I have been watching your videos and a couple others also , we have been long lining crabs like that in South Louisiana since boats had engines on them . 5 to 6 thousand feet per line , we used just 1 line though..... We call them Pah Long in Cajun french , I used to to run those in the marsh lakes at 2 thousand feet long and would catch 90 t0 a 100 dozen from sun up to noon .... You could almost sink your boat if the water was deeper LOL.... only 2 foot of water in those lakes , yes we could catch more , but it's a lot work in a short period of time... Nowadays they lease the lakes for a percentage 20 to 25 % of the catch... ....... Love Peace and Crackling Grease Mon Ami ......
Nice video mate. Just read the book beautiful swimmers and was wondering what this technique looked like. Much quicker than I was thinking. Anyway greetings from Australia!
Lol, that's actually a funny story that I just happened to catch on tape. th-cam.com/video/B2FVcRkIlmE/w-d-xo.html *after this disaster I went ahead and put a switch and pump in her. My big old wood boats wouldn't stay floating wo a main one and a back up.
At some point, can you show how you load and unload your boat by yourself. Because most of the time I will be going alone, and I am concerned about how to maneuver everything what you set up put in the boat what you carry to the boat whatever you could share would be great.
@@Trotlining Just out of curiosity from a guy who only handlines, what can one get for a full bushel of 1s? Depends on the day I'm sure. Awesome video!!

Shipping Creek wasn’t half bad this weekend. What depth you running there?
I had stuff every depth (3-12)saw most In 5 but the end I saw that is just a hot spot there just pretty thick and scattered
@@Trotlining 7-8 ft. was out sweet spot. Would have caught more but had a flat tire at John Brown rd. Cut into a bit of time on the water.
Do you sell your crabs? I mean like to 1 person, not a Seafood store.
No I try to only deal with wholesale buyers
@@Trotlining I appreciate it. Thank You
