex. Also walking Pokémon. I like that you can kinda do it in Paldea though and in the Galar dlc. I want the Legejds Arceus catch mechanics back so we can either sneak up or do regular battling with wild Pokémon. You forgot inverse battles and rotation battles. And battle royals but idk if anyone liked that or not
I'm pretty sure it's recent return is why Walking Pokémon was never mentioned. If this video were made five or so years earlier, then it would've been there for sure. However, HGSS had the Gold Leaf feature that was accessed this way, so that could've been something he mentioned.
I miss being able to use the touchscreen for boxes and menus. It was so much faster, easier, and more convenient than having to use a D-Pad to go through them. Even worse, the Nintendo Switch has a touchscreen. It should at least be an option when playing in handheld mode.
Idk if this counts but I miss the poke pelago in ultra sun and moon with the beans, random pokemon encounters and the spas. I found it pretty cool to have.
I was disappointed that Mega Evolution didn't become a franchise mainstay and expanded upon. I wouldn't mind seeing a future Pokémon game try to incorporate and balance all the current battle gimmicks into a single game.
The game corner was an amazing disservice to gambling, it thought countless young kids how boring slot machines are compared to going out and about and actually earning enough to afford a cool reward
Surprised you mentioned Triple battles but not it's weirder cousin, Rotation Battles. A triple battle where only one pokemon attacks but you can switch which of the three pokemon is the one doing the attacking each turn. It added a lot of strategy to battle but no one really remembers it or cares about it.
What I miss the most is the Wi-Fi plaza, I used to play a lot there and relax with people online and even with my sister, so when Nintendo closed the NWFC it was truly sad for me :(
It wasn’t super helpful for me as a kid who was playing them 24/7, but I know a lot of people could really use the journaling features that were in gens 3 and 4 I believe. The switch can be very good for quick pick up and play for a small amount of time, but in a lot of cases you’d like to continue doing what you were doing in the game rather than forget and run and do something else, so it would be really nice to have an in-game reminder of what you were up to
Battle Frontier was best postgame so much to do after the main game heck rematching the Elite 4 and Champion was fun to! Why take away features that add more to the game.
Also on a related note, also miss the elite 4 having unlockable harder rematches. They seem to only be a thing they weirdly only keep doing in the remakes.
@@ETRdav1d those are the sprites for home. Even pokemon like ash greninja and az floette appear as sprites. those pokemon don’t exist anymore so theyre for home
@@jfb173jb Mega Evolution is the best gimmick as it actually required game freak to put effort into making the game. Dynamax is literally just big Pokemon and Tera-whatever is just turning a pokemon into a different type
@@moekitsune it broke the game more than helped. Also if you want a mechanic like megas just play Digimon. That's basically what megas are. A 1 per battle digivolution. To be honest I think they weren't supposed to be in the Alola games. Thats why they didn't add any more and dropped both that and Z moves for Galar. They'll just keep doing a new battle mechanic each gen.
Unpopular opinion but I actually hate how underutilized and underappreciated rotation battles were. It was so fun trying to make a strategy over what direction someone could rotate in and what to hit them with, like 5D chess
Megas, Z moves, Teras and Triple Battles have always been the best ones, never cared for Dmax or Gmax. O Powers and Rotom powers were cool. PSS was cool. Never cared for Voltorb Flip, that being said agreed regarding UK and I find it strange how auctions are fine but gambling isn't? Aren't those pretty much almost the same thing? Agreed regarding Apricorns and the related ball variants and the Seals.
I do believe we can annoy nintendo enough to make them bring Mega-evolutions Z-moves, G-max and Terra are all simply boring and not special compared to megas. Megas are awesome because they are exclusive/unique/special and not all pokemon having it make them more exclusive and interesting
2:06 excuse you i LOVED the pokestar studios so much, as a kid i used to say 'take me home buddy' to my flying type whenever it brought me back there i loved going through all the different options and making a bunch of money i never got to see and getting more items than i could hold from fans i spent over a thousand hours in my white 2 and a considerable chunk of that was in the pokestar studios
Mega evolution is theoretically the best feature to be added (and then removed) to the game, but the implementation was so bad. Too many pokemon that should have never gotten a mega (pseudo legendary and legendary pokemon), and a lot of pokemon that needed them to be viable didn't get any (fan favorites here are Flygon and Luxray). I wish it would come back, but remove the mega's from pokemon that didn't need the stat increase, and give them to pokemon that do need the stats instead. That way you might actually have a system in place that can be expanded upon. Edit: If there is anything I want back, it's Secret Bases though.
I really loved the return of the contest feature in Generation 6. I thought it was nicely done and it made me feel like I was an actual Pokemon coordinator. I would have to coordinate moves in order to obtain a good score with the judges. The Gen4 reboot contests don't feel as good or as user-friendly as the ones found in gen-6.
About the slot machines being removed starting in HGSS, well in France (and in Europe in general) it was also removed in Platinum and so the last games you could play the slot machines were the og Diamond and Pearl.
Was I the only one who LOVED triple battles? My heart was broken when they didn't have them for gen 7. I made several gimmicks with surf/water absorb and discharge/volt absorb. It was super fun for me.
My personal favorite feature that was never made again after Gen 5, specifically Black2/White2, is the Join Avenue & the Medal System. The JA was awesome because you were basically building your own mall with the things you can buy from specific vendors like evolution items, EVs and friendship for cheap. The Medal system finally gave pokemon something close to a "trophy system," like in playstation and xbox and gave me, a completionist, something to work for. It made me play for over 500 hrs just trying to complete it and now its just sad that nothing like that has come back since then.
majorleague hopeium but I am hoping for Gen X we can get a game where you can set up your house fully, lots of pokemon plushies and all the fixins like underground/hidden base kinda thing and also to get some of the features back, the switch has the capability of handling a lot more then what would fit on a GBC/GBA/DS cart so I feel like we should be able to get a truly epic game holding tons of features.
Gen VI’s inverse battles, which reversed type match-ups. In XY it was in a house on a late game route against one NCP, and only once a day, which was very frustrating because of the potential in the premise. This could have been the USP of a gym, a tournament area (or even a Battle Frontier type facility) or a rematch of the Elite Four, or a condition the player could invoke, making battles a bit harder by challenging muscle memory in regards to type matches. You’re facing a water type, instinct is to use a grass or electric type but if under Inverse conditions, you’d be better off with a fire, rock or ground type because the tables have turned. It’s even simple to carry forward because it hasn’t got an item attached or region specific mechanic behind it, and doesn’t require extra resources like triple or rotation battles do. It could even be a move effect or special ability, there are moves and abilities that swap stats and reverse how stats inform priority of moves such as Trick Room giving advantage to slower Pokemon. The terrain and weather moves strengthen attacks of a specific type, something that’s gone back to Gen 2 for the weather moves and a Pokemon that flips the type chart around is a far better gimmick than over half a dozen visual variations.
Battle Frontier and Battle Tower. I spent so much time at the Battle Frontier on Emerald and a little bit on Platinum. I don't believe I ever received a badge from there but it was so much fun exploring there and battling.
As someone who hasn't played some gen 4, I actually learned a lot about weird features in this video. Like, I never really understood what mega evolutions were before this or anything
BDSP has secret bases and the underground. It's a remake, so.. duh. But weirdly it wasn't mentioned, unlike the other returning features in those games.
While I don't miss how convoluted it was, I wish they tried to fix/ improve the difficulty modes from b2w2 instead of dropping them. I also miss learning different poses to throw my pokeball out with, Imagine if we customize the gigantamax or terrastalize cutscene with it.

Gen 5 remakes is probably when we'll see them again
Yeah and the seasons were beautiful in the Gen 5 games.
Also the musicians in certain areas. It's gimmicky, but I thought it was cool af to have NPCs who actually add to the music.
Gen 5 is just overall incredible. I thought that in 2011 and I think it now.
The biggest thing that I miss is the ability to change the order of your moves by hitting select during a battle. Not only was it super fast and convenient, but being forced to do it outside of battle makes me forget constantly.

I know! They could do it on the GBA, but on the Switch oh no you can't do that you have to go through a pokemon summary to do it
I didn’t know you could do this at all and I’ve been playing since gen 1
Well. Today I learned something new after almost 25 years

I was looking for this comment! I loved Pokestar Studios!! I really would like to see it come back eventually.
When I played that game I didn't know how to speak English and was so confused lmao
I liked it for casual play, but it's a big pain when you're forced to go through it on replays.
It had some really neat stuff, though, including some type combinations we hadn't seen yet (and some we still haven't), as well as just some neat concepts.
@@SilverZephyrFalcon Yeah. The forced tutorial sucks in spite of Rioluman.
I love everything else tho
It's a pretty fun time. Better than not having it at all. It was also a consistent source of RageCandyBars.
2:05 Oi! I love PokéStar Studios! It was a lot of fun seeing how you could first play under certain conditions with a preset party to try to complete a specified mission, then try again with your own party, only trying to get two other endings by completing different objectives! I spent a lot of time in that part of the game!
Also, TEXT FRAMES!! Whenever I'd start a new save the first thing i would always do is pick a text frame
I don't believe you mentioned rotation battles, another new battle style that was in the generation 5 games. Basically the three pokemon you send out are on a rotating disk you can move left or right to choose which one you'd like up front, while the other two rest in the back, safe from damage.
He knows what rotation battles are, it's just not worth mentioning because it was even less popular than triples. No one talks about rotation battles.
I would like to see rotation battles come back. They were very underused in black and white even tough I think they were a great idea.
@@raynered1369 I thought rotation battles were a cool and unique approach to the standard battle formula and I wish it'd come back too
i was looking for this comment! i loved rotation battles i really wish they wouldve stuck around. to my knowledge you cant even do rotation battles in showdown :[
@@RiveroftheWither I preferred rotation battles to triple battles
The SWITCH/SET battle option. It was a way to put the game in an easier or harder mode.
It’s still worth having but only for Go or TCG live
I miss the ability to TURN OFF experience share. I understand why they do it, and I get that I can store pokemon. But I like to travel with my main team and explore, and unfortunately, they over-level like crazy and it screws up my EV training.
In the original pokemon mystery dungeons you could walk around the Friend Areas and in the remakes they made them just menus
I miss the option to use cut in a field a grass and clear a 3x3 grid.
It was useless, but it added alot of flavour to the games when I was small.
You forgot to mention that the Apricorns were also used in Legends to craft Pokeballs
Yeah that got really lazy with design choices
One idea I had for if the game Corner ever returned is to make it an arcade where all the games are ports of the games that were on the Pokemon Mini.
The Vs. Seeker, PokeNav, and infinite use TMs are mechanics I want back more than anything else.
I loved the Pokestar Studios. I spent a bunch of hours messing around in it. I hope they make something similar to it in a future game
I kinda miss triple battles
Edit: While the move Chatter is/was in the games, the ability to hear your voice jumbled up while chatot used it was removed. I miss that but i can see why they removed that
"nobody liked pokestar studios anyway"
dem be some fightin words boi.
Surprised that PaPaSea talked about triple battles but no mention of rotation battles.
I always loved collecting apricorns for kurt to turn into pokeballs. I really hope they bring him back one day :'(
Never in mu life I thought i hear 'remember mega evolution?' I feel so old 😭
The game corner was an amazing disservice to gambling, it thought countless young kids how boring slot machines are compared to going out and about and actually earning enough to afford a cool reward
Wait the elite 4 rematches are gone, i didn't know as i haven't followed the recent games as much.
Also on a related note, also miss the elite 4 having unlockable harder rematches. They seem to only be a thing they weirdly only keep doing in the remakes.
It's really sad that they stopped adding Mega Evolutions it will never be forgotten
I do hope they will make a return
Mega evolution sprites are in the scarlet violet datamine leaks
Look it up
They’re probably returning w the dlc
@@ETRdav1d those are the sprites for home. Even pokemon like ash greninja and az floette appear as sprites. those pokemon don’t exist anymore so theyre for home
They won't. It's dead and it's for the best.
I definitely miss several things, including being able to pet your own Pokémon.
Unpopular opinion but I actually hate how underutilized and underappreciated rotation battles were. It was so fun trying to make a strategy over what direction someone could rotate in and what to hit them with, like 5D chess
4:10 its not weird, its lore friendly. Dynamax the pokes dont get bigger, space is warped to the viewers perception
I miss the shiny sound from Legends Arceus. I don't even want to think about how many shinies I've probably missed in scarlet and violet 😭
I really loved ORAS' DexNav feature.
Being fair, HGSS did have the Game Corner, but only in the Japanese versions.
But still RIP Game Corner ):
One feature that NEEDS to be removed: event locked Pokémon. That shit is trash.
Am I the only one who misses Z moves? There were so many strategies you could use with them, especially with the non attacking moves.
I do believe we can annoy nintendo enough to make them bring Mega-evolutions
Z-moves, G-max and Terra are all simply boring and not special compared to megas.
Megas are awesome because they are exclusive/unique/special and not all pokemon having it make them more exclusive and interesting
I miss being able to cut grass with cut buti I'm just weird like that
2:06 excuse you i LOVED the pokestar studios so much, as a kid i used to say 'take me home buddy' to my flying type whenever it brought me back there
i loved going through all the different options and making a bunch of money i never got to see and getting more items than i could hold from fans
i spent over a thousand hours in my white 2 and a considerable chunk of that was in the pokestar studios
X and Y's PSS was AMAZING and I wish game freak would've kept it and expanded on it
Mega evolution is theoretically the best feature to be added (and then removed) to the game, but the implementation was so bad.
Love your videos, it’s something I didn’t know I needed but I do
I love contests they were a great way to use Pokemon that weren't great for battling, like skitty great for cute contests bad for battles
About the slot machines being removed starting in HGSS, well in France (and in Europe in general) it was also removed in Platinum and so the last games you could play the slot machines were the og Diamond and Pearl.
I actually kind of liked pokestar studios. When I got my first pokémon game, white 2, that's all I'd do. To be fair though I was like 7.
Hey now. PokéStar Studios was fire.
Also, bring back Rotation Battles and the launcher thing
Was I the only one who LOVED triple battles? My heart was broken when they didn't have them for gen 7. I made several gimmicks with surf/water absorb and discharge/volt absorb. It was super fun for me.
My all time favorite feature was the Mega Evolutions!! I also really loved the Voltorb flip game at the game corner, but not as much as the Megas!!
Sitting in chairs is something I surprisingly miss XD
4:03 not only did a few pokemon get different forms when gigantamaxing, they also got new moves
Pokemon World tournament, rotation battles, the radio, soaring in ORAS, being able to toggle the exp share on and off
heart and soul put into the games is what i currently miss the most
Battle Frontier and Battle Tower.
Mans went on about Triple Battles without mentioning their even more interesting sibling, Rotation Battles.
Since they also removed set/switch mode in SV idk how much they care about difficulty options, but it would be real nice to have again.
triple battles were a great way to lvl up pokemon.
