    Eesh... I go on this same itinerary next Friday. I hope there are improvements. But thanks to your video, my partner and I can plan better and now we are aware of the crowd situation. Perhaps we'll plan our schedule in opposition to what most people do at any given time.

      I hope you have a better experience!! The wine bar was the least crowded on my cruise. And it is a full bar. Plus the pizza place was never busy. You have to pay a few bucks but worth it to avoid the crowded dining areas. We had dinner there twice because the MDR was pretty insane. The thermal suite in the spa wasn’t crowded on our cruise and definitely worth the cost for some relaxation. Let me know how it goes!!!

      I’m thinking the same thing…. We will be on same cruise. Our 2nd MSC cruise. We did the Meraviglia and enjoyed it. The private island was enjoyable to us too. At least this is only 3 days if it’s a miss…

      @@brantthompson199 Cool. See ya on board! My partner and I have an easy-going disposition and always find how to make the most of a situation. As I wrote, if the crowds are too heavy where we are, we'll just pivot and go do something else. We'll be on a cruise and getting stressed out is definitely NOT on our plans! ;)

    It seems that they will be starting 2-day cruises from Miami to Nassau starting in March (not sure how often). If they do, I hope they do the one-way option like Margaritaville at sea does for Freeport.

    Thanks for sharing, Kim! This looks like a complete lack of crew members and prep for a short cruise. We also said "never again" on the MSC Meriviglia upon it's inaugural startup after Covid but I had a great sailing a year later testing out the solo traveler promotion. They are very much hit and miss.

      Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Royal was our favorite line when our kids were little and we’ve sailed with them more than 20 times. We had a pretty bad sailing with them once. Not quite as bad as this. 😁 but we went back and we were glad we did. I’m sure every cruise line has an “off” sailing.

    I have been on quite a few cruises. Getting ready for Divina on April 10th. Thank you for the video on your experience, especially with it being so close to mine. I don't think anything for the first 3 are valid for us. I do know muster calls can be a bit weird at times. However if people don't show up to their muster, it ruins the cruise for everyone. This was probably why they continued to send you back up after checking the whole floor. ill edit this post when I get my experience out of the way.

    We sailed on the Meraviglia last month and our experiences were almost identical. Gorgeous, clean ship and private island with great coffee..... but way too understaffed and insane policies that are not customer friendly. If we ever sail MSC again, it will either be YC or on a 7+ day during non peak times.

      @@freshlysqueezedtravels agreed! We felt horrible especially when we saw mgt make no efforts to help them or the sailors. I’ve never seen anything like it, definition of anti-customer service in some situations

    Ugh. Sounds like a really poor guest experience. My claustrophobia would have kicked in big time. Sorry you had such a bad experience.

    Sounds like an absolute nightmare holiday.
    The MSC ships look shiny and beautiful, but they are filled with thousands of passengers.
    If you love queuing up, waiting for your drinks to arrive, hunting for a sun-bed, or eating cheap/fast food, MSC is perfect ☹️🤢🥴

    Very unfair. I love MSC and enjoy their sailings. I work in hospitality at a major hotel and we have had staffing problems that have resulted in not providing the standard of service that guests expect. When only one or two restaurant employees show up you do the best you can short of closing the restaurant down. Service may be slow but the alternative of closing the restaurant would make more guests unhappy. Staffing is a huge problem in the hospitality industry and you can’t make a person be responsible enough to show up for their jobs. I bet more people would have been angry if MSC had cancelled the cruise due to staffing issues. You implied that this sailing was the exception and not the rule, based on your past experiences, so why the “negative Nancy” comments. The sailing sounds like there were definitely some problems but unless you know the entire story as to why they had these problems don’t be so judgmental. Cancelling the cruise and refunding the money, sounds like what you would have preferred that. What a shame LOL ☹️

      I appreciate your comments. When I pay money to take a cruise on a major line I have some basic expectations. Like not having to wait 45 minutes at a bar to get a drink. This sailing did not meet them. It was not enjoyable. And if MSC couldn’t handle the guest capacity they shouldn’t have sold out the ship. I’ve been on Royal, Princess and Virgin recently and haven’t experienced any problems.
      I’m glad for your feedback though! I’ve been waiting for the “you’re the problem” comment. I was stunned it hasn’t happened until now.

    @Freshly Squeezed Travels, thanks for your input, It would be credible with your words with video footage, covering face, etc. If you showed with footage image of a messy dirty tables, etc. this would be more helpful. Images can speak louder than words. I will be on Divina in Feb 2024 and I am worried about the experience, but will be taking pictures if there is issues!

    I think you did an excellent job on trying to give them some highlights. However wow MSC, to me that muster drill with mandatory stairs process is a liability incident waiting for them. I am able, but many cruisers have scooters and/or mobility issues. Similarly on medical/assistive response in the pool. Certain things are must. Safety #1. Running out of wine on an Italian ship is humorous, but of course disappointing. Since this is about 4th bad review between content providers I would be very hesitant to try out MSC.

    I have a sailing on Divina in Jan '24. I will be paying attention to videos on MSC.

    I will stick with Royal Caribbean! None of these issues should have happened. They have your money, so they don't seem to care.

    Just got back from the Divina and your review was way more generous. I bought the drink pa mage but it was useless since it literally took 30 minutes of waving your ship card in the face of overwhelmed bartenders. Not enough food options outside of the buffet. Never sat a table because they were full of people or dirty dishes. People brought lunch on the pool deck for lack of eating space so the pool deck and loungers were full of empty dishes. Not having an app to disseminate cruise entertainment and having to keep up with paper schedules was crazy. Finally be prepared to walk steps. Elevators were always slow and I have been on similar size and crowded ships. Ocean Cay is beautiful but again be prepared to walk. Shuttles took forever.

    I was wondering what the theme nights were every night?
    was there a formal night? carribean night? not sure what to pack😅

    Uhhh, at first I intended to say very negative things about MSC. But, in retrospect, this sounds very much like an entity, which will soon no longer be a going concern. So, it's probably bad manners to talk ill of the dead. RIP MSC....p.s. I don't recommend booking and paying for an MSC cruise more than a week before embarkation day...might still be risky....
