Governor mod was one the best things i did while converting the 03 Kawi to woods bike suck world difference down low alo g with the 11oz fly weight. Put O5 to 09 Governor and you take a shim out and man turned my motorcross bike into woods those two things and the necj needle man those old forums dirtrider are life savers before the youtube world. Had guy guide me through what needed and man thing is definitely capable with new wokds bikes not as good but will hang with the 300s
Years ago (the 90s) the #1 engine mod team green was doing to the KX500 was the power valve mod. It was considered more important than porting.
That hitlis system looks pretty sweet 🤘🤘🤘
you will like the power valve much better after the kit. The stock power band on the yz250 hits hard and has a rpm related feel. I found myself riding in too high of a gear in soft and loose terrain.(Enduro riding) when getting into the power band on steep Hill climbs I would lose traction. with the Hitles kit it now rides more linear The power ban seems connected more to the throttle now, much more trackable and faster from not worrying about the back tire spinning up so fast.
Great install of a great product. Tim is also a great guy to work with if you have questions. The biggest thing I wish I had done was ride my YZ250 more before I installed the HITLISS system to know how much of a difference it made. Nonetheless, I love the way my YZ runs!
No overrev lost at all. I found it revved higher in fact. You are going to love it, its the best mod you can do to the YZ.

@@highlandcycles I speak under correction, but I think you gain 1000rpm overrev from what I've read, then again my memory is not the best.

You don’t lose any over-rev. It actually seems like the engine hits higher rpm with the kit installed.

Nice to see a bunch of details on the Hitlis system. I'm definitely considering adding one to my YZ. I may have missed it in the video, but did you choose the woods or the desert version?

HitLis works really well I would say it's the best mod outside my 22.5mm offset trees I do for the YZx the bike is just faster all over now or I should say I'm faster now..
Now that you’ve seen the components up close, any guess on how it will ride? Maybe compared to another bike?

What modification do you do to the governor on the "X" model and what does it do the bike to make it run better?
On the X we take out a preload shim. Makes the PV open earlier and therefore makes the bike snappier

The YZ power valve seems very "Rube Goldberg" compared to the Beta 250/300 (which is super-simple)..
It is a bit. It works well but it’s a bit complicated
