I actually enjoyed it a lot. Was pleasantly surprised with it. I think what happened to Snow is more real than we'd like to think. He was being drawn in many directions and didn't know how to handle it. He felt for Lucy Gray, Sejanus, as well as wanting to return to his family and career path. You can see that until he is bitten by the snake, he never really truly commits to any of these paths.
Snow really is every other guy we grew up with slowly turning into an asshole as the response to his surroundings, they sold his character really well.
