Helpful for an novice. What is a key combination? Are you using the old pins?

I have a key in knob entry lock by schlage. i only have the outside rose handle and need the inside handle and thumb turn. where do i find it online? have been looking and no luck. all i see is complete locks. where do i look for just the parts i need. thank you.

If you use a shim. There’s no fighting the follower through the cylinder

my newer shlage knobs have that little slot but the older ones do not , how do I get into the older knobs to rekey?

Hey Wynne, my lock has a metal stick about 3 inches sticking out the back of the cylinder, is removal procedure the same?

I have a knob similar to this that I don't have the key for but I want to reset it to a new key. I've gotten most of the lock taken apart, but I"m stuck on how to get the tumbler to release from the housing. Basically, because on the inside its got an oval shaped back and I can't turn it that quarter turn, I can't get spring clasp to go down far enough to be able to get tumbler housing to pop out. Any suggestions?

I like to shove a shim in there before pushing the follower thru. Makes it much easier with those f series

I don't like working on the F series, especially when I have to replace the little metal caps. Luckily my pin kit has all the parts!

Oh I hate them too! T pins are a b! $%h to pick or shim and yes the caps are a total pain. Always flying off and bending. Then when you get it all back together the cylinder will fall over and get all twisted in the knob...... gerrr. I have replaced entire lock sets so I did not have to deal with them!
